New Moon in Virgo: Harvesting Clarity and Sacred Service

The new moon in Virgo on August 23rd, 2025, arrives with a crisp, earthy energy that sharpens our focus and invites us to align with purpose, precision, and service. This new moon, coinciding with the start of Virgo season—the sun’s entry into Virgo on the same day—marks a powerful threshold, blending the lunar reset with the zodiac’s call to harvest clarity and cultivate order from chaos. As a time to set intentions and plant seeds for the future, this Virgo new moon offers a sacred opportunity to refine our lives, honor our inner critic with love, and step into acts of service that heal the world. For me, this moon resonates under Minnesota’s late August skies, echoing my recent meditations on transformation as I prepare for my 33rd year, the Serpent’s Ascent, on September 7th.

Virgo is the sign of the healer, the organizer, and the devoted servant, ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and intellect. This new moon encourages us to turn inward with discernment, refine our skills, and embrace the beauty of imperfection in our pursuit of growth. As Virgo season begins, we’re invited to ground our intentions in practical action, blending earthy stability with a spiritual quest for wholeness. Let this New Moon in Virgo guide you to harvest clarity, nurture your gifts, and serve with a heart full of grace, aligning with the cycles that shape our sacred journey.

New Moon: What It Is and Why We Honor It

Every month, the new moon ushers in a fresh cycle, a moment to pause, reflect, and plant intentions for the weeks ahead. This lunar phase, shrouded in darkness, is a sacred time to cleanse your energy, set goals, and align your actions with your soul’s purpose. The new moon isn’t just a celestial event—it’s a call to pair intention with effort, weaving emotion and practicality into a tapestry of manifestation. Historically, our ancestors revered this phase as a time of renewal, using the quiet night to plan and restore, much like the seasonal shifts that guide our lives.

This Virgo new moon, arriving as Virgo season begins, carries a unique magic, blending lunar renewal with the sun’s earthy influence. It’s a time to harvest the lessons of summer and prepare for the introspective fall, a process I feel deeply as I meditate on my own growth. Virgo: The Sign of Clarity and Service

Each new moon is shaped by its zodiac sign, and this Virgo new moon brings the earthy, analytical energy of the Virgin. Who is Virgo?

Virgo, the sixth sign of the zodiac, spans August 23 to September 22, ruled by Mercury, the messenger of intellect and communication. Symbolized by the Virgin holding a sheaf of wheat, Virgo embodies precision, service, and a quest for perfection. As an earth sign with a mutable quality, Virgo adapts and refines, offering practicality and a healing touch. This sign governs the sixth house of health, work, and daily routines, urging us to align our lives with purpose.

Virgo Constellation

The Virgo constellation, visible in the northern hemisphere during spring and summer, is one of the largest, with its brightest star, Spica, marking the wheat sheaf. Ancient Babylonians saw it as a goddess of fertility, while Greeks linked it to Astraea, the goddess of justice, who fled to the stars as humanity declined. This celestial maiden reflects Virgo’s dual nature—service and discernment—a light I feel as I prepare for my 33rd year.

Virgo Energy in Myth and History

In mythology, Virgo’s roots tie to Astraea, who brought order but retreated as chaos grew, a tale of service amid imperfection. In ancient Egypt, she was linked to Isis, the healer, mirroring Virgo’s nurturing side. This history resonates with my love for Virgo’s energy, a sign that heals and organizes, even under scrutiny.

Why I Love the Moon in Virgo

I adore when the moon graces Virgo, especially this new moon on August 23rd, because I am a Virgo myself, born under its meticulous and nurturing energy. This connection runs deep—not only do I carry Virgo’s essence, but astrologically, Virgo occupies nearly all my houses except three, weaving its influence into every facet of my life. From my first house of self to my tenth of career, Virgo shapes my identity, work, and service, a constant thread as I craft rituals and guide others. This new moon feels like a homecoming, a moment to honor my roots and refine my path toward my 33rd year, the Serpent’s Ascent.

This alignment enhances my intuition and practicality, a dance I’ve honed through years of shadow work and spellcraft. As Virgo season begins, I feel its energy amplify my desire to serve, to heal, and to perfect my craft, a light that shines brighter with each lunar cycle. On August 23rd, I’ll sit with this energy, letting it guide my intentions for growth and connection.

Defending Virgo’s Misunderstood Energy

Virgo often gets so much hate, and honestly, it’s one of the most maligned signs of the zodiac for its energy and reputation. People label Virgos as nitpicky, overly critical, or cold, missing the heart that beats beneath the surface. This criticism stings, especially for me as a Virgo, who’s felt the weight of perfectionism but also its gifts. Yet, this hate overlooks how much we need Virgo—its meticulous care, its quiet service, its dedication to making the world better. Virgos are the unsung heroes, the ones tending to the sick, organizing chaos, and holding space for others, often without recognition.

In a world of excess, Virgo’s precision is a balm, a light that keeps us grounded. Think of the nurses, teachers, and healers—many are Virgos, their earthy energy stitching society together. As I prepare for my 33rd year, I see Virgo’s role in my own service, a reminder that its so-called flaws are strengths. This new moon invites us to honor Virgo’s gifts, to see the love in its labor, and to celebrate the caretakers who sustain us all.

Themes of the Virgo New Moon

This Virgo new moon brings themes of clarity, service, and refinement, urging us to align our intentions with practical action. We’ll feel a pull to organize our lives, hone our skills, and serve others with intention. This moon, starting Virgo season, is a time to harvest mental clarity, embrace imperfection, and step into our roles as healers.

  • Clarity: Sharpen your focus and set precise intentions.
  • Service: Offer your gifts to the world with love.
  • Refinement: Polish your skills and release what’s unnecessary.
  • Health: Tend to your body and mind with care.
  • Order: Create structure in your daily life.
  • Growth: Cultivate personal and spiritual development.
  • Humility: Embrace the beauty of imperfection.
  • Purpose: Align your actions with your soul’s calling.

What to Be Cautious Of With the Virgo New Moon

Virgo’s energy, while grounding, can tip into overanalysis or self-criticism, risking perfectionism that stalls progress. This new moon might amplify a tendency to nitpick or neglect self-care in pursuit of order. Be wary of isolating yourself in your quest for control—balance your discernment with compassion. As someone who’s wrestled with Virgo’s intensity, I’ve learned to soften its edge with love, a lesson I carry into my 33rd-year preparations.

This moon also calls for harmony between detail and vision. While Virgo thrives on specifics, don’t lose sight of the bigger picture. Ground your intentions with action, but let intuition guide, especially as Virgo season begins.

Virgo and Duality

As a free witch, I cherish the duality in every energy, and Virgo is no exception. On one side, Virgo is precise, analytical, and service-oriented, offering a foundation for growth and a love for detail. This energy heals through order and care, a light I feel in my own craft. On the other, Virgo can be overly critical or rigid, sometimes leading to self-doubt or burnout. This duality teaches us that perfection is a journey, not a destination—a balance I’ve sought through my life’s trials.

The new moon embodies this liminal space, a blend of ending and beginning, shadow and light. As Virgo season starts, this moon invites us to harmonize Virgo’s strengths with its shadows, refining our path with grace.

Dive into Innovation under the Sturgeon Full Moon in Aquarius

This mystical August, we prepare to embrace the Sturgeon Full Moon illuminating the skies on August 9, under the visionary, rebellious spirit of Aquarius. This full moon, named for the abundant sturgeon fish harvested by the Great Lakes tribes in late summer, pulses with energy of innovation, community, and bold transformation, urging us to break free from convention and pursue our unique visions. As the Sturgeon Moon rises, we’ll feel a surge of inspiration, a call to connect with others in revolutionary ways, and an invitation to release old patterns that stifle our growth. In the weeks following, we may find ourselves blossoming toward new horizons, empowered by creativity and unity. Join me in this guide as we dive into innovation under the Sturgeon Full Moon in Aquarius!

First, What is the Full Moon?

Across centuries, the Moon has been a sacred guide in diverse cultures and traditions. The full moon marks the moment when the Moon is fully illuminated, reaching its zenith in the lunar cycle—a powerful peak of expression and energy. This occurs when the transiting Sun and Moon stand in opposition across the zodiac, a celestial dance that stirs our inner waters, given our bodies are over 60% water. Full Moons are the crescendo of the lunar cycle, with the Sun’s light fully revealing the Moon, offering a mirror to our emotions and hidden desires.

This luminous alignment opens a portal to manifest our deepest dreams, channeling peak creative and passionate energy to shape the life we envision. While the new moon plants seeds, the full moon activates the work to bring those seeds to fruition, bridging intention and action beyond its brightest night. Explore the basics in my lunar magic blog post here. Each full moon, like this Aquarius Sturgeon Moon, carries unique vibrations tied to its zodiac sign, inviting us to align with its magic.

The Sturgeon Moon

As August’s warmth ripens the earth, the night sky glows with the Sturgeon Full Moon, a name gifted by the Great Lakes tribes, who celebrated the season of sturgeon abundance in late summer. Though not visually distinct, this moon shines with a deep, reflective hue, radiating energy of resilience, community, and the richness of nature’s depths. The Sturgeon Moon invites us to celebrate innovation, embrace collective strength, and align with the waters’ generous gifts, a time to gather the fruits of our collaboration with gratitude.

Following July’s Buck Moon, the Sturgeon Moon carries forward the theme of abundance, resonating with the transformative energy of late summer and the promise of renewal. It’s a call to explore new ideas, to connect with our communities, and to dance with the moon’s spirits under its luminous glow. Use this moon to reflect on your vision, recalibrate your innovations, and infuse your spirit with the courage to embrace change. Across cultures, the August full moon bears other names, each echoing themes of harvest and unity:

  • Sturgeon Moon (Great Lakes Tribes)
  • Corn Moon (Algonquin, some years)
  • Barley Moon (European)
  • Red Moon (Cherokee)
  • Harvest Moon (Sioux, early August)

So, Who is Aquarius?

As the eleventh sign of the zodiac, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of revolution and originality, and governed by the air element, igniting intellect and innovation. Known for its love of freedom, humanity, and forward-thinking, Aquarius is the water bearer, pouring forth ideas and dreams with boundless vision. When the Moon aligns with Aquarius, we feel a magnetic pull to break from tradition, connect with our communities, and embrace our inner visionary, encouraging us to trust our unique path and release what confines our spirit.

The Aquarius Constellation

The Aquarius constellation sparkles in the eastern sky, its stars forming the shape of a water bearer with a flowing urn, a symbol of inspiration and renewal. In ancient Greek lore, it’s linked to Ganymede, the cupbearer to the gods, while Babylonian myths tie it to Ea, the god of wisdom and waters. The constellation’s bright star, Sadalsuud, pulses with energy of hope and change, aligning with Aquarius’ revolutionary spirit. For many cultures, this celestial figure marked a time of abundance and innovation, reflecting its themes of progress and unity.

New Moon in Cancer: Nurturing the Soul’s Depths

The new moon in Cancer on June 25, 2025, flows in with a tender, watery energy that soothes our hearts and invites us to dive into the realms of nurturing, intuition, and emotional connection. This new moon, cradled in the sensitive, protective, and deeply feeling water sign of Cancer, offers a sacred moment to plant seeds of self-care, family bonds, and inner security in our lives. New moons are always a time to start afresh, set intentions, and envision your future—but this Cancer new moon, arriving as we bask in the afterglow of the summer solstice on June 20, becomes a powerful opportunity to embrace vulnerability and honor the flow of emotions. For me, this moon resonates deeply with my recent shadow work under Minnesota’s warm June skies, continuing the theme of aligning with nature’s cycles and finding harmony in emotional depth.

Cancer is all about nurturing, intuition, and the sanctuary of home. This new moon encourages us to turn inward, protect our emotional space, and embrace the cycles of care within us. As a sign ruled by the Moon itself, Cancer reminds us to trust our instincts, seek comfort, and connect with our roots. This new moon is the time to tap into the most compassionate, intuitive version of yourself—the one that whispers, “I am worthy of love and security.” Let this New Moon in Cancer cradle you in the tides of transformation, helping you manifest a life of emotional richness, familial harmony, and soulful sanctuary.

New Moon: What It Is and Why We Honor It

Every month, the new moon ushers us into a fresh cycle, a moment to pause, reflect, and set intentions. Before we dive into Cancer’s watery magic, let’s ground ourselves in the essence of the new moon itself. This lunar phase is a time to cleanse your energy, set intentions for the cycle ahead, and plant the seeds of what you wish to manifest. But intentions alone aren’t enough—you must pair them with action and emotion to bring them to life. The new moon supports you in this process, offering a fertile space for new beginnings, healing, and growth.

Historically, our ancestors honored the new moon as a time of rest and renewal, using the darkness of the night sky to reflect and plan, much like they did during seasonal shifts. Think of your intentions as seeds you’re planting now, to be nurtured over the lunar cycle and harvested by the full moon. Each new moon carries its own unique magic, influenced by the zodiac sign it falls in. To learn more about working with the new moon, check out my previous blog post here. Cancer: The Sign of Nurturing and Intuition

Each new moon is amplified by the zodiac sign it occupies, and this time, we’re blessed with the tender, emotional energy of Cancer. So, who is Cancer?

Cancer, symbolized by the Crab, is the fourth sign of the zodiac, governing those born between June 21 and July 22. As a water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer embodies nurturing, intuition, and a deep connection to home—think cozy evenings, family gatherings, or the comfort of a safe haven. Cancer energy is sensitive, protective, and cyclical, encouraging us to honor our emotions and build security. It’s a cardinal sign, meaning it initiates action, making it a perfect guide for nurturing new emotional foundations.

Cancer Constellation

Cancer is a faint constellation in the northern sky, visible in the evening during late winter and spring. The constellation is symbolized by the Crab, linked to the myth of Hercules and the Hydra, where the crab was sent by Hera to distract Hercules during his labors. Its history traces back to ancient Mesopotamia, where it was associated with a turtle or scarab, symbols of protection, and later adopted by the Greeks. Cancer sits near Gemini and Leo, with its brightest star, Acubens, marking the crab’s body.

In Greek mythology, the Cancer constellation commemorates the crab that bit Hercules’ foot during his battle with the Hydra. Sent by Hera, the crab was crushed by Hercules but honored by the goddess with a place in the sky. This tale reflects Cancer’s protective nature, even in sacrifice. In other cultures, the Aboriginal Australians saw the stars as a water container, guiding seasonal rains, while Babylonian mythology linked Cancer to the god Sin, ruler of the moon, emphasizing emotional tides.

Cancer: The Sign of Emotional Sanctuary

Cancer is the embodiment of watery sanctuary, ruled by the Moon, the planet of emotions, intuition, and cycles. This sign revels in the emotional world—think heartfelt conversations, home-cooked meals, and the warmth of loved ones. Cancer energy is compassionate, intuitive, and deeply tied to the heart, encouraging us to embrace vulnerability and connect with our roots. As a cardinal water sign, Cancer is the tide of the zodiac, offering initiation, emotional depth, and a knack for creating safe spaces.

This new moon in Cancer is a time to embrace your inner caregiver, planting seeds that will grow into emotional security and intuitive wisdom. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, invites us to focus on self-love, family, and the sanctuary within. We may feel a surge of desire to nurture ourselves, protect our boundaries, and express our feelings freely. Use this energy to heal your heart, to seek comfort, and to cultivate a sense of harmony that flows through your emotional and domestic life.

Cancer: The Sign of Protection and Cycles

Cancer rules the fourth house in astrology, often called the house of home, family, and roots. This house governs our sense of security, our ancestral ties, and our innermost sanctuary, reflecting our ability to nurture and be nurtured. Cancer, as the ruler of this house, teaches us that true strength comes from emotional resilience and honoring our cycles. This sign encourages us to value our intuition, to celebrate our protective instincts, and to create a life that reflects emotional richness.

Cancer energy is a reminder that we are cyclical, capable of flowing with life’s tides. It’s the sign that helps us cultivate a strong sense of home, grounded in love rather than fear. During this new moon, focus on what soothes your soul, connects you to your roots, and invites you to heal. Cancer invites us to build a life that feels rich in every sense—emotionally, domestically, and spiritually.

Themes of the Cancer New Moon

Every new moon carries themes tied to its zodiac sign, and this Cancer new moon is all about nurturing, intuition, and protection. We’ll feel a deep pull to turn inward, to care for our emotional needs, and to embrace the cycles within us. This new moon is about planting seeds for self-love, strengthening family ties, and honoring the flow of intuition. If you’ve been neglecting your heart or resisting vulnerability, this is your cosmic invitation to nurture yourself and create a safe space.

  • Nurturing: Tend to your emotional and physical well-being with care.
  • Intuition: Trust your gut and listen to your inner voice.
  • Protection: Safeguard your heart and home with loving boundaries.
  • Cycles: Honor the ebb and flow of your emotions and life.
  • Family: Strengthen bonds with loved ones or your inner family.
  • Security: Build a sanctuary that reflects your soul’s needs.
  • Healing: Release past hurts through emotional release rituals.
  • Home: Create a cozy space to recharge and reflect.

What to Be Cautious Of With the Cancer New Moon

While Cancer energy is nurturing and intuitive, it can also lead to moodiness and over-sensitivity. Cancer’s deep emotions might make us cling to the past or become overly protective, risking emotional overwhelm. Be mindful of retreating too far into your shell—balance your self-care with openness to the world. Additionally, Cancer’s focus on home can tip into isolation, so nurture your connections while honoring your need for solitude.

This new moon also calls for balance between intuition and logic. While Cancer thrives on feelings, don’t ignore practical steps to support your intentions. As I’ve learned through my own journey with June’s warmth, there’s magic in trusting your heart—but wisdom grows when we ground our emotions with action, even amidst Cancer’s tides. Use this energy to heal, but stay engaged with your path.

Cancer and Duality

As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy I work with, including the new moon and the zodiac sign it occupies. Let’s explore the duality of Cancer. On one hand, Cancer is nurturing, intuitive, and protective, offering a compassionate foundation for growth and a deep appreciation for emotional connection. This energy is perfect for healing, building security, and embracing vulnerability. On the other hand, Cancer can be moody and clingy, sometimes leading to emotional stagnation or over-dependence. This duality reminds us that while sensitivity is a gift, we must also release what no longer serves to create emotional freedom.

The new moon itself is a liminal space, embodying duality through its balance of light and shadow. It’s a time of beginnings, but those beginnings are born from endings—a cycle of death and rebirth. Just as I found harmony in Minnesota’s June duality, connecting with the shifting energies of nature, this Cancer new moon invites us to find balance between nurturing and letting go, between protection and openness.

Soar into Abundance under the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius

This mystical June , we prepare to embrace the Strawberry Full Moon illuminating the skies on June 11, under the fiery, adventurous spirit of Sagittarius. This full moon, named for the ripe strawberries harvested by the Algonquin and Ojibwe tribes in early summer, pulses with energy of growth, sweetness, and bold exploration, urging us to savor life’s abundance and pursue our highest truths. As the Strawberry Moon rises, we’ll feel a surge of joy, a call to chase our dreams with fiery passion, and an invitation to release doubts that weigh us down. In the weeks following, we may find ourselves blossoming toward new possibilities, empowered by gratitude and vitality. Join me in this guide as we soar into abundance under the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius!

There are myriad ways to harness this energy—explore the basics in my lunar magic blog post here. Each full moon, like this Sagittarius Sturgeon Moon, carries unique vibrations tied to its zodiac sign, inviting us to align with its magic.

The Strawberry Moon

As June’s warmth ripens the earth, the night sky glows with the Strawberry Full Moon, a name gifted by the Algonquin and Ojibwe tribes, who celebrated the season of strawberry harvesting in early summer. Though not visually distinct, this moon shines in its golden or rosy hue, radiating energy of sweetness, fertility, and the joy of nature’s peak. The Strawberry Moon invites us to celebrate abundance, embrace vitality, and align with the earth’s generous gifts, a time to gather the fruits of our labor with gratitude.

Following May’s Flower Moon, the Strawberry Moon carries forward the theme of growth, resonating with the fiery energy of midsummer and the promise of harvest. It’s a call to savor life’s pleasures, to embark on new quests, and to dance with the earth’s spirits under the moon’s light. Use this moon to reflect on your journey, recalibrate your dreams, and infuse your spirit with the courage to pursue your truth. Across cultures, the June full moon bears other names, each echoing themes of bounty and renewal:

  • Strawberry Moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe)
  • Rose Moon (European)
  • Hot Moon (Cherokee)
  • Mead Moon (Medieval English)
  • Thunder Moon (Algonquin, some years)
  • Green Corn Moon (Sioux)
  • Moon When the Ponies Shed (Dakota)

So, Who is Sagittarius?

As the ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and wisdom, and governed by the fire element, igniting passion and inspiration. Known for its love of freedom, truth, and adventure, Sagittarius is the archer, aiming its arrow toward the stars with boundless optimism. When the Moon aligns with Sagittarius, we feel a magnetic pull to explore new horizons, seek higher knowledge, and embrace our inner wanderer, encouraging us to trust our journey and release what limits our growth.

The Sagittarius Constellation

The Sagittarius constellation gleams in the southern sky, its stars forming the shape of an archer with a drawn bow, a symbol of aspiration and pursuit. In ancient Greek lore, it’s linked to Chiron, the wise centaur who taught healing and archery, while Babylonian myths tie it to Pabilsag, a god of war and wisdom. The constellation’s bright star, Rukbat, pulses with energy of direction and purpose, aligning with Sagittarius’ questing spirit. For many cultures, this celestial archer marked a time of harvest and travel, reflecting its themes of expansion and discovery.

Sagittarius’ quest for truth encourages us to explore our inner wilderness, while its optimism fuels the courage to release what no longer serves. This is a time to ask: What fears keep me from my dreams? What beliefs limit my growth? Journal these shadows, then use the moon’s energy to release them through rituals like burning a list of doubts or meditating on your inner archer. A piece of paper and pen

A bowl of water

A small arrow or stick (to symbolize the archer)

A red or gold candle

Fresh strawberries or red flowers (e.g., roses)

“Under the Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius, I charge this arrow with my intention. May it soar to my dreams with power and joy.”
  4. Release Your Intention: Submerge the paper in the bowl of water, imagining old energy dissolving. Aim the arrow upward, visualizing it hitting your goal.
  5. Close the Ritual: Scatter the strawberries or flowers in a body of water as an offering, saying:

New Moon in Gemini: Embracing Curiosity and Communication

The new moon in Gemini on May 26, 2025, sweeps in with a vibrant, airy energy that ignites our minds and invites us to explore the realms of communication, curiosity, and connection. This new moon, nestled in the witty, versatile, and inquisitive air sign of Gemini, offers a sacred moment to plant seeds of knowledge, social bonds, and intellectual growth in our lives. New moons are always a time to start fresh, set intentions, and envision your future—but this Gemini new moon, arriving as we transition from Taurus’s grounding into Gemini’s lively dance, doubles as a powerful opportunity to embrace change and honor the flow of ideas. For me, this moon feels particularly resonant after my recent reflections on duality during Minnesota’s spring awakening, as it continues the theme of aligning with nature’s cycles and finding harmony in movement.

Gemini is all about curiosity, communication, and the joy of learning. This new moon encourages us to engage with the world, share our voices, and embrace the duality within us. As a sign ruled by Mercury, the planet of thought and travel, Gemini reminds us to stay adaptable, seek new perspectives, and connect with others. This new moon is the time to tap into the most inquisitive, expressive version of yourself—the one that whispers, “I am open to the wisdom and connections life offers.” Let this New Moon in Gemini lift you on the winds of inspiration, helping you manifest a life of intellectual richness, social harmony, and boundless exploration.

New Moon: What It Is and Why We Honor It

Every month, the new moon ushers us into a fresh cycle, a moment to pause, reflect, and set intentions. Before we dive into Gemini’s airy magic, let’s ground ourselves in the essence of the new moon itself. This lunar phase is a time to cleanse your energy, set intentions for the cycle ahead, and plant the seeds of what you wish to manifest. But intentions alone aren’t enough—you must pair them with action and energy to bring them to life. The new moon supports you in this process, offering a fertile space for new ideas, beginnings, and growth.

Gemini: The Sign of Curiosity and Communication

Each new moon is amplified by the zodiac sign it occupies, and this time, we’re blessed with the lively, intellectual energy of Gemini. So, who is Gemini?

Gemini, symbolized by the Twins, is the third sign of the zodiac, governing those born between May 21 and June 20. As an air sign ruled by Mercury, Gemini embodies curiosity, communication, and a love for exchange—think lively conversations, new books, or the thrill of a fresh idea. Gemini energy is quick, adaptable, and multifaceted, encouraging us to explore multiple perspectives and build connections. It’s a mutable sign, meaning it’s all about flexibility, change, and bridging ideas, making it a perfect guide for navigating life’s dualities.

Gemini Constellation

Gemini is one of the prominent constellations in the northern sky, visible in the evening during late winter and spring. The constellation is symbolized by the twins Castor and Pollux, representing duality and unity. Its history traces back to ancient Mesopotamia, where it was linked to the story of twin gods, and later adopted by the Greeks. Gemini sits near Orion and the bright star Sirius, with its own notable stars, Castor and Pollux, marking the heads of the twins.

In Greek mythology, the constellation Gemini commemorates Castor and Pollux, the sons of Leda. Born from an egg after Zeus, disguised as a swan, seduced Leda, the twins shared a bond of brotherhood. Castor was mortal, while Pollux was immortal. When Castor died, Pollux begged Zeus to share his immortality, leading Zeus to place them together in the sky as the Gemini constellation, symbolizing eternal unity and duality. In another tale, the twins were seen as protectors of sailors, their stars guiding ships through stormy seas.

Meanwhile, the Aboriginal Australians viewed the Gemini stars as two young brothers or hunters, part of the Emu in the Sky story, using their positions to mark seasonal changes for hunting and gathering. In Babylonian mythology, the twins were linked to the god Marduk and his companion, representing wisdom and communication, guiding humanity’s intellectual pursuits.

Gemini: The Sign of Versatility and Connection

Gemini is the embodiment of airy versatility, ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, and travel. This sign revels in the mental world—think spirited debates, new friendships, and the pursuit of knowledge. Gemini energy is dynamic, curious, and deeply connected to the mind, encouraging us to embrace change and engage with others. As a mutable air sign, Gemini is the breeze of the zodiac, offering adaptability, social grace, and a knack for weaving ideas into reality.

This new moon in Gemini is a time to embrace your inner storyteller, planting seeds that will grow into vibrant conversations and insights. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, invites us to focus on communication, learning, and the joy of connection. We may feel a surge of desire to explore new ideas, connect with others, and express ourselves freely. Use this energy to lift your voice, to seek wisdom, and to cultivate a sense of harmony that flows through your relationships and intellect.

Gemini: The Sign of Duality and Intellect

Gemini rules the third house in astrology, often called the house of communication, siblings, and short journeys. This house governs how we express ourselves, learn, and connect with our immediate environment, reflecting our ability to share and grow through interaction. Gemini, as the ruler of this house, teaches us that true wisdom comes from embracing duality and engaging with diverse perspectives. This sign encourages us to value our intellect, to celebrate our versatility, and to create a life that reflects mental richness.

Gemini energy is a reminder that we are multifaceted, capable of holding multiple truths. It’s the sign that helps us cultivate a strong sense of curiosity, grounded in openness rather than rigidity. During this new moon, focus on what sparks your mind, connects you to others, and invites you to explore. Gemini invites us to build a life that feels rich in every sense—intellectually, socially, and creatively.

Themes of the Gemini New Moon

Every new moon carries themes tied to its zodiac sign, and this Gemini new moon is all about curiosity, communication, and duality. We’ll feel a deep pull to engage with the world, to share our thoughts, and to embrace the interplay of opposites within us. This new moon is about planting seeds for intellectual growth, strengthening social bonds, and honoring the flow of ideas. If you’ve been holding back your voice or resisting new perspectives, this is your cosmic invitation to speak your truth and explore with an open heart.

  • Curiosity: Open your mind to new ideas and seek knowledge with wonder.
  • Communication: Share your voice and connect with others through words or art.
  • Duality: Embrace the twin aspects of your nature—light and shadow, logic and intuition.
  • Versatility: Adapt to change and explore multiple paths with flexibility.
  • Connection: Build relationships and strengthen your community ties.
  • Learning: Dive into books, courses, or conversations to expand your mind.
  • Expression: Create through writing, speaking, or creative projects.
  • Playfulness: Infuse joy and lightheartedness into your practice and life.

What to Be Cautious Of With the Gemini New Moon

While Gemini energy is lively and inquisitive, it can also lead to scattered thoughts and inconsistency. Gemini loves variety, which might make us jump between ideas or commitments, leaving projects unfinished. Be mindful of overthinking or becoming too detached—ground your curiosity with focus and follow through on your intentions. Additionally, Gemini’s duality can tip into indecision, so balance your exploration with clarity.

This new moon also calls for balance between connection and solitude. While Gemini thrives on social interaction, don’t neglect your inner world. As I’ve learned through my own journey with spring’s awakening, there’s magic in engaging with others—but wisdom often grows in quiet reflection, even amidst Gemini’s buzz. Use this energy to connect, but carve out space for yourself too.

Gemini and Duality

As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy I work with, including the new moon and the zodiac sign it occupies. Let’s explore the duality of Gemini. On one hand, Gemini is curious, communicative, and versatile, offering a dynamic foundation for growth and a deep appreciation for intellectual exchange. This energy is perfect for exploring new ideas, building connections, and embracing change. On the other hand, Gemini can be scattered and indecisive, sometimes leading to restlessness or a lack of depth. This duality reminds us that while versatility is a gift, we must also anchor our thoughts to create meaningful outcomes.

The new moon itself is a liminal space, embodying duality through its balance of light and shadow. It’s a time of beginnings, but those beginnings are born from endings—a cycle of death and rebirth. Just as I found harmony in Minnesota’s spring duality, this Gemini new moon invites us to find balance between exploration and focus, between connection and introspection.

Dive into Transformation under the Flower Full Moon in Scorpio

This month’s full moon illuminates the skies on May 12th, 2025, immersing us in the deep, transformative energy of Scorpio as the Flower Moon blooms. The energy of this Flower Full Moon is one of intensity, rebirth, and emotional unveiling, encouraging us to plunge into our inner depths while honoring the blossoming abundance of May. As the Flower Moon glows, we’ll feel a surge of passion, a call to confront hidden truths, and an invitation to shed old skins like the scorpion, ready to embrace a journey of profound renewal. In the days and weeks following this Full Moon, we may find ourselves releasing buried emotions and rising empowered. Join me in this blog post as we dive into transformation under the Flower Full Moon in Scorpio!

First, What is the Full Moon?

Over the centuries, the Moon has played a significant role in different cultures and traditions. The full moon is when the moon is completely illuminated in the sky, reaching its peak in the lunar cycle. When the moon is fully illuminated, it’s a time for all to reach full expression—a potent moment of power in the lunar cycle.

A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). This alignment affects us deeply, as we’re made up of 60% or more water, and the full moon’s pull stirs our inner tides. Full Moons are the peak point of the lunar cycle: the Sun fully illuminates the Moon, and the luminaries oppose one another from our perspective on Earth. This potent alignment offers opportunities to gain awareness of our inner and emotional world, revealing what was previously hidden.

With the moon fully illuminated, it creates a portal to some of the most potent energy for manifesting our desires and dream life. This portal connects us to our peak creative energy and deep-seated passions—the energy we need to create the life we desire. While the new moon phase is about planting seeds for manifestation, the full moon is about doing the work and moving energy to make those dreams reality. The full moon bridges these energies, reminding us of their importance beyond the night it shines brightest.

There are many ways to work with the full moon. To learn more about the basics of full moon energy, check out my blog post here and watch my class on lunar magic. Each full moon is unique, with different practices based on the zodiac sign it’s in—tonight, that’s the intense, transformative Scorpio.

The Flower Moon

As the sun warms the earth, coaxing flowers to bloom in vibrant abundance, the night sky shimmers with the radiant energy of the full moon known as the Flower Moon. The Flower Moon, a name given to the May full moon, originates from the Algonquin tribes of North America, who observed the explosion of blossoms during this time. Despite its name, the Moon doesn’t appear floral but glows in its usual golden or white hue. The energy of the Flower Moon is alive with growth, fertility, and the joy of spring’s peak, encouraging us to embrace abundance, creativity, and the beauty of nature’s cycles.

Following April’s Pink Moon, the Flower Moon truly embodies the heart of spring, aligning with Beltane’s fiery energy and the earth’s renewal. It’s a reminder to celebrate life’s blossoming, to plant intentions in fertile soil, and to dance with the fae under moonlight. Use the Flower Moon to reflect, recalibrate, and align with your soul’s path, letting its energy inspire bold new beginnings.

As with most pagan names, different cultures have their own names for the May full moon, reflecting themes of growth, fertility, and renewal:

  • Corn Planting Moon (Algonquin)
  • Milk Moon (Anglo-Saxon)
  • Hare Moon (Celtic)
  • Vesak Moon (Buddhist, celebrating Buddha’s birth)
  • Bright Moon (Cherokee)
  • Mulberry Moon (Chinese)
  • Moon When Leaves Are Green (Dakota)
  • Flower Moon (Modern Neo-Pagan)
  • Moon of the Horse (Sioux)
  • Planting Moon (Ojibwe)

So, Who is Scorpio?

As the eighth sign in the zodiac, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto (modern) and Mars (traditional), planets of transformation and passion. The water element, associated with emotion and intuition, governs Scorpio, adding a layer of depth and intensity to this sign. Known for its love of truth, power, and rebirth, Scorpio is the zodiac’s scorpion, diving into the mysteries of life and emerging renewed.

Scorpio, the Scorpion of Transformation

Scorpio is symbolized by the scorpion—a creature that sheds its skin to grow, representing death, rebirth, and resilience. This sign is driven by a quest for emotional truth, power, and hidden knowledge, seeking to transform beyond limitations. When the Moon is in the intense sign of Scorpio, you’ll feel a magnetic pull to confront your depths, uncover secrets, and embrace your inner strength. Scorpio doesn’t shy from the shadows; it dives in, emerging with newfound power, encouraging us to heal and rise with courage.

The Scorpio Constellation

The Scorpio constellation lies in the southern sky, its bright stars forming the shape of a scorpion with a curved tail. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was linked to the goddess Ishara, associated with love and war, while Greek mythology ties it to Orion, whose death by scorpion sting led to their eternal chase across the sky. The constellation’s heart, marked by the red star Antares, pulses with passion and transformation, aligning with Scorpio’s deep energy. For many cultures, Scorpio in the sky marked a time of harvest and preparation, reflecting its themes of renewal.

Scorpio the Sign of Transformation and Depth

Scorpio is a water sign driven by a thirst for emotional truth and transformation. It wants to explore the depths—psychologically, spiritually, and emotionally—seeking experiences that heal and empower the soul. Under this Full Moon, Scorpio’s energy will push us to face our shadows, release pain, and emerge renewed. It’s a time to honor your inner strength, to seek truth in your emotions, and to let go of what no longer serves you. Scorpio reminds us that life is a cycle of death and rebirth, and every layer we shed reveals our true power.

Scorpio the Sign of Power and Healing

Ruled by Pluto and Mars, Scorpio is the zodiac’s healer and alchemist, always seeking hidden power and wisdom through healing. During this Full Moon, the energies of Scorpio will amplify our desire for emotional clarity and empowerment. We’ll feel called to confront our deepest fears, to heal old wounds, and to harness our resilience. This is a time to trust your intuition, to learn from your past pain, and to share your strength with others. Scorpio’s intense depth can illuminate buried truths, helping us transform our lives with newfound power.

Pluto’s Transformative Influence is Active

Pluto, the planet of transformation and the underworld, is especially active under this Full Moon, magnifying Scorpio’s energy. Pluto encourages us to face our shadows, to release what binds us, and to trust in our capacity for rebirth. After a period of introspection, Pluto’s influence now urges us to dive into our emotional depths, to plant seeds of healing in the fertile soil of May, and to believe in the power that awaits. This transformative energy can help us manifest our deepest desires, but it also asks us to remain grounded in self-love for the journey.

Mars Adds a Fiery Intensity

Mars, the planet of action and passion, aligns with this Full Moon, adding a dynamic spark to Scorpio’s water. Mars will fuel our drive to pursue our emotional goals with courage and determination, but it can also make us obsessive. This intense energy encourages us to confront challenges head-on, but we must balance it with Scorpio’s intuition to avoid burnout. Mars’ influence makes this an ideal time for rituals focused on healing, empowerment, and breaking emotional barriers.

What to Be Cautious of During a Scorpio Full Moon

Scorpio is a revered sign for its depth and resilience, but its intense energy can have a shadow side. This Full Moon may make us overly secretive, leading to isolation or suppressed emotions. Scorpio’s piercing honesty can also stir jealousy or power struggles if we’re not mindful of our boundaries. Additionally, the desire for control might tempt us to resist vulnerability. Balance this energy by grounding yourself—connect with water, reflect before reacting, and embrace your emotions with compassion.

Scorpio Full Moon and Duality

As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy. First, the full moon itself embodies duality as a time of transformation and transition, pushing us into a liminal space where we confront obstacles and release what holds us back. This can be both hopeful and challenging, embodying light and shadow. Second, Scorpio’s duality lies in its balance of depth and rebirth. While it craves emotional intensity and truth, it also teaches us that true power comes from surrendering to transformation. Scorpio reminds us that duality—vulnerability and strength, death and renewal—is the key to profound growth.

Shadow Work Under the Scorpio Full Moon

Shadow work is the practice of confronting and integrating the hidden, suppressed parts of ourselves—our fears, insecurities, and unresolved wounds. The Flower Full Moon in Scorpio, with its watery, transformative energy, is a powerful time for shadow work. Scorpio’s piercing intensity illuminates the shadows we’ve buried, urging us to face them with raw honesty. This moon’s depth, amplified by Pluto, encourages us to dive into the abyss of our psyche, while Mars adds the courage to confront what we uncover. Chiron’s presence further deepens this work, as the Wounded Healer guides us to transform pain into empowerment.

To engage in shadow work, ask yourself what emotions you’ve been suppressing. Are you holding onto resentment that blocks your healing? Do you fear vulnerability, keeping your true self hidden? Journal these shadows, then use the moon’s energy to release them through rituals like burning a letter of grudges or meditating on your inner waters. Shadow work under this moon can lead to profound healing, helping you step into your most authentic, empowered self.

Flower Moon in Scorpio Ritual: Phoenix of Rebirth

This ritual harnesses the Flower Moon’s abundance and Scorpio’s transformative energy to release and renew your spirit.

What You’ll Need:

  • A small feather (to symbolize a phoenix)
  • A black or red candle
  • Fresh dark flowers (e.g., red roses or dahlias)
  • A piece of paper and pen
  • A bowl of water

Steps:

1. Prepare Your sacred container: On May 12th, under the Flower Moon, set up a sacred container. Place the candle in the center, surrounded by flowers. Light the candle, invoking Scorpio’s energy.

2. Set Your Intention: Write an intention on the paper—something you wish to release and transform (e.g., “I release my fear of vulnerability and rise anew”).

3. Charge Your Feather: Hold the feather, visualizing it as a phoenix. Say:

“Under the Flower Moon in Scorpio, I charge this feather with my intention. May I rise from the ashes with power and renewal.”

4. Release Your Intention: Submerge the paper in the bowl of water, imagining your old energy dissolving. Hold your feather and visualize a phoenix rising from the water.

5. Close the Ritual: Scatter the flowers in a body of water as an offering, saying:

“Thank you, Flower Moon and Scorpio, for guiding my rebirth. May my transformation deepen and empower.”

Keep the feather on your altar as a reminder of your rebirth throughout May.

After the ritual, journal your experience with these prompts to deepen your connection:

  • How did the intense energy of Scorpio feel during the ritual?
  • What truths or insights emerged as you set your intention?

Anchor into the Earth’s Embrace for Security and Pleasure Under the Taurus New Moon

The new moon in Taurus on April 27, 2025, arrives to bathe us in a grounding, sensual energy that invites us to root deeply into the earth and cultivate lasting abundance. This new moon, nestled in the steadfast, nurturing, and pleasure-seeking earth sign of Taurus, offers a sacred moment to plant seeds of stability, self-worth, and beauty in our lives. New moons are always a time to start fresh, set intentions, and envision your future—but this Taurus new moon, coming just after Earth Day, doubles as a powerful opportunity to connect with the natural world and honor your own worth. For me, this moon feels especially significant after my recent journey of embracing winter’s magic in Minnesota, as it continues the theme of aligning with nature’s cycles and finding peace in stillness.

Taurus is all about grounding, luxury, and the appreciation of life’s simple pleasures. This new moon encourages us to slow down, savor the moment, and build a foundation for long-term growth. As a sign ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, Taurus reminds us to prioritize self-care, indulge in sensory delights, and cultivate a deep sense of self-worth. This new moon is the time to connect with the most stable, abundant version of yourself—the one that makes you think, “I am worthy of all the beauty and richness life has to offer.” Let this New Moon in Taurus anchor you in the earth’s embrace, helping you manifest a life of security, pleasure, and enduring growth.

New moon what it is and why we honor it

Every month, the new moon ushers us into a fresh cycle, a moment to pause, reflect, and set intentions. Before we dive into Taurus’s earthy magic, let’s ground ourselves in the essence of the new moon itself.

For a deeper dive into lunar magic, explore my comprehensive guide here, or watch my class on YouTube with Divination Academy here!

Taurus: The Sign of Grounding and Abundance

Each new moon is amplified by the zodiac sign it occupies, and this time, we’re blessed with the steady, sensual energy of Taurus. So, who is Taurus?

Taurus, symbolized by the bull, is the second sign of the zodiac, governing those born between April 20 and May 20. As an earth sign ruled by Venus, Taurus embodies stability, beauty, and a deep connection to the physical world. It’s the sign of the gardener, the artist, and the lover of life’s pleasures—think blooming flowers, a warm meal, or the feel of soft grass beneath your feet. Taurus energy is slow, deliberate, and deeply rooted, encouraging us to build solid foundations for our dreams. It’s also a fixed sign, meaning it’s all about perseverance, loyalty, and seeing things through to the end.

Taurus Constellation

Taurus is one of largest constellations in the northern sky. The constellation is symbolized by the bull’s head. Not only that it is one of the oldest constellations and one of the first ones to spoken and written about. Its history dates back to the Bronze Age .It sits in the evening sky close to the famous constellation Orion and it includes a famous star cluster the pleidess.

According to Greek mythology, the constellation Taurus was placed in the sky by the god Zeus. That’s because Zeus changed himself into a beautiful white Bull to win the affections of the Phoenician princess Europa. After Europa hopped onto the Bull’s back, the Bull swam across the Mediterranean Sea, taking Europa all the way to the island of Crete. Later, Zeus and Europa became the parents of Minos, the legendary king of Crete. In another Greek myth, Zeus’s wife, Juno, changed her lover, Io, into a heifer or bull to hide her from Zeus

Meanwhile, the Zuni of New Mexico used the Pleiades cluster as an agricultural calendar. When the Pleiades – which the Zuni called the Seed Stars – disappeared into the western dusk in spring, they knew it was safe to plant their seeds, as the danger of frost had passed.

Now for the oldest myth I can find. In Babylonian mythology, the bull was known as the Heavenly Bull, or MUL.APIN. This constellation is connected to the story of Gilgamesh. He was the king of the Sumerian city state of Uruk. In the book The Epic of Gilgamesh, the king has to fight the Heavenly Bull. This animal was sent by the goddess Ishtar to kill Gilgamesh. She was so angry at him for not falling for her advances that she thought he deserved to die. Gilgamesh is considered to be represented by the constellation Orion, which is right next to Taurus. The story goes that they are still fighting their battle in the skies.

Taurus: The Sign of Sensuality and Stability

Taurus is the embodiment of earthy sensuality, ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure. This sign revels in the material world—think lush gardens, fine fabrics, and the scent of blooming flowers. Taurus energy is grounded, patient, and deeply connected to the body, encouraging us to slow down and savor life’s delights. As a fixed earth sign, Taurus is the rock of the zodiac, offering stability, reliability, and a steadfast commitment to growth.

This new moon in Taurus is a time to embrace your inner gardener, planting seeds that will grow into lasting abundance. Taurus, ruled by Venus, invites us to focus on self-love, beauty, and the creation of a secure foundation. We may feel a surge of desire to nurture ourselves, to indulge in sensory pleasures, and to build a life that feels both luxurious and stable. Use this energy to root deeply into your values, to honor your worth, and to cultivate a sense of peace that withstands life’s storms.

Taurus: The Sign of Self-Worth

Taurus rules the second house in astrology, often called the house of values and possessions. This house governs our relationship with money, self-worth, and the material world, reflecting how we build security and abundance in our lives. Taurus, as the ruler of this house, teaches us that true abundance begins with self-worth. This sign encourages us to value ourselves deeply, to recognize our inherent worth, and to create a life that reflects that value.

Taurus energy is a reminder that we are enough, just as we are. It’s the sign that helps us cultivate a strong sense of self-esteem, grounded in authenticity rather than external validation. During this new moon, focus on what makes you feel worthy, secure, and connected to your body and the earth. Taurus invites us to build a life that feels rich in every sense—emotionally, spiritually, and materially.

Themes of the Taurus New Moon

Every new moon carries themes tied to its zodiac sign, and this Taurus new moon is all about grounding, abundance, and self-worth. We’ll feel a deep pull to slow down, to root into the present moment, and to nurture ourselves with intention. This new moon is about building a foundation for lasting growth, indulging in life’s pleasures, and honoring our inherent value. If you’ve been neglecting your needs or doubting your worth, this is your cosmic invitation to prioritize yourself and create a life that feels secure and beautiful. Keep in mind that this new moon follows Earth Day, amplifying its earthy energy and encouraging us to deepen our connection with nature.

  • Grounding: Anchor yourself in the present and connect with the earth’s stability.
  • Abundance: Plant seeds for financial, emotional, and spiritual prosperity.
  • Self-Worth: Recognize your value and build a life that reflects it.
  • Sensuality: Indulge in sensory pleasures and honor your body.
  • Stability: Create a solid foundation for your dreams.
  • Patience: Embrace the slow, steady pace of growth.
  • Beauty: Surround yourself with beauty and create a life that feels luxurious.
  • Nurturing: Care for yourself and your environment with love.

What to Be Cautious Of With the Taurus New Moon

While Taurus energy is grounding and nurturing, it can also lead to stubbornness and resistance to change. Taurus loves comfort and stability, which might make us cling to old habits or routines, even when they no longer serve us. Be mindful of becoming too rigid—allow yourself to adapt and grow while staying rooted in your values. Additionally, Taurus’s love of luxury can tip into overindulgence, so balance your desire for pleasure with mindfulness and moderation.

This new moon also calls for balance between stability and growth. While Taurus encourages us to build a solid foundation, don’t let that anchor you into stagnation. Use this energy to create security, but remain open to new possibilities. As I’ve learned through my own journey with winter’s stillness, there’s magic in slowing down—but growth often requires us to step beyond our comfort zone, even in small ways.

Taurus and Duality

As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy I work with, including the new moon and the zodiac sign it occupies. Let’s explore the duality of Taurus. On one hand, Taurus is nurturing, sensual, and grounded, offering a stable foundation for growth and a deep appreciation for life’s pleasures. This energy is perfect for cultivating self-worth, building abundance, and rooting into the present moment. On the other hand, Taurus can be stubborn and resistant to change, sometimes leading to stagnation or an overattachment to material comforts. This duality reminds us that while stability is essential, we must also remain flexible to evolve.

The new moon itself is a liminal space, embodying duality through its balance of light and shadow. It’s a time of beginnings, but those beginnings are born from endings—a cycle of death and rebirth. Just as I learned to embrace winter’s stillness as a precursor to spring’s renewal, this Taurus new moon invites us to find harmony between grounding and growing, between indulgence and discipline.

Blossom with balance under the pink full moon in Libra

This month’s full moon graces the skies on April 12th bringing balance and harmony with the scales of Libra as the pink moon blossoms. The energy behind this Pink Full Moon is one of Action, taking advantage of opportunities, bringing dreams into fruition, and balancing our relationships. As the pink moon blooms we will feel more forward momentum and a greater sense of clarity when it comes to our path ahead in life. In the days and weeks following this Full Moon, we may feel that we have finally shed an old cycle as dead petals fall to the ground and new ones open and bloom. Bringing us into a compassionate place of balance with ourselves and in each of our relationships in life. Come join me in this blog post as our petals open and blossom with balance under the pink full moon in Libra.

First, What is the Full Moon

Over the centuries, the Moon has played a significant role in different cultures and traditions. The full moon simply put is when the moon is completely illuminated in the sky and it has reached it’s peak in this lunar cycle in the sky. When the moon is completely illuminated it’s time for all to reach full expression. The full moon is the most powerful and potent time of the entire lunar cycle.

A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). The full moon greatly affects humans and it’s no wonder it does because, there’s a scientific reason for this – we are made up of 60% or more of water. Full Moons are the peak point of the lunar cycle: at this time of the month, the light of the Sun is fully illuminating the Moon, and the luminaries are exactly opposing one another from our perspective on Earth. This potent alignment offers us opportunities to gain more awareness about what is moving in our inner and emotional world, and information previously uncertain or hidden could be revealed at this time.

With the moon being fully illuminated it creates this portal to some of the most potent energy to connect to for us to manifest our desires and dream life. This portal creates a connection to our peak creative energy and the deep seated creative passions we all have within us. This creative energy and power is the energy we need to actually do and create the things and lifestyle we need to manifest what we desire. With the new moon phase being about planting the seeds of what you want to manifest, the full moon is about actually doing the work and moving the energy to make your manifesting happen. The full moon allows you to bridge the connection between these energies and themes and bring them into your life while reminding you how important it is to have them in your life not only when the moon is illuminated in the sky for you to see.

There are so many ways to work with the full moon, to learn more about the basics of working with the full moon energy check out my blog post here and you can watch my class all about lunar magic. But, remember each full moon will be slightly different and have different practices to add and different ways to do it based on which zodiac sign the full moon is currently in at the time.

The Pink Moon

As the sun brightens up our lives with longer days beckoning the plants to grow and flowers to bloom once again. The night time skies shimmer with the ethereal and refreshing energy of the full moon known as the Pink moon. The Pink Moon is a name given to the April full moon, originating from the pink flowers, known as wild creeping phlox, that typically bloom during this time of year in North America. However, despite the name, the Moon itself doesn’t actually appear pink but instead takes on its usual golden or white hue. The energy of this pink moon is palpable with its anticipation for new opportunities, new beginnings, and fresh intentions. Just as the pink flowers of spring are blooming after a long winter, this full moon encourages us to shed the old and embrace the new.

Even though the Worm moon last month in March was the first full moon of spring; this pink moon is the one that really tells us spring has sprung! The pink moon is a reminder of the cyclical nature of life, encouraging us to embrace transformation, nurture growth, and find beauty in the always changing world around us. Use the Pink Moon as a time to pause, reflect, recalibrate, and make sure you’re moving in the right direction. Under the shimmering glow of this pink moon you will feel a pull to truth-seeking, boundary-setting, and energetic maintenance.

As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the Pink moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are; the end of Winter, the beginning of Spring, new beginnings, renewal, and the movement of nature.

So, who is Libra?

As the seventh sign in the zodiac, Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and relationships. The air element, associated with intellect and communication, governs Libra, adding a layer of social intelligence and charm to this sign and how they interact with the rest of the zodiac. Libra is known for its need for balance and harmony, its social grace, its ability to foster cooperation and compromise, and its keen eye for beauty and aesthetics.

Libra, the scales of balance

Libra is unique in the zodiac for it is the only one represented by an inanimate object; the scales. All other signs are represented by a human or an animal. The symbol of the scales represents the necessity of balance in every area of life. They are a reflection of what we are truly working to achieve: a balance between light and dark with the right amounts of each. Not only in our live but, also in the energy balance of the multiverse as a whole. When the Moon is in the accommodating sign of Libra, you will feel much more focused on creating balance and harmony all around you. You will be forced to set things on the cosmic scale of the multiverse and see their true nature and weight. Libra doesn’t just appreciate balance and what the scales has to say. Libra also seeks out the imbalance, and welcomes it with open arms so they can fix it. They view it as their cosmic responsibility to set everything on the scales around them to maintain cosmic balance and harmony.

The Libra Constellation

Libras constellation lies in the southern sky. The association of this region of the sky with scales was seen in both babylon and Rome. It is said that the Moon was in Libra when Rome was founded even. Which made Libra very sacred to the people of the city. The Romans considered Libra to be associated with balanced seasons and equal length of night and day. Most likely due to the fact that when this constellation is the most visible is right after the autumn equinox. The Romans believed the scales were held by the goddesses Astraea or Lustitia, the goddess of truth and justice, up in the night sky. Unlike the romans the ancient Greeks, did not hold Libra in such high esteem. For they thought Libra was just the outstretched claws of the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion without its own myth for it being placed amongst the stars.

Libra the sign of Fairness and Justice

Libra is an intellectual sign concerned with fairness, equality, and justice. Libra wants everyone in the world to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and to have equal rights and protections. No one is above anyone else on this planet for we all are one and from the same source, and Libras scales force you to remember that. Libra feels deep pain when looking down from the stars, to see all of the fighting and destruction in the world. They seek harmony and honesty, using their innate empathy as a driving force to seek justice for others. Libra craves for everyone to just get along living alongside each other in peach and harmony. They are willing to do anything and to make any compromise to get it, even at the cost of themselves at times.

Libra the sign of connection and relationships

Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure. During this full Moon, the energies of Libra will be magnified, inviting us to focus on creating balance in our relationships, and remembering the importance of the dance of give and take to maintain it. Libra’s essence is about fostering meaningful connections and harmony with all those around us. Libra does this by finding ways to unite opposites and achieve compromise through active and loving relationships. It’s also a time to envision healthy, supportive relationships that can honor our soul’s path while we honor others’ paths. It can be challenging to form partnerships where both people’s individual life paths are honored. We need partners who can walk with us while walking their own paths.

Chiron the wounded healer is active

Chiron, the asteroid named after the wounded healer, is active under this Full Moon adding a layer of potent healing to the transformative energy of the pink moon. By forcing us to tend to and weed out the wounds that hurt us the most to allow us to fully bloom. This is because, Chiron represents the forever wounds that become a part of our being. They are the wounds that cut us to our core, the ones we think about when we are alone at night, and the ones that never truly leave us. Chiron is one of my favorite energies to work with and I feel he is overlooked so much when he is active. So, who is he? He is the most famous centaur, from later Greek Mythology, and he was known to be a wise man and a healer. In Greek Mythology, it was Chiron who taught humanity the constellations. That’s huge! Chiron is our celestial teacher. On top of that, many well known Greek gods and goddesses looked to him for spiritual advice, most will know him nowadays through the hero Hercules. Chiron wasn’t necessarily on a self-healing journey, but by being of service to others and sharing his story as a teacher, he too, experienced healing and became known as the wisest healer and teacher of them all. But remember, Chiron’s energy is not about “fixing” your wounds, rather it’s about radically accepting them. It’s about knowing that our wounds are part of this earthly experience and don’t prevent us from being able to lead a beautiful and fulfilling life . One that is full of purpose instead of suffering. Chiron wants us to acknowledge our wounds as a part of the fabric of our destiny, and something that can make us stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. When Chiron is active some of the most profound healing can happen.  To learn more about him check out my guide HERE!

Venus the planet of love goes direct

Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, is also adding a third layer of healing under this Full Moon as she prepares to emerge from the underworld. After being retrograde since March 1st forcing us into the shadows of our hearts and the wounds of our relationships. She will be pulling on our hearts to act on those insights she has shown us. By forcing us this past month to question our relationships or dynamics and patterns playing out within them. Those cycles we noticed with our loved ones we are wanting to break? Now is the time to be able to do just that with Venus’s compassionate embrace. Be willing to release or let something go that no longer aligns with this new rebirth of the heart that Venus has been instigating for us. Then watch as your relationships bloom with a deepened love under Venus and the pink full moon.

What to be cautious of during a Libra full moon

Libra is one of the most beloved signs in the zodiac, I think mainly due to its loving, and compassionate nature. That is really truly willing to do anything for you to keep the peace, including avoiding at all cost confrontation and conflict. While this energy will have a loving and reviving energy to our relationships, connections, and the bonds we hold most dear. We do have a few things to be cautious of and keep in mind with this Libra new moon and its energy. Libra’s deep desire to maintain the peace and harmony around us may allow us to let others run us over, take advantage of us, and we may just sit and duck our heads. Instead of speaking up for ourselves, you may choose to just keep the peace instead. Be cautious with this because, peace in the community is not worth the cost of your inner peace. To gain true balance and equilibrium in the multiverse your happiness matters just like the rest. Let’s not forget as an air sign as well Libra has a gift with their tongue and is able to make you feel quite charming. So, if you do speak up keep that in mind with the words you choose and whom you speak them too. Don’t unwilling use you golden tongue right now to lure others to you whom shouldn’t be.

Libra full moon and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First let’s talk about the duality of the full moon. The full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality. Second,  let’s talk about the duality of Libra. With Libra I feel the duality is pretty obvious since this energy is all about balance and equilibrium. Which means equal parts of two different things. When Libra sets things on the scales they are acknowledging the importance of both existing but, that finding balance between both is key. Libra reminds us that embracing duality and balance is the key; for everything is all connected.

Intention and release bay leaf ritual to balance the scales

The ritual I am bringing to you for this Libra full moon will allow you to not only release patterns and relationships that no longer serve you. But, will allow you to balance the scales and create equilibrium in your release work. By not only using the energy of the full moon to let go of the hurts from the past that are keeping you stuck. But, to also attract your manifestations on the other side of the scale weighing it down. You see to create true equilibrium and balance in your life you can’t just release the things holding you back in the past. You must also set new intentions for the future. Try this spell below to even the scales of your life underneath the light of Libra full moon tonight.

What you will need:

  • 6 bay leaves
  • a pen or marker
  • 3 small bowls
  • a white candle
  • a black candle

How to cast this spell:

First, take your time to do whatever it is you need to get into a magical state to be able to create a sacred container. If this means you meditate, light incense, lower the lights, whatever it is you need, do it now. Next make sure to take your 3 bowls and place them in a line of three in front of you with a white candle in the one on the right and a black candle in the one on the left. Once, you feel your physical environment is set up, I want you to get into sacred container by taking some deep breaths and envisioning the new moon above you. Sending grey, silvery light full of balance, equilibrium, and duality from the scales of Libra down on you tonight. Now in your right hand place 3 bay leaves, envisioning white light of intention and planting seeds. Allow that light to guide your heart and show you what it is you need to start. Whether it be new habits, relationships, or finding new ways to do your part. Follow that light to see what it is you need to truly live a life of balance, fairness, and harmony. Once you feel those intentions anchored in your heart take your pen or marker and write each of the three on separate bay leaves. Than place in the bowl on the right, and light your white candle connecting those intentions to the white energy of intention and the full moon above. Next, take a deep breath and in your left hand place 3 bay leaves, envisioning black light of letting go and releasing. Allow that light to guide your heart and show you what it is that is blocking you. From truly being able to reach a state of balance, fairness, and equality. Is there an addiction, a trauma, or relationship no longer creating growth but holding you back? What is sitting there in the shadows of you heart tipping your scales to far into the dark? Once you feel you know what that blockage is for you to release and you feel ready to let it go. Take your pen or marker and write each of the three blockages on separate bay leaves. Than place them in the bowl on the left, and light the black candle, connecting you with the black energy of our shadow and releasing. Next, take the deepest of breaths pick up the bay leaves on the right and as you light them in the candle flame repeat of white, ” I light these leaves to represent the light of my intentions set this night.” Next, take another deep breath and pick up the bay leaves on the left and as you light them in the black candle flame repeat, “I light these bay leave to represent the darkness and past in my life I choose to release”. Lastly, take the ashes from the bowl on both left and the right and pour them into the center bowl as you say. “”As the scales of Libra find balance tonight, so too shall my life be in perfect equilibrium and invoke peace and harmony for myself and all those around me.” Take this bowl of balance created with your intentions planted, and your blockages released and leave it in the center of your altar until the new moon shines its silvery rays again over your life.

Ignite a fire of change and a passionate pursuit of our goals with the Aries new moon and solar eclipse

The new moon in March is set to ignite the night sky with the passionate energy allowing us to met any challenge and obstacle with determination. This new moon occupied by a solar eclipse is here to challenge your comfort zone, push you toward growth, and help you step into a more authentic version of yourself. This new moon we will find ourselves in the headstrong, motivated, energetic, confident, independent, and passionate fire sign of the ram, Aries. New moons are an opportunity to start fresh, plant seeds, and envision your future—and this month’s new moon in Aries happens to be the first new moon of the astrological year. In other words? Consider it time to set your “New Year’s” resolutions for the astrological year. For me this is the third time during the year I set year long resolutions. This moon in particular means really big change, taking big, bold, brave steps towards the life your truly want to live.

Aries is full of energy, enthusiasm, and spunk, and wants to get things going. The new moon in Aries is an opportune time to initiate change, take action towards goals, and renew oneself. Aries is also the sign of Self, which means you get to be a little bit selfish during this new moon phase. During this new moon in Aries, it’s time for you to focus on yourself and be willing to face change head on without hesitation in your mind or fear in your heart. This new moon is the time to connect with your highest, best, most amazing version of you – the one that makes you think “holy sh*t I can’t believe this is my life.” Let this new Moon in Aries ignite a fiery burst of energy within you. Allow it to start a bright, burning, raging fire of change, and a passionate pursuit of our goals.

New moon what it is and why we honor it

Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we ignite our passion and take determined action with the Aries new moon. The new moon is the time to reflect and cleanse your energy. It is a time to set your intentions for what you wish to attract this lunar cycle. But, remember every intention set requires action and energy from your part as well. You can’t just set an intention and miraculously it is yours. You must also put the movement of energy behind it with action steps.

The new moon energy is there to support you in manifesting what you want. The new moon is a time to allow new ideas and energy to flow with you. It is a time to honor new beginnings, and the turning over of a cycle. Think of these intentions as seeds you are planting for this lunar cycle to be ready to harvest by the full moon. Use this time to rest, reflect, and plant what you will grow just as your ancestors across many cultures did while there was little light in the night sky for them to use.

Each New Moon is unique, offering its own magic within each month. To learn more about the foundations of working with the new moon, and how it affects you, read more here in my previous blog post.  And to learn more about the moon in general and lunar magic you can read my comprehensive guide on the topic here. The Solar eclipse energy

Before we talk about the ram and the Aries energy the new moon is going to be in we have another energy to talk about. The solar eclipse that will be taking place as well. So what is a solar eclipse?  A Solar Eclipse appears when the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out the light of the Sun. It’s considered to be three times more potent than a regular New Moon because it’s happening in close proximity to the Lunar Nodes of Destiny. During a solar eclipse symbolically, the energies associated with the Moon eclipse those of the Sun, so that feelings and emotions dominate over the ego and the will.

Beyond its astronomical wonder, the solar eclipse holds spiritual significance for many. It symbolizes a time of darkness and spiritual renewal, offering an opportunity for introspection and the shedding of old energies. In astrology, the eclipse signifies the darkness of the ego and the potential for spiritual rebirth, marking a moment to release past patterns and embrace new perspectives.

Eclipses bring about energy of great change meant to shake things up. To create an intense time of great transformation, rebirth, and growth. A solar eclipse specifically is a time of new beginnings, taking initiative, and starting brand new things like jobs, businesses, projects, and relationships. This energy is all about change, transformation, good luck, growth, and abundance. This energy is known to change the wheel of fate and awaken things for us. Despite the fated nature, Eclipses should not be feared but welcomed as a source of evolutionary change that leads to a powerful yet often uncomfortable, and even painful transformation

Who is Aries?

Like, I said before each new moon will be amplified and influenced by the zodiac sign we find it in and this time the new moon is in the sign of Aries. So who is Aries?

Aries symbolized by the ram is the first sign of the zodiac which makes it the go-getter of the Zodiac. People born between March 21st and April 19th are considered Aries. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries symbolizes new beginnings, assertiveness, and the pursuit of our passions. It’s ruled by Mars, the God of war, making the ram a fearless fighter. Aries is a fire sign, and its energy is passionate, dynamic, and driven. Through the sign of the Ram, we tap into our inner fire, embody our inner warrior, and work on developing a conscious relationship with our anger. Aries is the sign to commit to personal goals and have the fiery motivation to see them through to the end. Aries is the sign to connect us with our capacity to be the leaders of our lives, to take paths that no one ever walked before, to go toward the direction that instinctively calls to us. Aries, is known to be a little bit faster to react because, they are more intrigued by doing something they’ve never done before. Being ruled by mars Aries is much more willing to take a risk or take a gamble by pushing into the unknown and usually being the first one to do it as well.

Aries Constellation

Aries is one of the smallest constellations of the zodiac sitting in Northern sky. This constellation is located between Pisces to the west and Taurus to the east. The constellation has been associated with a ram since ancient times. In ancient Babylon, the Aries star constellation was known by the name CHUN-GA, or Aries. Also, the Persians, the ancient Egyptians, and the Minoans called it ‘Aries’ as well. Ultimately, by way of Greece, the constellation came to Rome, where astronomers gave it the Latin name ‘Aries’; meaning ram.

I find that Aries has one of the largest varieties of legends and myths about it’s placement in the skies and it’s association with the ram. One of the simplest and most commonly known legends attributes the name of the constellation to Zeus, who turned into a ram while fleeing the overpowering Titans which is why the image was place amongst the stars.

In another, less well known telling of the Aries constellation myth, a Roman writer Hygenius describes how Bacchus aka Dionysus (greek), the god of wine, together with his cheerful entourage, unexpectedly lost his way in the vastness of the Libyan Desert. In this dry wasteland, they were soon plagued by terrible thirst. Fortunately, they met a friendly ram that led Bacchus and his party to a source of water, saving them from certain death. In gratitude, Bacchus placed the ram amongst the stars in the heavens for all eternity.

In the most well known Aries constellation myth of Greek origin, King Athamas appointed his eldest son Phrixos as his heir to the throne. His current wife, Ino, however, wanted to see her own son named the heir. For this reason, the queen devised a plan to cause the crops of their land to not flourish and grow. She let the seed rot and spoil, so when they were planted the following year they would not be able to grow.

Once the crops that season had failed to grow she convinced her husband, the king to consult an oracle that she had visited prior and had under her control. He was told that if he wanted to avoid another crop failure in the following year, he would have to sacrifice his son Phrixos; the one he had named as his heir.

The king had agreed but, on the day of the offering, a magnificent ram, summoned by Nephele (Phrixos’s biological mother) appeared in a shining golden fleece. Phrixos and his sister, Helle, swiftly mounted the ram’s back and flew away. But high above the strait separating Europe and Asia, Helle fell into the sea, where she drowned. The ram flew on with Phrixos on his back to the land of Colchis, where the boy was well received. Upon the Ram’s wish as a thanks for his service; Phrixos sacrificed him to the gods where he now resides in the heavens among the stars for all eternity.

Aries The Primal Sign Of Passion

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac which means it is the big bang, our life force, the element of fire, primal passion, anger, rage, and ruled by Mars the God of War- this sign is the sign of life itself. It is the spark needed to light the tinder for existence to evolve. It is our will to persist no matter what obstacles are in our way. This sign is a Cardinal sign which means it is a leader, an initiator, and a visionary of the cosmos.

This new Moon is a time to embrace our inner warrior. Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of action, passion, and aggression. During this full Moon, we may feel a surge of energy, passion, and assertiveness. We can use this energy to break free from old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us. We can assert our boundaries, speak our truth, and take action toward our deepest desires with the flames of burning passion.

Aries The Sign Of Independence

This sign is also a sign of independence which means it’s a time to focus on what YOU really truly want for YOU and not for others. You will feel many things coming up for you that may surprise you especially if you are a people pleaser. The energy of Aries really pushes you to think about what makes YOU and YOU alone happy and whole. One of Aries’ “lessons” is to show a pure part of ourselves to the world. By acting upon our own inner impulses (constructive ones!) without fear, and by abandoning the need to refine these impulses based on what others might want us to do or what others think we “should” do, we learn more about ourselves. If we learn to depend on ourselves, we exude an all-new aura of strength that comes from personal integrity and confidence, and strength.

Aries the sign of action

Aries is the zodiac sign of action, as it is associated with initiation, taking the lead, and making a mark on the world. Aries draws fire into the atmosphere, stimulating life force and vitality pushing us into action. Aries it the energy that lights the fire in our soul driving us to make our mark on the world. Aries teaches us that courage is the key to unlocking our full potential. And that comes from connecting your head to your heart, focusing your will, and taking consistent action. Aries is a cardinal sign, which means it is associated with taking the lead and driving change. Aries is nothing if not bold, preferring to act first and think later never hesitating to step into the unknown.

Aries the ruler of self

Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is also the ruler of the first house in astrology. Which is often called the house of self. In this house you are given a window into understanding more about your outward appearance, traits, characteristics, outlook, and sense of expression. This house is the location of your ascendant or rising sign, which speaks to how you present yourself in the world. Since Aries rules this house, Aries represents consciousness, that first awareness of the self, separate from others and eager to explore the world. Aries is the personal fire deep within your soul, it’s our true self. Aries is the zodiac sign that blazes with a strong sense of self-worth, self-assurance, and self- confidence. Aries has the purest sense of self it’s the sign that truly navigates life in the 1st person perspective and approaches the world only as they authentically are.

Themes of the Aries new moon

Every new Moon contains its own themes, which are related to the sign that it falls under. This time, we experience the new Moon in the energetic, motivated, independent, confident, and headstrong Aries. We feel that in a fiery burst of passion, strength, and determination under the glow of the new moon. This new moon is all about utilizing the fire within, embracing leadership, and conquering fears. If you’ve been holding back, this is your cosmic green light to move forward with intentional action.

Keep in mind that the new Moon relates to the start of your journey to manifest your desires and dreams. This will be especially strong this new moon being in the sign of our self, determination, and motivation. We will feel a blazing strong pull to take intentional steps down the path where all our goals will be met. So, try and have any of your workings based on these topics, and be grounded in those seeds of intention you are determined to plant this new moon. Don’t forget this full moon is layered with many energies for you to connect to as well like Spring equinox that just woke us and nature up from our winter hibernation.

What To Be Cautious Of With The Aries new Moon

Amidst the beauty of this lunar energy, there may also be feelings of explosive anger and outbursts. The energy of Aries is grounded in Mars, which is all about aggression, war, and conflict. So, take the time to stop and think before you let the little things allow you to blow up right now and create conflicts in your life by making small things bigger than they need to be. It is essential during this time to stay grounded, and connected to who you are so your emotions don’t allow you to wander from your goals, let your ego get in the way, or allow your anger to create unnecessary conflict with others.

Also remember, as you tap into Aries’ pioneering spirit, that new Moons also highlight balance not just new beginnings. While you may feel the urge to charge ahead, don’t forget to pause, reflect, and ensure that your actions align with your higher purpose. Aries can sometimes push us toward impulsive decisions, so let the fire of this new Moon guide you with both confidence and mindfulness. It’s great to let our passion and motivation propel us forward without fear, but also remember that fear does serve a purpose. It keeps us safe and whole. So, while you use that bold, assertive, and headstrong Aries energy to pursue your dreams and goals make sure you listen to red flags of urgent danger that pop up along the way.

Aries and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. This includes the full moon and the energy of the zodiac sign it currently is in. First, let’s look at the duality of Aries itself. Aries is known for being assertive and enjoying excitement, which can make it an energy that is full of passion, confidence and a bit impulsive. Which is an amazing energy for being able to truly let go of things no longer serving you by burning it away and moving forward in life with fiery motivation and passion. It can also be a potent time to really take steps towards the biggest goals for you unique path in life. However, it can also be known for that passion turning into a fiery temper. Which can cause us to lash out in anger towards those who are only trying to help us meet our goals and walk down our intended path. Once we feel discord in our relationships because of our own anger, it can make us feel isolated and cause us to no longer focus on the passion of this energy to meet our goals. Second, the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space, energy, and time. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from an ending and death.

Ritual To Connect To Your Anger

Working with our anger can be a powerful, potent, and liberating experience. Anger in and of itself is not a negative. No emotion is negative since every emotion serves a function and is sending us a message. How we use our anger is what determines whether it’s constructive or destructive. As the Aries new moon summons your inner warrior, think of your anger as a battle cry to pay attention to your boundaries, your passions, and your unmet needs and/or desires. If you’ve been letting someone push you around, it’s time to address the unworkable behavior and create a new way of interacting. Don’t be afraid to simply just let some pent up anger out as well by just letting a scream, yell, shout, or cry out to mother nature and the cosmos.

Use the journal prompts below to connect to your anger in a quiet sacred container. You can amplify the affect right now by having a red, orange, or white candle burning next to you as you do this work. The candle will help you connect to the element of fire, the planet mars, and the energy of Aries. Once you have completed the prompts below, you can than take the answers and burn the list in your candle flame to release any of the unwanted and negative affects of the anger you have been harnessing during this session. Don’t forget to visualize you harnessing your anger in a productive and constructive way in the future to manifest it into you life as you are also releasing the unwanted affects.

  • How does my anger hold me back?
  • When was the last time you felt very angry and what was the trigger?
  • What happens to your body when you are angry?
  • Are there any behaviors you do when you are angry you are not angry or happy about?
  • How do you currently handle anger? How would you like to handle your anger?
  • Do you have areas in your life you need to harness your anger to be more assertive?

Reorganize your life to release control with the Worm full blood moon in Virgo during a lunar eclipse

The March full moon graces the skies on March 14th as the maiden is just about to be stepping back onto Earth beckoning the flowers to blossom and bloom in the sign Virgo. Virgo is the sign of the psyche, healing, and analyzing our actions of the past, present, and future. The Full Moon in March is here to remind us of the resilience in the self sacrificing maiden. To remember that now is not the time to lose hope. To always have faith even if your systems are being destroyed and order is being lost . Change is hard but we need to realize that any sort of change, in whatever form, will lead us to different places. New ways of doing things, leading to new systems being put in place, and new ways to help those around you. When we let go of the need to control every outcome, and know every detail of the plan ahead of time; we can go to places even we fail to imagine or dream for ourselves to reach. This full moon will illuminate the importance of the connection we have to our physical vessels and bodies. Giving us a portal to connect to it under its shining silvery rays of light. This is because, Virgo has the ability to listen to their bodies, connect with higher selves, and follow their hearts. This also helps us stay grounded. And this is its greatest gift. Come join me in this blog post as we follow the worm trails under the Earthly blood red light of the Virgo full moon together.

The Worm Moon

As the last whispers of winter fade and the first hints of spring begin to unfold, the Full Moon of March rises, casting a soft glow over the new life beginning to bloom on earth. This is a time when nature starts to stir from its slumber, and we, too, feel the pull of new beginnings. This means the creatures and critters that are crucial for every ecosystem living deep down in the nutrient rich soil; the worms begin to come out. As the worms emerge from their winter slumbers and begin reclaiming their places among the dirt and foliage. Their trails are like beacons to the robins welcoming them back to feed and usher in Spring. This is why the full moon of March and final full moon of winter is most commonly known as the worm full moon. This full moon is all about hearing the last fading whispers of Winter as the ground and snow begins to unthaw and we begin to welcome the warmth, hope, and new life of Spring.

This worm full moon is overflowing with energy during it that is palpable in the air around us and electrifying to our bones. It’s a full moon that is one of the most transformative throughout the lunar year. Allowing us to break down everything we have been taking in during our introspective winter. To digest it and keep t he nutrients needed while releasing the things that only cause us harm, illness, or even death. Just like the earthworms do down deep beneath the soil in our gardens allowing our seeds to be nourished and grow. Worms remind us to dig through resistance to forge new paths. Because, Spring can be an intense, messy, and muddy season of change. If you’ve been stuck, hesitant, or doubting your next move, the worm full moon encourages you to keep moving. Keep digging, keep creating new tunnels, and the way forward will reveal itself as you go. Don’t let the mud thick with energy of both Winter and Spring keep you stuck in place any longer this month.

As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the cold moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are; the end of Winter, the beginning of Spring, new beginnings, renewal, or March’s unpredictable weather.

  • Full Crust Moon
  • Wind Strong Moon (Pueblo)

The lunar eclipse energy

So, what about the lunar eclipse energy happening right now? if you go online especially on social media you will see countless warnings telling you not to do any workings during a lunar eclipse including making moon water. They say its a time of bad omens, and a time that is too chaotic to harness and work with. I simply don’t agree with this. This may be because I am a grey witch. I just don’t see why we can’t work with a moon phase that is chaotic. The universe and all that exists within it sprouted from chaos or nothingness. This is a common theme in many different belief systems, cultures, and stories across the Earth and time like in Mesopotamia with the goddess Tiamat. So, wouldn’t working with chaos like the lunar eclipse be a very primal and potent things for us humans to do? I think so. But, it will be up to you and what you decide for your own practices and beliefs.

This eclipse is also a time to close a karmic chapter and cycle in our lives and begin writing the next new chapter. Eclipses tie to endings, so this can be a big eclipse for finishing something. To finish something that is meant to truly allow us to move and heal in our lives and evolve. Eclipses are times of release and truth-telling. Even though the eclipse is in intellectual, analytical, and practical Virgo, it’ll heighten our emotions and urge us to release the past. To reorganize our thoughts, emotions, and inner feelings allowing us to declutter our mental and spiritual space. This full moon and lunar eclipse energy combined together will be a huge time for releasing baggage, whether it’s spiritual, emotional, subconscious, or karmic.

What is a blood moon?

Right now we have another energy affecting this full moon that while it sounds eerie has quite the opposite affect and has been happening for thousands of years. First, what is a blood moon? Due to the moon’s eerie, color-shifted appearance during total lunar eclipses, these full moons are often nicknamed “blood moons.” So, in other words blood moons are simply just a nick name for or another way to describe a lunar eclipses. Remember a total lunar eclipse means that the Earth has moved fully between the sun and the full moon. The sun’s light is blocked from reflecting off the moon, giving us the striking yet eerie red color that has been known for hundreds of years as the blood moon. What’s really unique about the blood moon is that is doesn’t happen all night long but, instead for a pocket of time. Typically lasting about only 2 hours. Not only that, they only happen twice a year! Meaning this is a rare moment of time and portal of energy we have a chance to tap into.

So what is that energy you can tap into during a blood moon? Since the blood moon is connected to a lunar eclipse, it naturally speaks to new beginnings, definite endings, and intense culminations. A lunar eclipse is a great time to do something you are afraid of or come to an important decision, and a blood moon only heightens this effect. Pushing us harder to close a chapter that no longer serves us, to allow a new beginning to open. During this blood moon you may feel intense emotions like anxiety or stress while equally feeling extreme happiness or joy. Just follow those emotions and let them take you on the ride you need in order to close a chapter and open your next one.

So, who is Virgo?

This sign gets a lot of crap in the zodiac and many do not like to work with it and we often see people talking about how this is their most hated sign and energy to work with. For me this moon is one of my favorites every time it comes around. Maybe, it’s because I not only am a Virgo moon and rising, but I have Virgo in 9 of my houses so, when this moon comes around I personally am amplified. Or, maybe it’s because this energy is so dense and steeped in duality and movement. Which, I just simply can not wait to see what I can accomplish and get done while in it. But, let’s talk about who Virgo is to the Zodiac and the energy she represents.

Virgo is represented by the virgin or maiden archetype and is deeply connected to the element of earth and is a mutable sign. Virgo is an Earth sign so it’s practical, stable, and grounded but, it’s also related to Mercury. Which means it has an active mind and is related to communication as well. Virgo reminds us of the importance of maintaining a solid connection with the Earth and encourages us to connect with the divine order amidst the vast universal chaos. It reminds us the comfort the bounty of the earth has to offer all around us and the beauty order can create in nature.

The sign of Virgo, is rooted in the physical world which makes Virgo the sign of health and wellness, so right now we may focus on trying to work on health issues. This includes scheduling needed medical appointments, changing your eating habits, hydrating yourself, adding exercise, and adjusting your sleep schedule. Virgo’s ruling planet Mercury has dominion over the brain and the nervous system, which reminds us of the links between the mind and the functions of the body. This can be the perfect energy to use to help you eliminate a bad habit, or to quit something that is causing you harm.

Virgo can also be seen across many pantheons as a key representation to the seasons, duality, and a key part to the divine feminine energy we all are connected to. Virgo is represented by the maiden and virgin energy making her vital to the triple goddess representation of the divine feminine energy. She represents and connects us to the first pivotal transformation and shift we go thru in our lives moving from child to a maiden before the next phase into the mother energy of our lives. You see this energy and representation with goddess like Persephone and her story of transformation to power thru duality.

Virgo the Maiden/Virgin

Unlike the majority of other zodiac signs, the symbol for Virgo is very unique since it is not an animal. Instead, the symbol is the beautiful maiden or the virgin and is depicted as a young woman carrying a sheaf of wheat, an image that can be interpreted as a fertility goddess or a harvest maiden. The maiden stands for beauty, purity, and tranquility. Virgo translates to “virgin” in Latin and the maiden is symbolic of this translation but, not in a sexual sense like we know it as now. It is referring to the definition of the word long before that. With it meaning a woman who was “one-in-herself.” or who wasn’t attached to a man. So, this sign really is about the power the divine feminine has in her own right. The Maiden’s presence amongst the stars is considered a reflection of patience, integrity, and honor it takes to wield title. Virgo displays all of these traits within the zodiac. The Virgo symbol of the Maiden also expresses the service-oriented qualities of this zodiac sign. The parts of Virgo that exist to give up all of themselves in service of others. To care for others, and make sure everyone around them lacks for nothing. Even if it means they will deny themselves and go without those things their entire lives. We see this in the fact that the maiden is the sign associated with Sprig and the harvest. Both pivotal points of the year when the people get all they need to be nourished and survived. As a grounded earth sign and an analytical mutable sign, Virgo is easily the purist intentioned of the zodiac. Which comes with a high level of need for purity, cleanliness, and order in life.

The Virgo Constellation

Virgo is the largest constellation of the Zodiac and the second largest constellation in the sky with hydra being the only one larger. It is located between the constellations Leo and Libra. It contains the bright star Spica, aka the Autumn equinox star. It also contains many exoplanets and deep-space objects. The constellation is widely associated with the harvest which is why it is known as the Autumn equinox star. It marks the part of the sky where the Sun rises in autumn, when crops are harvested. In some Greek stories and myths, Virgo is Persephone, the daughter of the Greek goddess Demeter who ruled over the harvests.

While in others, maybe the most common myth; Virgo relates to Dike, the Greek goddess of justice. Dike was the daughter of Zeus and Greek Titaness Themis. In Greek mythology, Dike lived in the Golden Age of mankind. She was born a mortal and placed on Earth to rule over human justice. The Golden Age was marked by prosperity and peace, everlasting spring, and humans never knowing old age. When Zeus fulfilled the old prophecy and overthrew his father, this marked the beginning of the Silver Age, which was not as prosperous. Zeus introduced the four seasons and humans no longer honored the gods as they had used to. Dike gave a speech to the entire race, warning them about the dangers of leaving behind the ideals of their predecessors and saying worse was yet to come. Then she flew to the mountains, turning her back on humans. When the Bronze and Iron Ages came and humans started warring among themselves, Dike left the Earth altogether, and flew to the heavens.

A few other smaller known mentions I can find associated with this constellation are; the corn goddess Atargatis, the Syrian goddess of fertility, and Erigone, the daughter of Icarius, who hanged herself after her father’s death. Plus, historians Eratosthenes and Hyginus also associate the constellation Virgo with Tyche, the goddess of fortune, even though Tyche is usually depicted as holding the horn of plenty and not an ear of grain.

Virgo the Practical and analytical mind

Virgo is deeply connected to our practical and analytical side of our mind and it is heightened with it’s connection to mercury as well. With it being so analytical this energy can cause us to go deep into our minds and reflect. The Virgo full Moon highlights the invitation to notice in what areas of our lives we need more discernment, better boundaries, and a stronger connection with the Earth. Virgo likes to cut through the noise and get to the good stuff; constantly sorting out thoughts, feelings, and everything around them. A Virgo’s mind is never silent. Virgo energy allows you to figure out what’s useful or useless, what’s true or not true, what’s right or wrong.

The Virgo full Moon offers us chances to see where better standards may be needed, where we may be ungrounded or excessively idealistic, and what needs to be differently structured or organized for the sake of better functionality or health. This lunation also invites us to refine our capacity to discern between the whispers of our intuition and the voice of our fears and insecurities. Take the time to really focus on differentiating between those voices. Figure out what voices are the ones based in reality and which ones are based in anxiety and a constant need for control. Taking the time to do while the moon is full in this energy will allow you to see clearer paths full of detail and structure. Giving you the steps you need to take and the action plan to make all of your goals, dreams, and manifestations bloom this spring. But, don’t allow the analytical energy of Virgo to turn into ruminating thoughts which it can very easily do. Trust me I know! Nothing is worse then a Virgo shame spiral or what if question game. Let go of the need for control and needing to know how everything will go. This full Moon in Virgo is a time to let go of self-doubt, perfectionism, and self-criticism as you step into your potential.

Virgo the sign of heightened productivity

The Virgo Full Moon is often a time of heightened productivity. Virgo is the sign of work, and Full Moons rule endings, so we’re working hard to get things done. The urge to finish your to do lists is going to be overwhelming and you may become very hyper focused on them. We can tackle projects, tasks, and chores at home or at a job, and we want to feel we’re getting all of the little things out of the way. This is going to be overwhelming and you may become very hyper focused on them. You will take great joy in checking each task off the list as you finish it. ( I always do but, during a Virgo full moon its almost orgasmic) We can take on and tackle all the tiny little projects, tasks, and chores at home or at a job, we have been putting off but, now must take care of and get done. This full moon is your chance to get organized, finish your goals, and take action towards your dreams, without being overly critical of yourself. It is the full moon to finish all those things you have been putting off that are critical to your goals being met and your dreams coming true. No matter how tedious of a task it is or how mundane it may seem. Virgo thrives on these detail oriented type of things, use it to check them off those t do list now!

Virgo is very detailed orientated, and thrives in order and cleanliness. So, when we are in this energy we can be focused and pay close attention to detail. By detail, I mean every tiny little detail. Things you have never seen before you will notice. Things that didn’t use to bother you before will become highlighted. Things you didn’t think mattered will become vital and important to the purity of your home and order of your life. You may become aware of things in your life, your home, and relationships you never may have noticed before. When we find things that are out of place we want to p urge them, cleanse them, clean them, or throw them away. Under this sign we become hyper focused on doing whatever we must to maintain order to create balance in life. Because, of this we can get hyper focused on tidying things up in our physical space by doing a Spring cleaning, reorganizing our home, or purging and donating things. We may even purge our thoughts on systems, beliefs about the universe, and our relationship s with others. If they threaten the order of the life we have created or are attempting to create.

During this full moon with the extra attention to detail we can take a look at all areas of our life to see where it can use some more structure and order to lead to more efficient productivity. I know for me I end up redoing my bullet journal, my family binder, my schedule, my sons schedule, the list could go on. I end up endlessly planning and rearranging things but, in a very reflective way with purpose and drive for long term goals. Virgo reminds us that our time is finite and that we must treat it as a precious resource by releasing the things that threaten our order.

Virgo always being of service to others

Virgo is the sign of service to others and is overflowing with nurturing energy that simply wants to help anyone and everyone they see that needs it. Virgo is literally the healing energy of the cosmos and the energy that will help you with anything you need help with. Virgo takes deep happiness from helping others. You see this with many of your nurses, doctors, lawyers and social workers being from this sign. Virgo’s essence of being of service encourages you to align your actions with your heart’s desire, making this a powerful moment for intentional living for the greater good of the collective.

Since, Virgo loves to lend a helping hand, don’t be surprised if you are the first person to volunteer when a friend asks for a favor right now. But, don’t be mistaken; you won’t feel obligated in the least bit. Because Virgo loves to pitch in, you’ll not only want to come to someone’s aid, but you’ll also get extreme satisfaction from it.

This full moon makes it a great time to take a look around your community and see where you can serve those around you. What needs in community are not being met? How can you help those needs be met? How can you serve and nurture those around you? Where in your community can you volunteer your time to serve others? It’s a perfect lunation to start volunteering somewhere, plan a fundraiser, or host a community awareness event; especially focused on mental health with Virgo being the sign of the mind.

Use Virgo to release perfectionism

A full Moon in Virgo highlights the need to resolve imbalances, connect with a deeper sense of harmony, and gain a better understanding of how, where, and when we tend to get polarized or tempted to adopt a “one size fits all” approach. This energy helps us create a balance between the emotional and the practical. Virgo reminds us of the dangers of idealization, it reminds us that perfection is a trap, and also that remaining stuck in fantasy doesn’t allow us to appreciate and be present with what is already available to us. The Virgo Full Moon is a powerful time to release our attachment to ideas of how something should be, or how it will unfold, or what it will look like. Instead making sure we keep our feet on the ground, practicing self-compassion, and learning to love both ourselves and others in our humanness.

What to be cautious of during a Virgo full moon

So, let’s talk about the reasons why this sign tends to be so hated and what to look our for yourself with the Virgo energy. Since Virgo is so attached to your analytical side and so detail orientated it can come off as and be very critical at times of others. So, try and slow down and be clear with your communication with others during this time. Let them know you are coming from a place of caring, and simply wanting to help. But, when you do this make sure to let go of the need to be right. Simply make sure you listen to how you came off and state your intention. Don’t listen to that little voice telling you that you need to be right and know every detail of why and how you made that person feel the way you did. Simply accept what you are being told and let it sit with you as their experience which isn’t something you can control.

With it being critical one thing this energy may do is cause your reflection and analysis to get very critical and harsh with yourself and cause some perfectionism to take over. That little voice in your head can turn into quite an obsessive, controlling, and nagging bitch if you let her while the moon is in this energy. So, remember to harness and focus in on the part of the Virgo energy that is nurturing and helping to others and extend it to yourself too. Give yourself all the love and service you feel others deserve from you. And remember Virgo is the sign of health so physical self care can really build self compassion and help keep your critical thoughts at a productive level and not a harmful one.

Remember how Virgo brings heightened productivity and a push to get stuff done? That can sometimes go into overdrive with the Virgo energy. It can become so strong you simply want to go, go, and go. You may feel the need to get so much done you push yourself to burn out. Or you feel like you simply have no worth if you aren’t getting things done, especially in service to others. During this time remember that the only way you can continue to be productive is by taking those breaks now and than when you need them. So take them! Set yourself some reminders in your phone even if you have to. Nothing, feels worse than doing a massive amount of work to watch it all backslide because you burn yourself put and can’t follow through. Plus remember you have worth no matter what it is you are doing or not doing! Your worth isn’ t based on your productivity level.

Virgo full moon and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First let’s talk about the duality of the full moon. The full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality.

Second, let’s talk about the sign Virgo. I’ll say it again, I may be a bit biased on this sign But, Virgo in my opinion is an energy that we miss the duality of often. Virgo is known for being very analytical, methodical, and detail oriented which creates an energy focused on change, goals, growth, problem solving, tiny details, and at times perfection. But, this sign is also one of the most compassionate, caring, and nurturing signs of the zodiac as well. Which also creates an energy that is very deep, loving, emotional, sensitive, and at times self sacrificing. The mix between these two energies weaves an energy and magic that pushes you to look at every tiny detail for perfection and ways to change things and those around you and for yourself. With the deep nurturing desire to push them and/or yourself to grow, heal, and be the best versions we are all capable of being for the greater good of the collective.

Reflection topics and questions for the worm full moon in Virgo

Virgo has a way of drawing hidden themes to the surface, while exposing true feelings and motivations while we analyze and reorganize every part of our being inside and out. A full moon can leave us feeling raw and extremely emotional often even leading to a full moon hangover. At the same time, the Full Moon can lead to new ideas and help energize you towards finding a clearer path. The Virgo full moon will make you feel the nurturing pull of Virgo to be introspective, and really go deep into yourself. While you do this, consider what provides a sense of stability and what brings stress or chaos. This can help you make better decisions about where to put your energy. If you want to follow that grounding, introspective pull to self awareness with Virgo right now listen to it. . Whether you do it thru meditation, shadow work, or divination like tarot; below is a list of prompts and topics to connect with the energy of the worm full moon in Virgo . Ritual to Declutter and Reorganize your life with the Virgo full moon

I use this ritual all the time to help me declutter my to do list, refocus my priorities and to help me realize my expectations may be a little unrealistic and cause burn out and lower self esteem by setting myself up to fail. This ritual I created with a combination of therapy skills I learned to help manage my OCD which if you think about it, is very much the essence of Virgo energy as well.

All you will need is something to write with, a white candle and some post it notes.

How to perform

Get into sacred space. Light your candle and use the flame to focus your breath and your attention. As you are breathing in and out you want to focus on calming energy filling your space in a bright yellow color. Once you feel surrounded in that calming yellow energy you are going to let your mind focus on the things you have been avoiding or procrastinating getting done. Once you have things coming to your mind you will than take your pen and on one post it note at a time you will write a task out. Do this until no more tasks come to your mind. Once you feel all tasks have been emptied from your mind. Take a few minutes in sacred space to reflect on what you have written on your post its and decided if the amount may be too overwhelming to work with. If the answer is yes stay in sacred space and reflect until you know which tasks to eliminate now. Once you feel grounded in your number of tasks you can blow out the flame of your candle and release your calming yellow energy.

Now, take your post it’s and place them on your fridge or somewhere front and center in your home to remind you to complete them. And every time you complete one take the post it and burn it in gratitude and leave the ashes on your altar or release them to the Earth.

About Me : I have been a solitary grey magic practitioner for 15 + years. First and foremost, I consider myself a mystic and seeker of all knowledge. I am dedicated to the restoration, and re-enchantment of Magic in society, across this realm, and in each and every soul I come across in life! I am here to create a container that promotes healing, duality, and raw authenticity. I do this by guiding you on your personal journey to understanding your unique magic and sacred contracts. I facilitate this for you through embracing your shadow, duality and learning to live in energetic balance while not wearing a mask. When you work and learn from me you do so from your “darkness” as much as your “light” and in a way to truly harness and accept it not to just go thru it on the way to your light. But, I teach you how to truly embrace it, work with it, and use it alongside your light as a partner. I hold up a mirror for you to be able to see your authentic reflection looking back. Then have the courage to take the next step and do the uncomfortable but vital inner work to completely remove your mask. By facing all of your past wounds, traumas, and hurts. Allowing you to see both the dark and light within your story and take each chapter and alchemize it into something that is so powerful. your unique internal flame will shine so bright you will always be able to go within and find it on a dark cold night. You will learn how to truly live in duality and energetic balance to allow growth, and alignment with your sacred contracts and purposes. to finally move on and truly let the things that hold you back in this life from healing and manifesting go.
