Frozen Wildfire: Igniting Your Authentic Truth Amidst the 2026 Leo Snow Full Moon

The February full moon of 2026 roars into the skies with a fiery burst of passion to ignite our hearts’ desires amidst the frozen winter landscape. We find this full moon under the sign of Leo on February 1st. Despite the nickname for February being the Snow Moon, this lunation is sure to bring the heat as it radiates Leo energy and shines a bright flame on our true “heart’s desires.”

This Full Snow Moon in February 2026 strips everything down to bare bones. It forces us to see reality with harsh, cold clarity while simultaneously gifting us a burst of fiery hope for the coming spring. When the moon is in Leo, you are invited to celebrate your wins and let go of the “hiding” that keeps your light dimmed. Leo is about creative self-expression, leadership, and the courage to be seen. Come join me on a frozen winter walk under the fiery full moon light as the Lion roars into the 2026 skies.

The Snow Moon: Resilience in the Stillness

During February, we experience the deepest freeze of winter. Living in Minnesota, I’ve learned you never judge a winter until you’ve survived February. Historically, this was the “Hungry Month”—resources were low, and the snow determined your survival. This is why it is called the Snow Moon.

The Snow Moon is relentless. It asks: How bad do you want it? It forces you to look into the unyielding white of the ice with harsh clarity. But this year, Leo adds a layer of internal warmth. Use this time of stillness to your advantage. Strengthen your spirit for the “thaw” ahead. The best plans take shape in these quiet, clear, and still moments.

Ancient Names for this Moon:

  • Hungry Month (Kagali) – Cherokee
  • Storm Moon or Ice Moon – Celtic
  • Moon of Purification and Renewal – Hopi
  • Bald Eagle Moon – Cree
  • Bear Moon – Ojibwe

Who is Leo? The Radiant Sovereign

So who is Leo? As the fifth sign of the zodiac ruled by the sun, Leo is the Zodiac sign shining a spotlight on your life with bold roaring, radiant, and confident energy. Leo is all about stepping into the spotlight and owning your own power. Claiming what is yours with courage, bravery, and conviction. Being ruled by the fifth house Leo connects you to what makes you feel good, such as attention, orgasms, or the fulfillment of a creative project. It’s the sign that shines a bright light on your inner talents, your leadership abilities, and the courage you have to playfully create.

The Leo Constellation

The Leo constellation sits between Cancer the crab to the west and Virgo the maiden to the east. It is located south of the Big Dipper. It is one of the brightest constellations located in the Northern celestial hemisphere. This may be due to the fact that one of the brightest stars in the night sky sits in the heart of this constellation; Regulus. What’s unique about the Leo constellation is it contains many bright stars, many of which were individually identified by the ancients. It’s also one of the few constellations that is visible from pretty much anywhere on Earth, except for Antarctica.

Leo is one of the oldest known and recognized constellations in the sky with many different myths surrounding it. Archaeological evidence suggests that Mesopotamians had a constellation similar to Leo as early as 4000 BC. The Persians knew the constellation as Shir or Ser, Babylonians called it UR.GU.LA (“the great lion”), Syrians knew it as Aryo, and the Turks as Artan. In Sumeria, Leo may have represented the monster Humbaba, who was killed by Gilgamesh. The ancient Egyptians associated Leo with the flooding of the Nile, which occurred during the hottest time of year, when the sun entered Leo. Maybe that’s why the sphinx overlooks the Nile and is half lion?

The most commonly known myth about it’s placement among the stars would have to come from the Greeks. The Greeks associated Leo with the Nemean lion, the beast defeated by Heracles during the first of his twelve labors. Man Hercules is responsible for quite a few constellations being placed in the sky. Anyway, the Nemean lion lived in a cave in Nemea, a town located to the south-west of Corinth. It was terrorizing the local people who could not defeat it because, of it’s impenetrable skin. Heracles could not defeat the lion with arrows, so he trapped it in its cave, grappled with the beast and eventually defeated it by strangling it with his bare hands. He used the lion’s claws to cut off its pelt, and then wore the pelt as a cloak, complete with the lion’s head. From that day forward Hercules wore the pelt as his armor. The cloak both protected Heracles and made him appear even more fearsome. Leo was placed in the sky by Zeus as a reminder of Hercules’ heroism and bravery.

There is another Greek myth about this constellation though, which may be the inspiration for Romeo and Juliet. The poet Ovid’s tale of Pyramus and Thisbe. Both sets of parents of this young couple considered them too young to marry and stopped them seeing each other. However, the pair made arrangements to meet secretly by a mulberry tree with white berries. When Thisbe arrived at the appointed place, a lion sprang out from some bushes and she ran away in fright. Unfortunately, her veil fluttered to the ground as she ran and the lion, bloody from its latest kill, pounced on it. A short time later Pyramus arrived, saw his beloved’s bloody veil and believed that she had been killed. Totally distraught, and unable to face life without her, he threw himself on his sword. As he lay dying, Thisbe returned, took his sword and killed herself. The blood of the tragic pair colored the berries of the mulberry tree red, and so they remain to this day. Some suggest that Zeus placed Thisbe’s veil in the heavens as Coma Berenices.

2026 Cosmic Energies: Uranus, Chiron, and the Fire Horse

Uranus & the Winds of Awakening

Uranus is active during this Full Moon, bringing surprises and “eureka” moments. As the planet of awakening, it might shake the ground beneath you. Ask yourself: How am I being called to break free from old, rigid versions of myself?

Chiron the Wounded Healer

Chiron reminds us that our wounds don’t disqualify us from leadership; they make us compassionate leaders. If old pains surface under this bright moon, know that Leo’s fire is here to cauterize and heal, not just to burn.

The Transition: From Snake to Fire Horse

We are currently in the final stretch of the Year of the Snake, preparing to gallop into the Year of the Fire Horse later this month. This Full Moon acts as the bridge. The wisdom and shedding of the Snake are meeting the wild, fiery independence of the Horse. It is a potent time for transition!

From Duality to Sovereignty: The Free Witch

In the past, I identified as a Grey Witch, focusing heavily on the duality of light and dark. But as I have evolved into a Free Witch, my perspective has shifted toward sovereignty and liberation.

Being a Free Witch means I am no longer bound by the “shoulds” of tradition or the rigid binary of “this or that.” I work with the energy that is present, authentically and without apology.

  • Leo & the Free Witch: Leo is the ultimate archetype of sovereignty. As a Free Witch, I use this Leo Full Moon to celebrate my own unique magic—magic that doesn’t need to be labeled or validated by anyone else.
  • Authenticity over Performance: While Leo loves a spotlight, the Free Witch uses that light to see their own truth clearly, rather than performing for an audience. This moon is about the freedom to roar your truth, even if it changes tomorrow.

What to be cautious of this Leo full moon

During the Full Moon in Leo, it’s important to avoid impulsivity, getting swept up in drama, or seeking excessive validation from others. Leo energy can be intense, and it can burn bright and hot as hell at times, just like the sun whole rules this sign. It is vital to take the time to balance it and not let it burn too hot, by staying grounded and focused on your authentic self. Be mindful of not letting your pride get the better of you and being overly focused on your own achievements or image. Tapping into Leo’s fire to ignite our self confidence is something our soul needs but, don’t let your fire get so hot and bright that you burn others around you. Avoid the temptation to act out of ego or let others’ opinions steer your path. Be open to constructive criticism and don’t dismiss feedback as personal attacks. Control the fire of Leo burning around you and keep it’s focus on self-love, playfulness, and creative empowerment.

  3. What “heart’s desire” has been frozen all winter, and how can I start to unthaw it today?
  4. How can I lead my own life with more conviction and less ego?

Final Thoughts

As the silvery light of this Leo Snow Moon spills across the frozen landscape, remember that it offers more than just a moment of reflection—it offers a divine opportunity for Sovereignty. This isn’t just about self-love; it’s about Authentic Liberation. In the past, we may have looked for the balance between the light and the dark, but as a Free Witch, you are now invited to realize that you are the fire that creates the light in the first place.

The Leo Full Moon acts as a celestial spotlight, illuminating anything that dims your unique vibration. It helps you identify the thoughts, words, and outdated traditions that have been acting as heavy weights on your spirit. If you feel like your light has been muffled by the “shoulds” of the world, this is the lunation where you burn those contracts. Use this fiery energy to align not just with your potential, but with your current power.

But don’t ignore the bite of the Snow Moon. The fire of Leo doesn’t exist in a vacuum; it is burning in the heart of winter. This moon brings a gift of harsh, cold clarity. It allows you to see the reality of your life without the fog of wishful thinking. While Leo wants to play and create, the Snow Moon asks: “What is sturdy enough to survive the freeze?” Take this time to look at your relationships, your goals, and your magical practice with a clear eye.

  • Where have you been performing instead of living?
  • Where has your fire been used to keep others warm while you shivered in the cold?
  • What parts of your “Free Witch” path are calling for you to take up more space?

As we stand on the bridge between the shedding wisdom of the Snake and the wild, unbridled spirit of the Fire Horse, let this moon be your initiation. Let the cold clarify your vision and the fire fuel your voice. The Snow Moon in Leo doesn’t just help you survive the winter; it empowers you to command it.

Clear away the old. Burn away the false. Roar your truth into the stillness of the night. You are free, you are sovereign, and your light is unquenchable.

2026 Zodiac Forecast: The Great Stampede of the Fire Horse

The thundering hooves of the Fire Horse are no longer a distant echo—they are here, shaking the very foundations of our lives. If 2025 was the year of the silent, strategic crawl, 2026 is the year we break the sound barrier. As a free Witch, I know that when the element of Fire meets the spirit of the Horse, we aren’t just looking at “luck”—we are looking at a wildfire of raw, sovereign power.

Below is an extensive, deep-dive forecast for every sign. We are looking at how this double-dose of Fire energy will manifest in your career, your magic, and your shadow side. Find your birth year and prepare to ride.

The Rat (1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020)

The Vibe: The Challenge of Visibility. The Rat and the Horse sit directly opposite each other on the Great Race wheel. In astrology, this is a direct confrontation. You prefer the shadows, the “inner sanctum,” and the quiet hoard. The Fire Horse, however, is a celestial spotlight.

  • The Gallop: This year forces you out of your comfort zone in a way that can lead to massive public recognition. If you’ve been working on a “secret” project, the universe is going to rip the veil off. Use this visibility to your advantage. It’s time to stop being the power behind the throne and actually sit on it.
  • The Kick: Because this is a “clash” year, you may feel restless or agitated. The Horse’s speed feels like chaos to your organized mind. Watch out for legal disputes or public misunderstandings. Do not try to out-manipulate the Horse; it will only result in burned bridges.
  • Witchy Work: Your magic this year should focus on Invisibility and Shielding. When the light gets too bright, use Black Tourmaline or Smoky Quartz to create a “cloak” so you can work in peace.

The Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021)

The Vibe: Breaking the Plow. You are the sign of the slow, steady harvest. But the Fire Horse doesn’t care about your 10-year plan. It wants results now. 2026 will feel like someone hitched your plow to a Ferrari.

  • The Gallop: This is the year to automate and accelerate. If you’ve been doing things the “hard way” out of tradition, the Horse will show you a shortcut. Financial gains can come rapidly if you are willing to pivot. Your stamina combined with the Horse’s speed makes you a powerhouse in the workplace.
  • The Kick: Your biggest shadow this year is stubbornness. If you dig your heels in against the Fire Horse, you’re going to get dragged. This energy can manifest as physical burnout or neck/shoulder tension. Learn to let go of the “weight” you think you have to carry.
  • Witchy Work: Work with Tiger’s Eye and Hematite. You need to stay grounded so you don’t lose your footing, but you also need the “eye” to see the opportunities flying past you.

The Tiger (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022)

The Vibe: The Apex Alliance. The Tiger and Horse are part of the same “Triple Harmony” triad. You speak the same language of passion, courage, and intensity. This is your playground.

  • The Gallop: 2026 is one of your most auspicious years in a decade. Promotion, fame, and creative breakthroughs are yours for the taking. The “Fire” element feeds your natural drive, making you feel more “yourself” than you have in years. It’s a spectacular time for travel and expanding your territory.
  • The Kick: The danger for you is “over-heating.” With so much Fire energy, your temper might become a lethal weapon. You might find yourself picking fights just to feel the rush of the win. Don’t burn down a forest just because you wanted to see a spark.
  • Witchy Work: Carnelian is your power stone this year. Use it in “Command and Compel” spells to ensure that when you roar, the right people listen.

The Rabbit (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023)

The Vibe: Protecting the Sanctuary. After the intensity of the Dragon and the Snake, you were probably hoping for a nap. The Fire Horse, however, is throwing a party right outside your burrow.

  • The Gallop: This year brings a boost to your social life. You may find yourself invited to high-profile events or finding a “herd” of like-minded souls. If you work in a creative field, the Horse gives your delicate ideas the “legs” they need to reach a wider audience.
  • The Kick: The “Double Fire” can be emotionally dehydrating for the sensitive Rabbit. You might feel overwhelmed by the “hustle culture” of 2026. There is a risk of making impulsive financial decisions to keep up with others. Stay in your own lane.
  • Witchy Work: Focus on Hearth and Home protection. Use Rose Quartz and Blue Lace Agate to keep your internal temperature cool. Enchant your front door to keep the “noise” of the world outside.

The Dragon (1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024)

The Vibe: Scaling the Heights. Dragons and Horses share a mutual respect for power. While the Snake year was about your internal transformation, 2026 is about your external kingdom.

  • The Gallop: You are a creature of the sun, and the Fire Horse is essentially a solar event. This year is excellent for making money and gaining authority. If you have been waiting to launch a business or a “public persona,” the winds are in your favor. Your charisma is at an all-time high.
  • The Kick: The shadow side is arrogance. The Horse is a “Yang” animal, and so are you. This can lead to “clashing heads” with authority figures. Remember that even a Dragon needs allies. Don’t alienate the people who helped you get to the top.
  • Witchy Work: Citrine and Pyrite are your best friends. Perform Abundance Rituals on Sundays to maximize the solar/fire alignment of the year.

The Snake (1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025)

The Vibe: Emerging from the Den. You just spent 2025 in the center of the storm. You’ve shed your old skin, and now you’re stepping into the bright, hot sun of the Horse. It’s a bit of a shock to the system.

  • The Gallop: You have the wisdom that the Horse lacks. While everyone else is running in circles, you know exactly where the finish line is. This is a year where you can act as the “Mastermind.” People will seek your counsel because you can see through the smoke that the Fire Horse creates.
  • The Kick: You might feel physically drained. The high-vibration energy of the Horse is the opposite of your cool, calculated nature. Watch out for “burnout” by February. You need to pace yourself; don’t try to sprint if you’re still hardening your new skin.
  • Witchy Work: Use Labradorite to help you bridge the gap between your world and the Horse’s world. Perform Glamour Magic to control how people see your new “skin” this year.

The Horse (1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026)

The Vibe: The Year of the Mirror. This is your Ben Ming Nian. Contrary to popular belief, your own year is often a challenge because the energy is “too much” of a good thing. It’s like standing in a room full of mirrors—every move you make is amplified.

  • The Gallop: You are the main character. You have an incredible amount of energy and “luck” on your side, but it is raw and untamed. You will feel a massive urge to change everything—your job, your hair, your home. Some of these changes will be the best things you’ve ever done.
  • The Kick: Impulsivity is your enemy. In your own year, the “Tai Sui” (Year God) is watching you closely. Offending him happens when you become too boastful or reckless. Wear red every single day (even just red socks!) to deflect negative attention.
  • Witchy Work: Red Jasper is your anchor. You need grounding magic more than anyone else. Perform Ancestral Veneration rituals to keep your “roots” strong while your head is in the clouds.

The Goat (1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027)

The Vibe: The Creative Spark. The Goat and the Horse are “Secret Friends.” This is a year of deep support and harmony for you. While the Horse runs the race, you are the one designing the trophy.

  • The Gallop: This is one of the best years for your love life and artistic pursuits. The Fire element ignites your imagination. If you’ve been feeling “stale,” 2026 will bring a flood of new ideas and passionate connections. It’s a year of “favors”—ask and you shall receive.
  • The Kick: Because things come easily this year, you might get lazy. The Horse’s speed can also make you feel anxious if you aren’t “producing” enough. Don’t let the pressure to be productive ruin your creative flow.
  • Witchy Work: Amethyst and Moonstone. You are the “Yin” to the Horse’s “Yang.” Use your magic to turn the Horse’s heat into spiritual enlightenment and beautiful art.

The Monkey (1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028)

The Vibe: The Master of Ceremonies. You love chaos, and the Fire Horse is a beautiful kind of chaos. You are quick enough to keep up and clever enough to profit from it.

  • The Gallop: This is a year of “Double Success.” You have the intellectual agility to solve the problems that the Horse’s speed creates. Expect career jumps and sudden windfalls. You’ll likely find yourself traveling for “business and pleasure” combined.
  • The Kick: Your shadow side is being too “tricky.” The Fire Horse is an honest, blunt animal. If you try to play too many sides or get too caught up in gossip, it will backfire (the “Fire” part of the year is literal here).
  • Witchy Work: Use Clear Quartz to keep your mind from fracturing into too many directions. Perform Success Spells involving movement, like “Shoe Magic” or “Wheel” symbols.

The Rooster (1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029)

The Vibe: Polishing the Crown. You and the Horse both love to be admired. In 2026, the world is looking at you, so make sure you’re wearing your best “feathers.”

  • The Gallop: This is a “Visibility” year. If you’ve wanted to grow your social media, speak on stages, or get a promotion, 2026 provides the stage. Your hard work from the Snake year finally pays off in a very public way.
  • The Kick: The Fire element can make you hyper-critical. You might find yourself “pecking” at others or yourself. Also, watch your health—specifically your heart and blood pressure. The “heat” of the year can cause inflammation.
  • Witchy Work: Sunstone and Amber. Work with Solar Magic. Set your intentions at sunrise to harness the “waking up” energy of the Horse.

The Dog (1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030)

The Vibe: The Loyal Commander. You, the Tiger, and the Horse are the “Three Harmony” group. You are the Horse’s most loyal ally, and this year feels like a homecoming for your spirit.

  • The Gallop: This is a year of protection and justice. You will find yourself in leadership positions where you can help others. Your intuition is razor-sharp. It’s an excellent year for home life, real estate, and strengthening long-term bonds.
  • The Kick: You might become too “vigilant.” The Fire Horse energy can make you paranoid about threats that aren’t there. Don’t let your “bark” turn into a “bite” toward the people you love.
  • Witchy Work: Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite. Focus on Truth Magic and Justice Spells. Your voice carries more weight this year—use it wisely.

The Pig (1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031)

The Vibe: The Golden Feast. You know how to enjoy life, and the Year of the Horse is one long festival. You are the “beneficiary” of this year’s speed.

  • The Gallop: Wealth and comfort are highlighted. While everyone else is racing, you are the one hosting the after-party. Unexpected gifts, inheritance, or bonuses are likely. It’s a year of “easy flow”—don’t overthink it, just enjoy it.
  • The Kick: The danger is overindulgence. “Double Fire” can lead to “fiery” health issues (heartburn, fever, rashes). Also, the Horse’s restlessness might make you feel a bit insecure about your own pace. It’s okay to trot while others gallop.
  • Witchy Work: Jade is your primary stone for 2026. Use it to keep your luck grounded in reality. Perform Gratitude Rituals to keep the abundance flowing.

Final Thoughts for the 2026 Herd

The Final Word: Reclaiming Your Sovereignty

The Fire Horse is a ride, not a destination. Whether you are leading the pack or following from the back, remember that this energy is meant to set you free. In our practice as witches, we often spend so much time “preparing” for the shift that we forget to actually live within it. The Fire Horse doesn’t care about your five-year plan or your perfectly curated aesthetic; it cares about the raw, beating heart of your desire. It is a primal, thundering force that reminds us we were never meant to be tethered to expectations, stagnant jobs, or the heavy “shoulds” of other people.

If 2025 was the year we learned to hide and survive, 2026 is the year we learn to run and thrive. This isn’t just about moving fast—it’s about moving toward alignment. The “Fire” in this year is the Great Purifier; it will burn away the dead wood in your life so that only the strongest, most authentic parts of you remain. If a door slams shut this year, don’t try to pick the lock. Let it burn. The Horse has already found a new path through the open field.

Freedom is often terrifying because it requires us to take the reins of our own destiny. It demands that we stop asking for permission to be powerful. This year, if you feel the heat rising, don’t shy away. Use it. Celebrate the 2026 Chinese New Year with the Fire Horse

The 2026 Chinese New Year, celebrated alongside the Lunar New Year, falls on February 17th. Marking the end of winter and the official gallop into the spring season, Chinese New Year celebrates looking to the future for new beginnings with themes of happiness, health, family, and good fortune. This year marks the arrival of the Fire Horse, a legendary and intense combination that appears only once every 60 years.

While last year was about the slow, strategic slither of the Snake, the Year of the Horse is about freedom, raw power, and the heat of passion. It signifies a time of rapid movement, social expansion, and the courage to live out loud. It embodies a vibrant, untamed, and sometimes volatile energy capable of charging through obstacles and lighting a fire under our biggest dreams. Come with me and race through this blog post to learn how to welcome the Lunar New Year and harness the thundering energy that it holds.

First, what is the Chinese New Year?

Of all the traditional Chinese festivals, the New Year is the most elaborate and important. This is a time to congratulate ourselves on having passed through another year, a time to finish out the old, and to welcome in the new. It is also known as the Spring Festival due to its timing with the changing of the seasons, and the Lunar New Year because it starts on the new moon.

When is the Chinese New Year celebrated?

The Chinese New Year is celebrated on the first day of the First Moon of the lunar calendar. In 2026, it falls on February 17th. Traditionally, the holiday lasts sixteen days, culminating in the Lantern Festival on March 4th. This is a time for family reunions, visiting relatives, and stressing the importance of family ties. The celebrations include beautiful outfits, delicious food, and colorful decorations intended to encourage hope and prosperity.

History & The Myth of Nian

The history of Chinese New Year dates back over 3,500 years. The most popular myth involves Nian, a beast that would appear every year to eat villagers. One year, an old man used red paper lanterns, red clothing, and loud fireworks to scare the beast away. To this day, the color red and the setting of firecrackers are essential for protecting the home and welcoming good luck.

Common Traditions for the New Year

  • Sweeping of the Grounds: Deep clean your home before New Year’s Day to sweep away the “dust” of the old year. Put your brooms away on the actual day so you don’t accidentally sweep away your new luck!
  • Lai-See (Red Envelopes): Children and elders exchange red envelopes containing “lucky money.” Remember: only clean, unwrinkled bills should be used, and avoid the number four (which sounds like the word for death). Numbers with eight are highly auspicious!
  • Lion & Dragon Dances: These acrobatic performances ward off evil spirits and bring prosperity to the community. The Dragon, specifically, chases a “Pearl of Wisdom,” representing a quest for truth and knowledge.

Lucky Chinese New Year Foods

  • Fish: The word for fish sounds like “surplus,” inviting abundance.
  • Dumplings: Shaped like ancient currency (ingots) to attract wealth.
  • Longevity Noodles: Do not cut them! Long, unbroken noodles represent a long, healthy life.
  • Tangerines & Oranges: Their golden color and name (sounding like “luck”) correlate to wealth.
  • Nian Gao (Year Cake): Symbolizes progress and “rising” higher in the coming year.

The Year of the Fire Horse

The Horse, being the seventh animal in the zodiac, takes center stage in 2026. Horses are everything you need to be this year: independent, energetic, and completely unbridled. They don’t hide in the grass; they run across the open plains. The Horse is a symbol of triumph, nobility, and the “main character” energy we all need to manifest our goals.

How the Element Fire Affects the Horse In Chinese astrology, each animal is paired with an element. 2026 is a Fire year. Because the Horse is naturally a “fire” sign, this year is a Double Fire year! This creates a massive “Yang” energy that is bright, aggressive, and fast-moving. The last Fire Horse year was 1966—a year of social revolution and upheaval. Expect 2026 to be a year where the status quo is challenged and personal freedom becomes the priority.

The Grey Witch and Duality Since I am a grey witch, I look for the duality. The Fire Horse provides the warmth of a hearth but also the danger of a wildfire.

  • The Light: Rapid manifestation, sudden success, and the courage to leave a “cage” (like a bad job or relationship).
  • The Shadow: Impulsivity and a short fuse. The Horse has a powerful kick, and Fire has a lethal burn. Use your power wisely. This is a year where the veil is glowing; protection magic is needed to ensure your passion doesn’t turn into burnout.

Correspondences for 2026

  • Planet: Mars and the Sun
  • Element: Yang Fire
  • Symbol: Red lanterns, horseshoes, sunflowers, gold ingots, torches
  • Colors: Crimson, Gold, Bright Orange, White
  • Herbs/Flowers: Cinnamon, Ginger, Chili Pepper, Bay Leaves (for victory), Sunflowers, Peppermint
  • Stones/Crystals: Carnelian, Sunstone, Fire Agate, Red Jasper, Ruby, Citrine
  • Food/Drinks: Spicy foods, oranges, fish, dumplings, “Spirit” based drinks or fiery teas

How to Celebrate with the Fire Horse

  • Set Intentions with Speed: Write your goals on bay leaves and burn them—Fire Horse energy manifests fast.
  • Road Opening Magic: Use the Horse’s power to “stampede” through any blockages in your path.
  • Movement Rituals: Dancing, running, or even driving to new places can help move stagnant energy.
  • Update Your Altar: Use red and gold candles, horse imagery, and sunstones.
  • Practice Gratitude: Give thanks for the stamina you’ve gained over the last year.

The Unbridled Path: A Fire Horse Road Opening Ritual

In the Year of the Fire Horse, we don’t just open doors—we break them down. If you feel stuck, stagnant, or like you’ve been running in place, use this ritual to harness the “Double Fire” energy of 2026 to clear your path.

Best Time to Perform: The morning of the Lunar New Year (February 17th) or during the first New Moon in the Year of the Horse.

What You’ll Need:

  • A Red Candle (for the Fire element and good fortune)
  • A piece of paper and a black pen
  • Cinnamon or Ginger powder (to “heat up” the manifestation)
  • A small bowl of water
  • A key (one you no longer use, or a charm)

The Ritual:

  1. Clear the Way: Start by physically cleaning your front doorway. Sweep the threshold outward to remove any lingering “Snake” energy from the previous year.
  2. Draft the Map: On your paper, write down the one major thing standing in your way. Be specific. Underneath it, draw a simple symbol of a horse or a horseshoe facing upward.
  3. Ignite the Flame: Light your red candle. Hold your hands over the flame (at a safe distance) and feel the heat. Visualize the Fire Horse thundering toward your obstacle, hooves striking the ground, turning that barrier into dust.
  4. The Cinnabar Kick: Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or ginger onto the paper and say:“Fast as flame and strong as steel, turn the spoke and turn the wheel. No more waiting, no more stalls, the Fire Horse breaks through the walls.”
  5. Charge the Key: Pass your key through the candle smoke and then dip it quickly into the water to “temper” the energy. Hold the key and imagine it glowing with orange light.
  6. The Release: Take the paper and safely burn it in the candle flame (use a fire-safe bowl). As the smoke rises, imagine your path clearing for miles ahead.
  7. The Anchor: Carry the key with you in your pocket or bag for the first 16 days of the New Year (until the Lantern Festival) to remind yourself that the way is open and you are free to run.

Final Thoughts on the Energy of 2026

2026 isn’t here to ask for your permission. The Snake taught us how to shed our skin in the dark; now, the Fire Horse demands we show the world who we are in the light. You are a powerful, sovereign entity, and sovereign beings don’t stay in the stable—they run.

This is the year to be “too much,” to be “too loud,” and to be unapologetically fast. Shed the last of that old skin and gallop into your power. If someone threatens your freedom or your way of life, do not be afraid to show your teeth and let them feel the strength of your kick. The path ahead is bright and fiery—ride it with grace and never look back.

I am Kayreign, the Divine Oracle of the Gods and Keeper of Mysteries, a solitary grey magic practitioner with over 15 years of experience walking the sacred paths of the unseen. The Capricorn New Moon: The Architect of Destiny and the Sacred Mountain

The first New Moon of the year arrives on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in the steadfast and ambitious sign of Capricorn. While the recent Wolf Moon had us looking inward at our emotional foundations, this New Moon shifts our gaze toward the horizon of our greatest ambitions. As the first lunar seeding point of 2026, this is the moment we stop dreaming about the future and start building the scaffolding to reach it.

This lunation activates the energy of the cardinal earth sign, Capricorn, bringing a grounding focus to themes of integrity, discipline, legacy, and long-term mastery. New Moons are a time of initiation and quiet planting; this one asks us to identify the “Mountain” we intend to climb this year and to commit to the steady, patient work required to reach the summit.

Let this Capricorn New Moon guide you to become the architect of your own destiny, honoring the wisdom of time and the power of a disciplined spirit as you lay the first stones of your 2026 legacy.

New Moon: The Silent Seed and the Void

Every month, the New Moon marks the beginning of a fresh lunar cycle, a time when the moon sits in darkness, invisible to the eye. This phase represents the void, the fertile soil, and the moment of pure potential. It is a sacred time for inward reflection and intention-setting, where the seeds we plant in the darkness of our spirit will eventually bloom under the light of the following full moon.

The New Moon is a call to begin again. It is the breath before the word, the stillness before the movement. Because this is the first New Moon of the calendar year, it carries the unique weight of “The Great Beginning.” It is the energetic launchpad for your entire 2026 timeline, urging you to get serious about your intentions and to ensure they are built on a foundation of truth rather than fleeting desire.

Capricorn: The Sign of the Mountain and the Mastery

Each new moon takes on the characteristics of the zodiac sign it inhabits. Capricorn, the tenth sign of the zodiac, is ruled by Saturn, the planet of time, karma, and structure. Symbolized by the Sea-Goat—a creature with the tail of a fish to navigate deep emotional waters and the hooves of a goat to scale the highest peaks—Capricorn embodies the duality of spiritual depth and material mastery.

As a cardinal earth sign, Capricorn is the initiator of tangible results. It doesn’t just want to talk about goals; it wants to see the blueprint, the budget, and the schedule. This sign governs the Tenth House of career, public reputation, and legacy, urging us to take responsibility for our lives and to act with the authority of someone who knows their worth and their purpose.

The Capricorn Constellation

In Greek mythology, Capricorn is linked to the god Pan, who is often depicted as partially goat-like. Pan is said to have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a goat. In one story, Pan dived into a river to escape the monster Typhon, but only transformed part of himself, becoming half goat and half fish. Zeus was amused by this and placed the image among the stars as the constellation Capricornus. The constellation is also sometimes associated with Amalthea, the goat that nursed Zeus after his mother saved him from his father, Cronos. Amalthea’s broken horn was transformed into the cornucopia, or “horn of plenty”.

Capricorn the mythical Seagoat

Capricorns are symbolized by the sea goat, a mythological creature with the body of a goat and tail of a fish. We often think of Capricorns as high achievers or business-oriented workhorses. This speaks to the goat aspect of their sea-goat symbol. Goats are scrappy, and some of them are capable of climbing to great heights. The fishtail portion of the sea-goat, on the other hand, holds the ocean and the vast, almost spiritual world that lies beneath it. This imagery speaks to Capricorn’s ability to navigate both the material and emotional realms. It’s the job of the Capricorn to strike a balance between these two realms of earthly achievements and spiritual truth.

The First New Moon of 2026: The Master Builder

The January New Moon is often called the “Initiator’s Moon.” Coming directly after the emotional release of the Wolf Moon, it serves as the cosmic “Monday morning” of the year. This name reminds us that true magic requires structure. While inspiration gets us started, it is the Capricornian qualities of persistence and discipline that actually bring our visions into physical reality.

The significance of this being the first New Moon of the year cannot be overstated. It acts as a Master Blueprint for the months to come. This is the moment to look at your New Year’s resolutions and strip away the ones that were made out of guilt or social pressure. Capricorn demands Integrity—only plant what you are actually willing to water, weed, and wait for. This is the moon for those ready to play the “Long Game” and build a life that lasts.

Themes of the Capricorn New Moon

This lunation brings the essential themes of discipline, authority, and legacy to the forefront, urging us to take command of our path with the maturity of a true master. Under this dark moon, we are invited to stop waiting for permission and to start acting as the primary authority in our own lives.

  • Radical Responsibility: This moon demands that we stop looking outward for excuses and start looking inward for solutions. Radical responsibility is the act of fully owning your current circumstances—even the ones that feel unfair—and realizing that you possess the sovereign power to change them through disciplined, consistent action. It is about shifting from a passive participant to the conscious creator of your reality, acknowledging that every choice you make today is a brick in the wall of your tomorrow.
  • Long-Term Strategy: Capricorn energy is the antithesis of the “quick fix.” This New Moon encourages us to lift our eyes from the immediate distractions of the day and shift our focus from “instant gratification” to “sustainable success.” It asks the piercing question: What will matter to you five years from now? By planning with a decade in mind rather than just a week, you align yourself with the slow, unstoppable power of the mountain, ensuring that the seeds you plant now have the root system necessary to weather any storm.
  • Boundaries as Power: In the realm of the Sea-Goat, a boundary is not a wall to keep people out, but a container to keep your magic in. This lunation teaches us to use the word “no” as a sacred tool of preservation, protecting our time, focus, and energy for the specific tasks that serve our ultimate summit. By setting firm limits on what (and who) gets access to your spirit, you create the quiet, concentrated environment required for true greatness to grow.
  • Integrity and Mastery: This is a call to move beyond “good enough” and strive for genuine excellence. Mastery is the result of honing your craft when no one is watching and ensuring that your external actions align perfectly with your internal values. This New Moon asks you to check the foundation of your intentions: are you building something that reflects your soul’s truth, or just something that looks good from the outside? True Capricorn mastery is found when your public reputation is a mirror of your private integrity.

What to Be Cautious Of

While Capricorn energy is incredibly productive, its shadow side can lead to coldness, perfectionism, or a “work-at-all-costs” mentality. Be wary of falling into the trap of Self-Criticism, where you judge your progress so harshly that you lose the joy in the journey. There is also a risk of Rigidity, where you become so focused on your “plan” that you stop listening to your intuition or the needs of your body. Lastly, beware of Status Obsession; ensuring your goals are born from your soul’s purpose rather than a desire to impress others or satisfy a “should.”

Shadow Work Questions

Use these prompts to journey into the darker, hidden corners of your ambition. Capricorn’s light is often sober and honest; use this moon to peel back the layers of your “public mask” and see what is truly driving your climb.

  • The Fear of the Summit: Where am I intentionally playing “small” or self-sabotaging because I am actually afraid of the weight of responsibility that comes with true success? Sometimes, we stay at the base of the mountain not because we lack the skill to climb, but because we aren’t sure we want to be the person who has to maintain the peak. Reflect on whether your “failures” are actually subconscious attempts to stay safe and hidden.
  • Decaying Structures: What “old structures,” outdated beliefs, or repetitive habits in my daily life am I still clinging to that actually block my ascent? We often try to build new lives on top of old, crumbling foundations. Identify the specific routines, relationships, or mental loops that have become too heavy to carry upward. What must be demolished so that a stronger scaffolding can be built?
  • The Wrong Mountain: Am I exhausting myself climbing a mountain that actually belongs to me, or am I trying to reach a summit that someone else—a parent, a partner, or society—chose for me? It is a tragedy to reach the top only to realize you don’t like the view. Dig deep into your motivations: Is your “ambition” fueled by your soul’s calling, or a desperate need for external validation and “status”?
  • The Chronos Connection: How can I cultivate a relationship with “Time” (ruled by Saturn/Chronos) that feels like a sacred partnership rather than a frantic race or a heavy burden? Many of us view time as an enemy to be beaten. Reflect on how you can shift into “deep time”—the understanding that things take exactly as long as they need to. Where are you rushing, and what would happen if you trusted the timing of your own evolution?
  • The Definition of Mastery: What does “Mastery” truly look like in my life, and what is the very first, smallest, most practical step I can take toward it today? Mastery is not a destination; it is a devotion to the process. Strip away the grand fantasies and look at the raw data of your life. What is one tiny, disciplined action you can commit to daily that will move the needle toward your legacy?

The Master Builder’s Prayer: An Invocation for Integrity

Beneath the first New Moon of 2026, I stand on the bedrock of my own potential.

I call upon the energy of the Architect and the wisdom of the Earth to guide my hand as I draft the blueprint for my year. I release the need for instant results and embrace the beauty of the long, steady climb. I honor the lessons of the past and the time it takes for greatness to take root.

I claim my authority. I claim my discipline. I claim my right to build a life that stands the test of time. May my boundaries be firm, my integrity be unshakable, and my spirit be as resilient as the mountain. I plant my intentions in this fertile darkness, knowing that with every patient step, I am already arriving.

And so it is.

Blueprint for Success Ritual

This ritual is designed to help you transition from the “dreaming” phase of the New Year into the “building” phase. It uses the element of Earth to solidify your intentions into the physical world.

Timing: Best performed on the night of January 18th, or within 48 hours of the New Moon. Tools Needed:

  • A piece of high-quality paper or cardstock.
  • A black pen (representing Saturn/Authority).
  • A small stone, rock, or crystal (Onyx, Obsidian, or even a pebble from your yard).
  • A single candle (Green for growth, Brown for grounding, or Black for protection).

Step 1: Clearing the Workspace

Before you begin, physically clear your desk or altar. Capricorn cannot build in chaos. Wipe down the surface with salted water or cedar smoke. Set your tools down intentionally. Light your candle and say:

“I clear the path for my highest work. I prepare the ground for my lasting legacy.”

Step 2: Drafting the Mountain (The Blueprint)

Sit in silence for a moment and visualize the “Mountain” of your 2026 goals. Don’t think about what you want; think about what you are willing to work for.

  • The Peak: On the top third of your paper, draw a large, bold triangle. At the very tip of this mountain, write your Primary Aim for the year in one clear sentence (e.g., “I am a successful, published author” or “I am financially sovereign and debt-free”).
  • The Foundation: Along the bottom edge of the triangle, write three Core Values. These are the “bedrock” that will keep you from falling when things get difficult. (Examples: Consistency, Integrity, Resilience).

Step 3: Laying the Stones (Practical Action)

Inside the belly of the mountain, draw three rectangular “Foundation Stones.” In each stone, write a practical, non-negotiable habit you will commit to during this lunar cycle.

  • Note: These shouldn’t be “results,” but “actions.” Instead of “lose weight,” write “walk for 20 minutes daily.” Instead of “make money,” write “spend one hour daily on my business plan.”

Step 4: The Stone Activation

Take your physical stone/crystal and hold it tightly in your dominant hand. Close your eyes and breathe into your Root Chakra (the base of your spine).

  • Visualize your goal at the peak of the mountain.
  • Feel the effort, the sweat, and the eventual triumph of the climb.
  • Transfer that energy—the grit and the determination—into the stone. Imagine the stone becoming incredibly heavy with the weight of your commitment.

Step 5: The Master Builder’s Invocation

While still holding the stone over your paper, recite the invocation with a firm, authoritative voice:

“I stand on the bedrock of my own potential. I am the Architect and the Builder. I release the fleeting and embrace the enduring. I honor the time it takes for greatness to take root. My boundaries are firm, my integrity is unshakable, and my spirit is as resilient as the mountain. As I lay this first stone, my ascent begins. And so it is.”

Step 6: Setting the Foundation

Place your paper on your altar or a safe shelf. Set the physical stone directly on top of the “Peak” you wrote. This “weights” your intention down into the physical realm.

Step 7: Closing and First Action

Extinguish your candle (don’t blow it out—snuff it, to keep the energy contained). To truly honor Capricorn, take one tiny, 5-minute action toward your goal immediately after finishing the ritual. Send that email, organize that one drawer, or write that first paragraph. This proves to the Universe you are ready to work.

Capricorn New moon and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. This includes the new moon and the energy of the zodiac sign it currently is in. First, the energy of Capricorn we see duality not only in it’s symbol the sea goat but, also in one of the main themes Capricorn represents; ambition. The sea goat like we talked about earlier is a mythical being that literally represents the duality of the material realm and the emotional or mythical realm. Others even believe the sea goat represents the duality of human existence through evolution, starting in the sea and than moving upwards onto land. Than there is the duality of ambition. While ambition is a very wanted thing. It is pivotal to our motivation, getting things done, and thriving in our life. But, on the other hand it also can cloud our mind, narrow our view/vision, damage our relationships, and lead to burn out by not caring for ourselves properly.

Second, the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space, energy, and time. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from an ending and death.

This new moon in Capricorn has another layer of duality with it being the last one of the year. This new moon in Capricorn ushers us across a threshold holding us in a unique pocket of liminal space. A pocket of time when we are still in one year but, just about to move to another year. From 2024 to 2025. From closing to opening. Ending to new beginning. Guiding us towards a new cycle and turning of the wheel to begin. Balancing us in both the seen and unseen, in frequency and matter, and the psychic and the physical as we do.

Final Thoughts for the Capricorn New Moon

As the first New Moon of 2026 fades into the stillness of the winter sky on January 18th, let it serve as a profound reminder that the climb itself is just as sacred as the summit. We often become so obsessed with the trophy at the top that we forget the character is forged in the ascent. This lunar cycle is a cosmic invitation to stop looking for shortcuts and instead pick up your tools with intention. It is a time to trust the quiet strength of your own bones and begin the patient, methodical work of building a life of substance—one that can withstand the winds of change because its foundations were laid in truth.

Under the velvet, dark sky of the Architect, you are being handed the silver pen to draft your own destiny. This is not a moment for fleeting wishes, but for deep, soul-level commitments. Use this “dark phase” of the moon to secure your boundaries, protect your vital energy from unnecessary distractions, and move into the remainder of the year with the steady, unyielding heart of a mountain. The void of the New Moon is not empty; it is a fertile space waiting for your command. How will you use this sacred silence to blueprint a legacy that outlasts the season and stands for years to come?

The Wolf Full Moon in Cancer: Sheltering the Soul and Honoring Instinct

The Wolf Full Moon in Cancer arrives on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 4:02 a.m. CST. This powerful lunation—the final dazzling Supermoon of the series—howls into the cold winter night, inviting us to retreat into our emotional sanctuaries, honor our deepest instincts, and nurture the foundations of our lives as the new year begins.

This full moon activates the energy of the cardinal water sign, Cancer, bringing a tender focus to themes of home, family, emotional security, and ancestral roots. Full moons are always a time of culmination and release; this one asks us to harvest the emotional growth of the past six months and release any outdated protective shells that prevent us from being truly vulnerable and supported.

Let this Wolf Full Moon in Cancer guide you to honor your pack, protect your inner peace, and intentionally nurture the seeds of 2026, ensuring your heart is as resilient and warm as a winter hearth.

Full Moon: What It Is and Why We Honor It

Every month, the full moon brings the lunar cycle to its peak, bathing the night in powerful, visible light. This phase marks a time of culmination, manifestation, and release. It is when the seeds planted during the preceding new moon (the New Moon in Sagittarius) come to full expression, illuminating what has grown—and what needs to be pruned.

The full moon is a sacred time to pause, acknowledge your emotional resilience, and cleanse your energy of anything hindering your sense of safety. This isn’t just a celestial event—it’s a call to shed old defenses and prepare for the quiet work of building a soul-led life.

Cancer: The Sign of the Hearth and the Heart

Each full moon is shaped by its relationship with its opposing zodiac sign; while the Sun is currently positioned in structured, ambitious Capricorn, the Moon reaches its full expression in the intuitive and emotional sign of Cancer. Cancer, the fourth sign of the zodiac, is uniquely powerful during a full moon because it is the only sign ruled by the Moon itself, making this a homecoming of sorts for our lunar energy. Symbolized by the Crab, Cancer embodies the rhythmic cycle of the tides and the necessity of a safe harbor, offering the warmth of the home and a fierce, protective instinct toward the family or “pack”. As a cardinal water sign, Cancer does not just sit with feelings; it initiates deep emotional connections and actively seeks to build a sanctuary for the spirit. This sign governs the Fourth House of home, roots, and heritage, serving as a cosmic reminder to align our external ambitions with our internal, foundational needs for comfort, privacy, and true belonging.

Cancer constellation

Cancer, the crab, is the dimmest of the 12 zodiac constellations, yet it contains one of the brightest star clusters, the Beehive Cluster. In Greek mythology, the constellation Cancer represents a giant crab named Carcinos that attacked Hercules during one of his 12 labors. The goddess Hera sent the crab to distract Hercules while he fought the Hydra of Lerna, a water serpent. Cancer was able to grab Hercules’s toes with its claws, but Hercules killed it with a kick before it could cause more damage. Hera felt sorry for the crab and rewarded it for its efforts by placing it among the stars as the constellation Cancer.

In Egyptian mythology, the Cancer constellation was associated with the sacred scarab beetle, an emblem of rebirth and immortality. The connection comes from the scarab’s behavior of rolling dung into a ball, which the ancient Egyptians saw as a symbol of the forces that move the sun across the sky, thus connecting the beetle and the constellation with cycles of renewal and eternal life. In Mesopotamian mythology, the Cancer constellation was often depicted as a turtle or tortoise, associated with the summer solstice and sometimes seen as a gateway to the underworld.

In Celtic mythology, the Cancer constellation is most closely associated with the goddess Cerridwen, who is often depicted as the keeper of a cauldron of knowledge, with the stars within Cancer representing the sparks of wisdom emanating from her magical brew; essentially, the constellation is seen as a symbol of the cauldron itself, signifying the potential for enlightenment and deep understanding.

The Wolf Moon: The First Full Moon of 2026

The January full moon is traditionally honored as the Wolf Moon, a title steeped in the lore of deep winter. This name is rooted in the haunting howls of wolves that were heard more frequently across the snowy, frigid landscapes of midwinter, signaling their presence during the year’s most frozen months. Beyond the literal sound of the predator, the Wolf Moon serves as a profound symbol for the power of the pack and the necessity of community to survive the “long night” of winter. This lunation calls us to tap into our primal instincts to survive and thrive even in the harshest conditions, reminding us that we are strongest when we are grounded in our own territory and surrounded by those we trust. As the first full moon of 2026, it sets a tone of resilience, asking us to listen to our inner wild and protect the flame of our intentions as the new year begins.

As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the cold moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are, stillness, introspection, community, resilience, wisdom, rest, and the coldness of winter.

  • Mörsugur (Norse) Fat (most likely animal fat) Sucking month
  • Great Spirit Moon or Spirit Moon Ojibwe Native American origins
  • Mantis Moon (Praying Mantis) South African origins
  • Ice Moon Catawba Native American origins
  • cold moon
  • frost exploding moon
  • When Snow Blows Like Spirits In The Wind Moon
  • Stay Home Moon or Quiet Moon Celtic
  • Bear Hunting Moon (táan kungáay) Haida Alaska Native American origins
  • Moon After Yule (Anglo-Saxon)
  • Sun Has Not Strength To Thaw

The Significance of the Last Supermoon

As a Supermoon, this lunation appears larger and more brilliant in the sky because it is near its closest point to Earth in its orbit. This physical proximity creates a powerful energetic “tug” on our internal tides, amplifying the lunar effects to their highest intensity. Because this moon falls in the sign of Cancer, you can expect your emotions to run exceptionally deep; the tides of your heart may pull more strongly than usual, demanding that you sit with your feelings rather than sweeping them aside. This Supermoon also blends the fierce “Wolf” energy of winter with the protective nature of the Cancerian Crab, creating a primal urge to defend what is sacred—your peace, your home, and your inner circle. As the final Supermoon in this series, it acts as a cosmic spotlight, shining directly into your private life to reveal whether your emotional foundations are built on shifting sands or solid rock. This proximity amplifies the lunar effects:

  • Heightened Emotion: In the sign of Cancer, expect feelings to run deep. The tides of your heart may pull more strongly than usual.
  • Primal Protection: The Wolf energy combined with the Cancerian Crab creates a powerful urge to protect what is sacred to you.
  • Illuminated Roots: This light shines directly into your private life, revealing whether your foundations are built on sand or solid emotional rock.

Themes of the Wolf Full Moon in Cancer

This lunation brings the essential themes of security, belonging, and intuition to the forefront, urging us to prioritize our emotional well-being as the cornerstone of the new year. A major focus is Emotional Security, which involves identifying what truly makes you feel safe and “at home” within your own skin. It is also a time for honoring Family and Ancestry, acknowledging both the blood relatives and the soul-family that sustain your spirit. To truly harness this energy, we are called to practice Vulnerability by consciously releasing the hard “crab shell” we often wear for protection, allowing for deeper, more authentic connections with others. Finally, this moon heightens our Instinct, encouraging us to trust our “gut” feelings and internal compass just as much as we trust logic or external facts.

  • Emotional Security: Identifying what truly makes you feel safe and “at home.”
  • Family & Ancestry: Honoring the blood and soul-family that sustain you.
  • Vulnerability: Releasing the hard “crab shell” to allow for deeper connection.
  • Instinct: Trusting your “gut” feelings as much as your logic.

What to Be Cautious Of

While the energy of Cancer is nurturing, when it is unchecked or over-amplified by the Supermoon, it can lead to moodiness, over-sensitivity, or a refusal to let go of the past. You must be wary of falling into a “Crab Mentality,” where you inadvertently pull yourself or those around you down into old emotional rants, grievances, or unnecessary drama. There is also a risk of extreme Defensiveness, where you might use your emotional shell to shut people out completely rather than setting healthy, flexible boundaries that allow for love to enter. Lastly, beware of Nostalgia Overload; getting too lost in the memories of “how things used to be” can create a stagnant energy that prevents you from seeing the beauty and opportunity available in the present moment. Be wary of:

  • Crab Mentality: Pulling yourself (or others) down into old emotional rants or drama.
  • Defensiveness: Using your shell to shut people out instead of setting healthy boundaries.
  • Nostalgia Overload: Getting so lost in “how things used to be” that you miss the beauty of the present.

Howl your emotions out ritual with the wolf moon

This first full moon of the year is the wolf moon remember? So why not connect to the spirt and energy of the wild and wise wolf under the full moon rays of light by communicating like them tonight. One of the simplest ways to release pent-up emotions and energy is to actually howl at the moon just like wolves like to do. Though we now know that wolves howl for different reasons (including to find pack members or to coordinate a hunt), this full moon we can take a cue from these majestic creatures and do our own howling. The howl is the spirit of the wolf unleashed in its divine expression.

So this full moon Do what the wolf does: howl to the Moon. With all the stress and unwanted emotion in life let it go, howl what is in your heart. Let loose what is in the depths of your soul. The Moon is listening. Sitting with the Full Wolf Moon especially in cancer you will know that you are not alone.

How to do this:

When the moon is high out in the sky get some warm clothes on and head outside under the moonlight. Find a place where you can get a clear view of the full moon and be alone. Then stand with your feet apart and put your hands on your hips creating your strongest power pose. Focus on drawing the energy of the moonlight down into you and your pose. Feeling the untamed wild , wisdom, and intuition of the wolf. Allowing the rays of the full moon to hunt down the things that need to be released tonight. Once you feel they have been found. With a deep breath as loud as you can howl as the wolves do and let it all out. Feel the tension, the stress, the past wound, the pain, and the hurt, leave you now with the depth of your howl and be left to the winter wild.

Cancer and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First, let’s talk about the sign Cancer. The zodiac sign Cancer is known for its duality, which is represented by the crab’s hard shell and soft underbelly. Cancer energy is said to be tough and protective on the outside, but nurturing and emotional on the inside. Like the crab this energy allows us to retreat into our shell and home we carry on our back and be grounded safely in it. But, when we need to we can stand our ground and defend the home we carry on our backs and protect it until the end. Even though we will feel protective, this energy also allows us to feel, be sensitive, and to nurture not only others but, ourselves. We may feel resilient and hard on the outside right now, but on the inside the waves of emotions are crashing all around us and we internally don’t feel strong and protected.

Second, the full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality.

Final Thoughts

As the Wolf Full Moon in Cancer on January 3rd glows against the winter snow, let it be a luminous reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a profound strength. This potent lunar cycle invites you to descend into your private depths to nurture your roots, honor the loyalty of your pack, and lean into the primal instincts that guide you safely through the dark. It is a time to retreat from the demands of the external world so that you may feed your soul, protect your precious energy, and move into the heart of winter with a spirit that is both intentionally shielded and beautifully soft.

Under the amplified gaze of this final Supermoon, the veil between your external life and your internal sanctuary is thinned. Allow the brilliant light to illuminate the path back to your truest self, showing you exactly what you need to feel secure, loved, and grounded as the new year unfolds. How will you use this Supermoon’s clarity to find your way home to your own heart?

Soar into Abundance under the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius

This mystical June , we prepare to embrace the Strawberry Full Moon illuminating the skies on June 11, under the fiery, adventurous spirit of Sagittarius. This full moon, named for the ripe strawberries harvested by the Algonquin and Ojibwe tribes in early summer, pulses with energy of growth, sweetness, and bold exploration, urging us to savor life’s abundance and pursue our highest truths. As the Strawberry Moon rises, we’ll feel a surge of joy, a call to chase our dreams with fiery passion, and an invitation to release doubts that weigh us down. In the weeks following, we may find ourselves blossoming toward new possibilities, empowered by gratitude and vitality. Join me in this guide as we soar into abundance under the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius!

First, What is the Full Moon?

Across centuries, the Moon has been a sacred guide in diverse cultures and traditions. The full moon marks the moment when the Moon is fully illuminated, reaching its zenith in the lunar cycle—a powerful peak of expression and energy. This occurs when the transiting Sun and Moon stand in opposition across the zodiac, a celestial dance that stirs our inner waters, given our bodies are over 60% water. Full Moons are the crescendo of the lunar cycle, with the Sun’s light fully revealing the Moon, offering a mirror to our emotions and hidden desires.

This luminous alignment opens a portal to manifest our deepest dreams, channeling peak creative and passionate energy to shape the life we envision. While the new moon plants seeds, the full moon activates the work to bring those seeds to fruition, bridging intention and action beyond its brightest night. There are myriad ways to harness this energy—explore the basics in my lunar magic blog post here. Each full moon, like this Sagittarius Sturgeon Moon, carries unique vibrations tied to its zodiac sign, inviting us to align with its magic.

The Strawberry Moon

As June’s warmth ripens the earth, the night sky glows with the Strawberry Full Moon, a name gifted by the Algonquin and Ojibwe tribes, who celebrated the season of strawberry harvesting in early summer. Though not visually distinct, this moon shines in its golden or rosy hue, radiating energy of sweetness, fertility, and the joy of nature’s peak. The Strawberry Moon invites us to celebrate abundance, embrace vitality, and align with the earth’s generous gifts, a time to gather the fruits of our labor with gratitude.

Following May’s Flower Moon, the Strawberry Moon carries forward the theme of growth, resonating with the fiery energy of midsummer and the promise of harvest. It’s a call to savor life’s pleasures, to embark on new quests, and to dance with the earth’s spirits under the moon’s light. Use this moon to reflect on your journey, recalibrate your dreams, and infuse your spirit with the courage to pursue your truth. Across cultures, the June full moon bears other names, each echoing themes of bounty and renewal:

  • Strawberry Moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe)
  • Rose Moon (European)
  • Hot Moon (Cherokee)
  • Mead Moon (Medieval English)
  • Thunder Moon (Algonquin, some years)
  • Green Corn Moon (Sioux)
  • Moon When the Ponies Shed (Dakota)

So, Who is Sagittarius?

As the ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and wisdom, and governed by the fire element, igniting passion and inspiration. Known for its love of freedom, truth, and adventure, Sagittarius is the archer, aiming its arrow toward the stars with boundless optimism. When the Moon aligns with Sagittarius, we feel a magnetic pull to explore new horizons, seek higher knowledge, and embrace our inner wanderer, encouraging us to trust our journey and release what limits our growth.

The Sagittarius Constellation

The Sagittarius constellation gleams in the southern sky, its stars forming the shape of an archer with a drawn bow, a symbol of aspiration and pursuit. In ancient Greek lore, it’s linked to Chiron, the wise centaur who taught healing and archery, while Babylonian myths tie it to Pabilsag, a god of war and wisdom. The constellation’s bright star, Rukbat, pulses with energy of direction and purpose, aligning with Sagittarius’ questing spirit. For many cultures, this celestial archer marked a time of harvest and travel, reflecting its themes of expansion and discovery.

What to Be Cautious of During a Sagittarius Full Moon

Sagittarius’ fiery enthusiasm is a gift, but its shadow can bring restlessness or overconfidence. Sagittarius Full Moon and Duality

As a grey witch, I seek the duality in every lunar energy. The full moon itself embodies duality as a time of culmination and release, pulling us into a liminal space where we harvest gains and let go of what hinders us—a dance of light and shadow. Sagittarius’ duality lies in its balance of freedom and wisdom. While it craves adventure and expansion, it also teaches us that true liberation comes from inner truth. Sagittarius reminds us that duality—action and reflection, growth and release—is the key to a fulfilling journey.

Shadow Work Under the Sagittarius Full Moon

Shadow work, the art of facing our hidden fears and unhealed wounds, finds a unique rhythm under the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius. This moon’s fiery, expansive energy, enhanced by Jupiter, illuminates the shadows of doubt and stagnation we’ve buried, urging us to confront them with bold honesty. Sagittarius’ quest for truth encourages us to explore our inner wilderness, while its optimism fuels the courage to release what no longer serves. This is a time to ask: What fears keep me from my dreams? What beliefs limit my growth? Journal these shadows, then use the moon’s energy to release them through rituals like burning a list of doubts or meditating on your inner archer. Shadow work here can lead to profound liberation, guiding you toward your most authentic, adventurous self.

Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius Ritual: Arrow of Sweetness

This ritual harnesses the Strawberry Moon’s vitality and Sagittarius’ adventurous energy to manifest and release.

What You’ll Need:

A piece of paper and pen

A bowl of water

A small arrow or stick (to symbolize the archer)

A red or gold candle

Fresh strawberries or red flowers (e.g., roses)

Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Sacred Container: On June 11, under the Strawberry Moon, set up your altar with the candle in the center, surrounded by strawberries or flowers. Light the candle, invoking Sagittarius’ energy.
  2. Set Your Intention: Write an intention on the paper—something you wish to manifest or release (e.g., “I release doubt and attract sweetness”).
  3. Charge Your Arrow: Hold the arrow, visualizing it as your archer’s tool. Say:
“Under the Strawberry Moon in Sagittarius, I charge this arrow with my intention. May it soar to my dreams with power and joy.”
  4. Release Your Intention: Submerge the paper in the bowl of water, imagining old energy dissolving. Aim the arrow upward, visualizing it hitting your goal.
  5. Close the Ritual: Scatter the strawberries or flowers in a body of water as an offering, saying:
“Thank you, Strawberry Moon and Sagittarius, for guiding my abundance. May my journey bloom and prosper.”
Keep the arrow on your altar as a symbol of your quest throughout June.

Reflection Prompts

After the ritual, journal your experience with these prompts to deepen your connection:

Dive into Transformation under the Flower Full Moon in Scorpio

This month’s full moon illuminates the skies on May 12th, 2025, immersing us in the deep, transformative energy of Scorpio as the Flower Moon blooms. The energy of this Flower Full Moon is one of intensity, rebirth, and emotional unveiling, encouraging us to plunge into our inner depths while honoring the blossoming abundance of May. As the Flower Moon glows, we’ll feel a surge of passion, a call to confront hidden truths, and an invitation to shed old skins like the scorpion, ready to embrace a journey of profound renewal. In the days and weeks following this Full Moon, we may find ourselves releasing buried emotions and rising empowered. Join me in this blog post as we dive into transformation under the Flower Full Moon in Scorpio!

First, What is the Full Moon?

Over the centuries, the Moon has played a significant role in different cultures and traditions. The full moon is when the moon is completely illuminated in the sky, reaching its peak in the lunar cycle. When the moon is fully illuminated, it’s a time for all to reach full expression—a potent moment of power in the lunar cycle.

A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). This alignment affects us deeply, as we’re made up of 60% or more water, and the full moon’s pull stirs our inner tides. Full Moons are the peak point of the lunar cycle: the Sun fully illuminates the Moon, and the luminaries oppose one another from our perspective on Earth. This potent alignment offers opportunities to gain awareness of our inner and emotional world, revealing what was previously hidden.

With the moon fully illuminated, it creates a portal to some of the most potent energy for manifesting our desires and dream life. This portal connects us to our peak creative energy and deep-seated passions—the energy we need to create the life we desire. While the new moon phase is about planting seeds for manifestation, the full moon is about doing the work and moving energy to make those dreams reality. The full moon bridges these energies, reminding us of their importance beyond the night it shines brightest.

There are many ways to work with the full moon. To learn more about the basics of full moon energy, check out my blog post here and watch my class on lunar magic. Each full moon is unique, with different practices based on the zodiac sign it’s in—tonight, that’s the intense, transformative Scorpio.

The Flower Moon

As the sun warms the earth, coaxing flowers to bloom in vibrant abundance, the night sky shimmers with the radiant energy of the full moon known as the Flower Moon. The Flower Moon, a name given to the May full moon, originates from the Algonquin tribes of North America, who observed the explosion of blossoms during this time. Despite its name, the Moon doesn’t appear floral but glows in its usual golden or white hue. The energy of the Flower Moon is alive with growth, fertility, and the joy of spring’s peak, encouraging us to embrace abundance, creativity, and the beauty of nature’s cycles.

Following April’s Pink Moon, the Flower Moon truly embodies the heart of spring, aligning with Beltane’s fiery energy and the earth’s renewal. It’s a reminder to celebrate life’s blossoming, to plant intentions in fertile soil, and to dance with the fae under moonlight. Use the Flower Moon to reflect, recalibrate, and align with your soul’s path, letting its energy inspire bold new beginnings.

As with most pagan names, different cultures have their own names for the May full moon, reflecting themes of growth, fertility, and renewal:

  • Corn Planting Moon (Algonquin)
  • Milk Moon (Anglo-Saxon)
  • Hare Moon (Celtic)
  • Vesak Moon (Buddhist, celebrating Buddha’s birth)
  • Bright Moon (Cherokee)
  • Mulberry Moon (Chinese)
  • Moon When Leaves Are Green (Dakota)
  • Flower Moon (Modern Neo-Pagan)
  • Moon of the Horse (Sioux)
  • Planting Moon (Ojibwe)

So, Who is Scorpio?

As the eighth sign in the zodiac, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto (modern) and Mars (traditional), planets of transformation and passion. The water element, associated with emotion and intuition, governs Scorpio, adding a layer of depth and intensity to this sign. Known for its love of truth, power, and rebirth, Scorpio is the zodiac’s scorpion, diving into the mysteries of life and emerging renewed.

Scorpio, the Scorpion of Transformation

Scorpio is symbolized by the scorpion—a creature that sheds its skin to grow, representing death, rebirth, and resilience. This sign is driven by a quest for emotional truth, power, and hidden knowledge, seeking to transform beyond limitations. When the Moon is in the intense sign of Scorpio, you’ll feel a magnetic pull to confront your depths, uncover secrets, and embrace your inner strength. Scorpio doesn’t shy from the shadows; it dives in, emerging with newfound power, encouraging us to heal and rise with courage.

The Scorpio Constellation

The Scorpio constellation lies in the southern sky, its bright stars forming the shape of a scorpion with a curved tail. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was linked to the goddess Ishara, associated with love and war, while Greek mythology ties it to Orion, whose death by scorpion sting led to their eternal chase across the sky. The constellation’s heart, marked by the red star Antares, pulses with passion and transformation, aligning with Scorpio’s deep energy. For many cultures, Scorpio in the sky marked a time of harvest and preparation, reflecting its themes of renewal.

Scorpio the Sign of Transformation and Depth

Scorpio is a water sign driven by a thirst for emotional truth and transformation. It wants to explore the depths—psychologically, spiritually, and emotionally—seeking experiences that heal and empower the soul. Under this Full Moon, Scorpio’s energy will push us to face our shadows, release pain, and emerge renewed. It’s a time to honor your inner strength, to seek truth in your emotions, and to let go of what no longer serves you. Scorpio reminds us that life is a cycle of death and rebirth, and every layer we shed reveals our true power.

Scorpio the Sign of Power and Healing

Ruled by Pluto and Mars, Scorpio is the zodiac’s healer and alchemist, always seeking hidden power and wisdom through healing. During this Full Moon, the energies of Scorpio will amplify our desire for emotional clarity and empowerment. We’ll feel called to confront our deepest fears, to heal old wounds, and to harness our resilience. This is a time to trust your intuition, to learn from your past pain, and to share your strength with others. Scorpio’s intense depth can illuminate buried truths, helping us transform our lives with newfound power.

Pluto’s Transformative Influence is Active

Pluto, the planet of transformation and the underworld, is especially active under this Full Moon, magnifying Scorpio’s energy. Pluto encourages us to face our shadows, to release what binds us, and to trust in our capacity for rebirth. After a period of introspection, Pluto’s influence now urges us to dive into our emotional depths, to plant seeds of healing in the fertile soil of May, and to believe in the power that awaits. This transformative energy can help us manifest our deepest desires, but it also asks us to remain grounded in self-love for the journey.

Mars Adds a Fiery Intensity

Mars, the planet of action and passion, aligns with this Full Moon, adding a dynamic spark to Scorpio’s water. Mars will fuel our drive to pursue our emotional goals with courage and determination, but it can also make us obsessive. This intense energy encourages us to confront challenges head-on, but we must balance it with Scorpio’s intuition to avoid burnout. Mars’ influence makes this an ideal time for rituals focused on healing, empowerment, and breaking emotional barriers.

What to Be Cautious of During a Scorpio Full Moon

Scorpio is a revered sign for its depth and resilience, but its intense energy can have a shadow side. This Full Moon may make us overly secretive, leading to isolation or suppressed emotions. Scorpio’s piercing honesty can also stir jealousy or power struggles if we’re not mindful of our boundaries. Additionally, the desire for control might tempt us to resist vulnerability. Balance this energy by grounding yourself—connect with water, reflect before reacting, and embrace your emotions with compassion.

Scorpio Full Moon and Duality

As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy. First, the full moon itself embodies duality as a time of transformation and transition, pushing us into a liminal space where we confront obstacles and release what holds us back. This can be both hopeful and challenging, embodying light and shadow. Second, Scorpio’s duality lies in its balance of depth and rebirth. While it craves emotional intensity and truth, it also teaches us that true power comes from surrendering to transformation. Scorpio reminds us that duality—vulnerability and strength, death and renewal—is the key to profound growth.

Shadow Work Under the Scorpio Full Moon

Shadow work is the practice of confronting and integrating the hidden, suppressed parts of ourselves—our fears, insecurities, and unresolved wounds. The Flower Full Moon in Scorpio, with its watery, transformative energy, is a powerful time for shadow work. Scorpio’s piercing intensity illuminates the shadows we’ve buried, urging us to face them with raw honesty. This moon’s depth, amplified by Pluto, encourages us to dive into the abyss of our psyche, while Mars adds the courage to confront what we uncover. Chiron’s presence further deepens this work, as the Wounded Healer guides us to transform pain into empowerment.

To engage in shadow work, ask yourself what emotions you’ve been suppressing. Are you holding onto resentment that blocks your healing? Do you fear vulnerability, keeping your true self hidden? Journal these shadows, then use the moon’s energy to release them through rituals like burning a letter of grudges or meditating on your inner waters. Shadow work under this moon can lead to profound healing, helping you step into your most authentic, empowered self.

The Aquarius New Moon, happening alongside the beginning of the Year of the Snake, encourages us to welcome renewal, seek clarity, and embrace the beauty of transformation by shedding our skins.

New moon what it is and why we honor it

Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we climb the highest mountains to reach our dreams this year with the Capricorn new moon. The new moon is the time to reflect and cleanse your energy. It is a time to set your intentions for what you wish to attract this lunar cycle. But, remember every intention set requires action and energy from your part as well. You can’t just set an intention and miraculously it is yours. You must also put the movement of energy behind it with action steps.

The new moon energy is there to support you in manifesting what you want. The new moon is a time to allow new ideas and energy to flow with you. It is a time to honor new beginnings, and the turning over of a cycle. Think of these intentions as seeds you are planting for this lunar cycle to be ready to harvest by the full moon. Use this time to rest, reflect, and plant what you will grow just as your ancestors across many cultures did while there was little light in the night sky for them to use.

Each New Moon is unique, offering its own magic within each month. To learn more about the foundations of working with the new moon, and how it affects you, read more here in my previous blog post.  And to learn more about the moon in general and lunar magic you can read my comprehensive guide on the topic here. Chinese new year, celebrating the lunar new year

Before we get to know the water bearer Aquarius, we first need to talk about another energy coming into play. Because this new moon is a special one marking the beginning of the lunar year and calendar for many cultures. One of the most popular cultures to celebrate the lunar new year is the Chinese. The Chinese new Year is perhaps the most elaborate, colorful, and important in the culture. Chinese New Year, just like the Western new Year, signifies turning over a new leaf and starting something new. Marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season, Chinese New Year celebrates looking to the future for new beginnings with themes of happiness, health family, and good fortune. This Chinese new year marks the arrival of the Wood Snake, a rare and meaningful combination that appears only once every 60 years. This year of the Snake signifies introspection, subtle power, and transformative growth. It embodies a quiet yet potent and sometimes lethal energy capable of illuminating hidden paths and fostering deep emotional and spiritual understanding. Its strategic, resourceful nature makes it an excellent year for long-term growth. To learn more about the the Chinese new year and how to celebrate it today alongside this new moon read my guide here.

So who is Aquarius?

Aquarius is the sign that brings progression, liberation, innovation, and world-mindedness to the zodiac. It’s the sign of broad learning, and the shedding of the past. It’s the sign of new, and sometimes radical, beginnings. Even though it is commonly mistaken for a water sign due to it being represented by the water bear; it is actually attached to the element of air. This is because Aquarius represents the movement of knowledge, wisdom, creativity, and connection to the collective through life. By spreading it on the breath of the spirit ( AIR) to humanity for the greater good. Aquarius allows for the flow of ideas and gifts for humanity with the ability to tune into the universal mind and think outside the box without fear. Aquarius is the futuristic sign of the universal collective due to it’s placement being the 11th sign and looking both at the end of cycle and towards the next one.

Aquarius Constellation

The constellation of Aquarius is depicted as a youthful boy pouring water in the mouth of a fish, the fish that represents Pisces, the zodiac sign that follows Aquarius on the calendar. In Greek mythology, Aquarius represents the youthful shepherd boy Ganymede. He was the son of Tros of Dardania, who is credited as the founder of Troy which made him a Trojan prince. The story goes that Ganymede was herding sheep when Zeus, came down disguised as an eagle. Zeus was very impressed by the beauty of the young prince. Homer said Ganymede was the loveliest and most beautiful born of the race of mortals. Zeus was so infatuated with him and his beauty so he took Ganymede to Mount Olympus. Once they got there, Zeus made Ganymedes the cupbearer for the gods. Where he would refill their drinks so, Zeus could admire he beauty.

What to be cautious of with the Aquarius new moon

During an Aquarius new moon, you might want to be aware of relationship issues and insecurities. This means be careful to not let yourself get detached from others. This can happen easily during an Aquarius new moon since it pushes us to be independent and seek more space on our own. The next thing to be cautious of is to not let your emotions consume you or others drama and extreme emotions either. The Aquarius new moon is a time known to bring up repressed feelings and create some clarity in your life you may have been unaware of until now. Like maybe you are in a toxic relationship. The Aquarius new moon will force you to accept this and have you want to create plans to change that. Just make sure you are not doing so hastily and listening to the wisdom that Aquarius can bring. Lastly, make sure those repressed feelings I talked about just a bit ago, don’t consume you and get out of control. Make sure to do things that soothe your soul, comfort your inner child, and love yourself through acts of self care.

Aquarius New moon and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. This includes the new moon and the energy of the zodiac sign it currently is in Aquarius. First, the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space, energy, and time. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from an ending and death.

Second, let’s look at the duality of the energy of Aquarius. First off Aquarius is ruled by two planets Uranus and Saturn. Which are quite opposing energies to each other. Uranus is very dreamy, and a future focused energy while Saturn is very disciplined and logic based. This unique mix of duality is why Aquarius energy is what shakes up the collective, brings new inventions, and changes the status quo. This energy is seen as the driving force behind revolutionary ideas and groundbreaking solutions, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

However, this same unwavering dedication to help the collective with new innovations and ways of thinking, can also be a double-edged sword. Aquarius energy can be very stubborn with a refusal to compromise or consider alternative perspectives. This can sometimes lead to a sense of arrogance, seeming like a know it all, and alienating those who don’t share in our dreams to reshape the collective.

Dive into the depths of your emotions to shed your skin and transform during the Scorpio new moon

We are entering a new lunar phase on November 1st; the New moon. As the Moon changes signs approximately every 2-3 days, we feel the influence over our moods and intuition shift. This month we find the moon in the investigative, intuitive, passionate, emotional, sensual, and transformative, sign; Scorpio. The Scorpio New Moon on November 1st, brings a lot of intensity and passion, especially focused on new beginnings, new ventures, new relationships, and the beginning of new karmic cycles. The energy of this Scorpio new moon will feel very similar to that of the lunar eclipse. It’s a time for purging, changing, and reassessing our lives. This new Moon, more than others this year, opens a doorway to the subconscious, allowing us to see energies normally hidden. With the energy of the transformative, investigative, and intuitive Scorpio new moon happening right when the veil is the thinnest during the year, it is time for us to become intimately aware and familiar with our shadows and what we keep hidden. Which can allow us to grab onto this moment of profound transformation and self-discovery. We likely need to work on a major transformation, and this can be intense, but ultimately leads to solutions and frees us. This is a time when you’ll look within to truly understand the depths of your feelings. This period of introspection could lead to greater self-awareness as well as an awareness of those around you including your relationships with others and yourself. This Scorpio new moon will have us diving into an ocean of emotion asking us to look at how we support not only others but ourselves. Giving us the passion to speak up and express what it is we need to feel supported that is seeded deep within our hearts. Come dive into the depths of your emotions and investigate what you find there to shed your current skin in transformation with the Scorpio new moon in this blogpost.

New moon what it is and why we honor it

Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we reorder the soils of our lives with new moon in Virgo.

So, who is Scorpio?

Scorpio, the ruler of the 8th house is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac. Because of its incredible passion and power, Scorpio is often mistaken for a fire sign. In fact, Scorpio is a fixed water sign that derives its strength from the psychic, emotional realm. Scorpio is associated with the underworld and the dark side of human nature. That is because it is ruled by the planet Pluto, who has dominion over the underworld, aka the realm of the dead. But, keep in mind dark doesn’t mean evil or bad, it simply means the absence of light, and the stuff hidden out of our sight. Scorpio is a unique sign though, because it is thought to be dually ruled. Scorpio’s traditional ruler is the planet Mars. This accounts for the somewhat aggressive and manipulative nature of the scorpion we see, representing this sign with it’s venomous sting. The modern ruler of the sign is Pluto, which emphasizes its themes of transformation, death and rebirth.

The Scorpio Constellation

The Scorpius constellation is located in the Southern celestial hemisphere, where it sits near the center of the Milky Way. It is also one of the brightest constellations in the sky.

In Greek mythology, the constellation Scorpius was identified with the scorpion sent by Gaia, that stung Orion, the mythical hunter. This was all after he claimed there was no animal on Earth he couldn’t kill. When Orion began bragging, he would kill every animal, the Earth goddess Gaia sent Scorpius the Scorpion to sting and kill Orion instead. Ever since the two lie opposite each other in the sky, and Orion is said to be fleeing from the scorpion as it sets just as Scorpius rises. In one version of the myth, Orion tried to rape the virginal goddess Artemis and she sent the scorpion to punish him for that violation.

In another part of the world Hawaii, it has a different tale attached to another figure Maui. In Hawaii, they know Scorpio as the demigod Maui’s Fishhook. One day Maui went fishing with his brothers in their outrigger canoe. He brought with him a magic fishhook, instructing his brothers that whatever he caught with it, they were to continue paddling and never look back. Maui caught a huge object and asked his brothers to paddle harder while he pulled the line. As Maui hauled, many rocks appeared. The more he pulled, the more rocks appeared. Finally, he pulled hard enough that the large chunks of land surfaced from the ocean, which became known as Hawaii.

Scorpio the scorpion

The scorpion is Scorpio’s primary symbol. Scorpions inflict disabling stings with their tails, and they’re considered rather cunning and/or vengeful. The scorpion is an amazing, complex creature that is bent on survival. It’s hostile, defensive, cautious, and has a keen sense of its surroundings. Scorpions crawl on the ground, hide in dark corners, and, if threatened, strike out with their deadly tails. Much like the Scorpion would rather kill itself than be killed, Scorpio is the Sign giving us the ultimate control over our destiny.

Themes for the Scorpio new moon

Every New Moon contains its own themes, which are related to the sign that it falls under. This time, we experience the New Moon in the investigative, intuitive, passionate, emotional, sensual, and transformative sign of the scorpion; Scorpio. The Scorpio New Moon is all about diving into the depths of your subconscious and riding the waves of our emotions to healing, hidden secrets and deep transformation. It’s about being brave enough to confront the dark parts of your life and who you are allowing it to heal your deepest scars and alchemize it into power and manifesting the life you truly want. This Scorpio new moon is an opportunity to plant seeds of transformation and invite profound and lasting change in our reality by letting go of what has run its course or no longer serves us. This new moon coming right after the veil being pulled back on Samhain night creates a very cyclical karmic energy adding a boost to the already present energy of new beginnings. Let’s explore some of the themes and energies of Libra deeper below.

Let’s explore some of the themes and energies of Scorpio deeper below.

Scorpio the sign of alchemy and transformation

Scorpio rules over the process of alchemy and transformation. Scorpio is all about who you are becoming in relationship to life and the journey of embodying your true authentic power. This is because, it is not only a water sign connected to our emotions and intuition but, also ruled by the planet Pluto. Pluto, is the planet of transformation, the underworld, and death. This means death in the sense that something comes to an end and transforms into something else (very similar to the Death card in tarot). I talk about this all the time in my classes. Death is crucial and central to every area of our lives especially when it comes to profound transformation, healing, and enlightenment. A death of some kind must happen for something to be born. This is an opportunity to WELCOME and honor how you are changing shape. It is Scorpio who companions us on the journey to the underworld as we look at the areas of our life that need our tender love and compassion. Take advantage of this transformational moment and try not to run away from the darkness and the breaking apart. The intention is to break to rebuild. Scorpio has this ability to regenerate and transform like no one else and always comes out stronger from a battle. As the sign of extremes, Scorpio energy can draw out both our darkest shadows and our most enlightened selves.

Scorpio the sign of Investigating the dark and deep

Have you already heard that Scorpio is the most intense sign of the zodiac? This is because it’s a water sign, so it’s ruled by emotions, and is always looking inside like a detective. Its gaze is investigative and never fears the truth. A new moon Scorpio is known as a time of deep introspection caused by the depth of our emotions. Scorpio isn’t afraid to explore dark or deep things, making it a very psychic and investigative sign that isn’t afraid of diving deep into dark depths of the ocean in our hearts. And like the depths of the ocean even if we come up for a breath Scorpio will pull you relentlessly back down, again, and again, and again. Down, into the depths of your emotions until you no longer fight the waves of your emotions but, succumb to the ebb and flow of the endless waves. This period of introspection could lead to greater self-awareness as well as an awareness of those around you. This ability to get in touch with the intricacy of your own emotions gives you the insight needed to understand others’ motivations. Don’t be surprised if you have a few light bulb moments during this time.

Scorpio the sign of unleashed sexual desires

Scorpio is the sign most closely associated with sex: this is due to their enigmatic nature which is what makes them so seductive and beguiling. This sign even rules our reproductive and sexual organs! Sex isn’t solely about pleasure for these sensual scorpions though. They also crave the physical closeness, spiritual illumination, and emotional intimacy sex can provide. When the moon is in the sign of Scorpio it is oozing sexual passion, and desire. With it also being a time about going into your dark depths you may have some desires being illuminated you normally shy away from or simply have not acknowledged. This is the perfect time to not run and hide from them but, to approach them without fear and experience the waves of pleasure those dark sexual desires can bring you and your partner. Use this energy to expand and unleash your sexual pleasure with your deepest sexual desires coming to the surface from the depths where you let them usually rest. Than tap into the enlightenment, enhanced intimacy, and manifestations powers this boosted raw sexual power can have in your sex magic.

What To Be Cautious Of This Scorpio New Moon

Since Scorpio has a tendency to bring anything hidden to the surface, your truth radar may be sending you additional communications. Listening to your gut instinct is important now, and especially due to the volatility of this energy. But, be very mindful to exercise emotional maturity if something needs to be addressed. It could be easy, during this window, to end up in emotional drama, conflict, or to simply blow up on others with our words. So stay conscious of your emotional awareness and use this powerhouse energy to fuel your desires instead of getting steeped in drama, conflict, and damaged relationships.

Scorpio new moon and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First, let’s talk about the duality of Scorpio. I find a lot of duality in Scorpio from the give and take of sexual passion, to the spectrum of our emotions we feel. But the most profound aspect of duality with Scorpio I feel is it’s investigative nature with our emotions and the deepest parts of ourselves. The need to dive deep into our subconscious, and investigate the feelings we keep hidden in dark can be a powerful container of duality. It’s a time when we are called to sit with the uncomfortable truths within us, the ones we’ve been avoiding, and allow them to lead us toward profound personal growth. The balance between these forces can feel like a dance between surrender and action, and healing and discomfort.

Second; the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space, energy, and time. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from and ending and death. If you want to know more about duality and being a grey witch you can watch my class with Divination Academy about it here.

Scorpio New moon transformation spell

This spell some may not be able to do but, if you can it connects you to the energy of water and the transformative energy Scorpio sends crashing into our souls this new moon. Lending you the power the darkness and depths our emotions churning in the waters of our soul have. To do this spell you need to be able to get yourself somewhere sacred in the woods where you may find a running river, creek, or brook.

What you will need: a spell bag or pouch, a piece of paper and pen, rosemary, ginger, coriander, tea leaves, cinnamon, mint, lavender, Dandelion (flower or seeds)

How to perform: Go to a wooded area and find a tree with a branch hanging near your water source. Sit down, and get yourself into sacred container. Taking in a deep breath and focusing on the smells, sights, and sounds of the transformation in nature all around. Then with a deep willingness and readiness in your heart to change, grow, and transform take your pen and paper and write your intention. Once done take the paper and place it into your pouch or spell bag locking your commitment and intention to change inside. With your next big breath take your herbs and add them as well if you would like you could even add a piece of hematite. Then hold your spell bag in your hands once again taking in a deep breath pulling in the energies of transformation all around especially the running water you have found. Envision the intention you had set and all the work it will take to go deep within the depths of your emotions to transform your life and how you feel. Then with your next deep breath take your bag knotting it tight locking your intention to transform with Scorpio guiding you tonight. Next take your spell bag and tie it to a branch with water running near, leaving it here for the water, the wind, and the Scorpio new moon to fuel your intention of transformation this eve.

Ritual Full Moon Bath

Taking a moon bath is an extremely soothing way to harness the power of this moon phase. A Moon bath can be an especially powerful practice when the Moon is transiting the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. This is because the element of water is activated, i.e charged up – like a crystal, it has more potential to HOLD intention and frequency. So, this new moon take a ritual bath to help you connect to your depth of your emotions in Scorpio right now. I would recommend to have your items added to your bath right now be focused

Top tip: Using Moon water in your ritual bath will take it to the next level!

Sex Magic To enhance your sex life

With this new moon in Scorpio being so deeply connected to our sexual desires, passions, and energy this moon is an extremely potent time for any type of sex magic and sex work. This includes doing spells to enhance your sex life. Wrap up

The New Moon in Scorpio brings a potent opportunity to dive into the shadowy parts of ourselves, shedding old layers and making space for emotional and spiritual rebirth. It’s a time when we are called to sit with the uncomfortable truths within us, the ones we’ve been avoiding, and allow them to lead us toward profound personal growth. Scorpio’s influence over this new moon asks us to embrace the intensity of our inner world and use it as fuel for empowerment and transformation.

The Magic of Monday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Monday. For many Monday is the first day of their work week, and a day they dread feeling they are forced back into being productive. But, Monday is one of my favorite days when it comes to energy and magic we can align with, as it’s the day we really have the ability to go deep within ourselves and connect to our emotions, intuition, and psyche.

Monday is ruled by the moon

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Monday is ruled by the moon. The powers of the moon are vast and varied across cultures and the earth. They range from being used for healing, love, prosperity, protection, fertility, death, rebirth, and more. This connection makes it the perfect day to connect to our intuition, our emotions, and our psyche.

With this day being connected to the moon it is also deeply connected to your divine feminine energy in most cultures and practices. Which makes it a great day to perform spells and workings associated with the divine feminine including shadow work and womb healing. Monday is also connected to the many lunar deities across the earth, cultures, and times. Some deities you can work with to connect to the magic of Monday and the Moon are ;Thoth, the man on the moon, Sin and more. You also have many goddesses you can work with today as well like; Selene, Artemis, Diana, La Luna and more.

Magic and Witchcraft themes

When it comes to magic and witchcraft you can certainly cast spells whenever you need them. But, if you want a little extra oomph, and when you want to amplify your results, aligning your spell casting with the correct day of the week is one way to do that. Monday is the best day to perform magic that has to do with your dreams, emotional healing, fertility, spirit work, enhancing your intuition, nurturing, matters of the home and family, and cleansing. Some of the most potent spell workings to do today are; performing an emotional healing spell to achieve emotional balance and inner peace. Enhance your intuition by focusing on receiving insights and guidance from your guides. Develop your psychic abilities with spells aimed at expanding and sharpening your psychic senses. Perform cleansing spells to remove negativity, and dream recall spells to help make dreams vivid and memorable.

Work with and balance your Sacral chakra

Your sacral chakra is the wheel of energy located between your navel and coccyx. It spins in the area of your reproductive organs and is the color orange. The sacral chakra represents sexual health and creativity. When it’s unblocked, you express your sexuality in a healthy way AND creativity flows into all aspects of your life. The Swadhisthana, or sacral chakra, helps inform how we relate to our emotions and the emotions of others. It also governs creativity and sexual energy. Those with a blocked sacral chakra could feel a lack of control in their lives. Below are some ideas on how you can balance your sacral chakra today.
