Nurture your emotions, release past wounds, and heal under the Wolf full moon in Cancer

The first full moon of 2025 graces the skies with a watery and emotional current of energy in the sign of the Crab Cancer on January 13th. As the moon finishes her cycle in Cancer we are pushed to dive deep into the depths and waves of our emotions. Cancer is one of the most sensitive and intuitive signs of the zodiac. It’s ruled by the moon so when the moon is in the sign of Cancer at any time, you can be sure you’ll be feeling more emotional than normal especially during a full moon! Cancer rules emotions, and you can work on any emotional issues. You can work on facing those feelings you have let sink to the depths of your psyche, embrace them with compassion, and surrender to the waves and let them go. The Cancer full moon connects us with the feeling of home within ourselves, pushes us to develop a new awareness of our emotional nature, and establish a new relationship with our sensitivity and vulnerability. It represents our foundation in life, our home, our roots, and our family of origin or our motherland. So during this full moon our healing and release work can focus on things like our childhood, generational traumas, and toxic family dynamics as well. The Full Moon in Cancer is a profound opportunity to nurture your emotional landscape, connect with your inner world, and release what no longer serves you. Let’s surrender to the waves of our psyche and our deepest emotions riding on the back of the crab under the glow of the full moon light in this blogpost together.

First, What is the Full Moon

Over the centuries, the Moon has played a significant role in different cultures and traditions. The full moon simply put is when the moon is completely illuminated in the sky and it has reached it’s peak in this lunar cycle in the sky. When the moon is completely illuminated it’s time for all to reach full expression. The full moon is the most powerful and potent time of the entire lunar cycle.

A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). The full moon greatly affects humans and it’s no wonder it does because, there’s a scientific reason for this – we are made up of 60% or more of water. Full Moons are the peak point of the lunar cycle: at this time of the month, the light of the Sun is fully illuminating the Moon, and the luminaries are exactly opposing one another from our perspective on Earth. This potent alignment offers us opportunities to gain more awareness about what is moving in our inner and emotional world, and information previously uncertain or hidden could be revealed at this time.

With the moon being fully illuminated it creates this portal to some of the most potent energy to connect to for us to manifest our desires and dream life. This portal creates a connection to our peak creative energy and the deep seated creative passions we all have within us. This creative energy and power is the energy we need to actually do and create the things and lifestyle we need to manifest what we desire. With the new moon phase being about planting the seeds of what you want to manifest, the full moon is about actually doing the work and moving the energy to make your manifesting happen. The full moon allows you to bridge the connection between these energies and themes and bring them into your life while reminding you how important it is to have them in your life not only when the moon is illuminated in the sky for you to see.

There are so many ways to work with the full moon, to learn more about the basics of working with the full moon energy check out my blog post here and you can watch my class all about lunar magic. But, remember each full moon will be slightly different and have different practices to add and different ways to do it based on which zodiac sign the full moon is currently in at the time.

The wolf moon

During January, as the long harshness of winter has settled in for awhile and food sources to hunt become scarce. The howl of hungry wolves coordinating to take down their prey is something we commonly hear. This is why the full moon of January is known as the wolf moon. This first full moon of the year is an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with what truly matters. The howling wolves have long been a signal of the deep winter season. The Wolf Moon symbolizes both introspection and the power of community. The Full Moon of January connects us to Winter’s strength, the resilience of the wolf pack in harsh condition, and quiet stillness. Wolves, are revered for their wisdom and instinctual nature, and serve as symbols for individuals seeking a deeper connection with their inner selves. Like the pack-oriented wolves, this full moon reminds us of the importance of fostering relationships, improving communication, and achieving harmony in all aspects of life.

As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the cold moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are, stillness, introspection, community, resilience, wisdom, rest, and the coldness of winter.

Who is Cancer?

Like, I said before each full moon will be amplified and influenced by the zodiac sign we find it in and this time the full moon is in the sign of Cancer. So who is Cancer? As the fourth sign Cancer is the very bottom of the Zodiac which makes it associated with our foundations and the core of who we are. As a water sign Cancer is not afraid dive into the depths of emotions and create a nurturing environment to heal the wounds of the past. Cancer represented by the crab is known to be very emotional, nurturing, sensitive, and deeply intuitive.

Cancer constellation

Cancer, the crab, is the dimmest of the 12 zodiac constellations, yet it contains one of the brightest star clusters, the Beehive Cluster. In Greek mythology, the constellation Cancer represents a giant crab named Carcinos that attacked Hercules during one of his 12 labors. The goddess Hera sent the crab to distract Hercules while he fought the Hydra of Lerna, a water serpent. Cancer was able to grab Hercules’s toes with its claws, but Hercules killed it with a kick before it could cause more damage. Hera felt sorry for the crab and rewarded it for its efforts by placing it among the stars as the constellation Cancer.

In Egyptian mythology, the Cancer constellation was associated with the sacred scarab beetle, an emblem of rebirth and immortality. The connection comes from the scarab’s behavior of rolling dung into a ball, which the ancient Egyptians saw as a symbol of the forces that move the sun across the sky, thus connecting the beetle and the constellation with cycles of renewal and eternal life. In Mesopotamian mythology, the Cancer constellation was often depicted as a turtle or tortoise, associated with the summer solstice and sometimes seen as a gateway to the underworld.

In Celtic mythology, the Cancer constellation is most closely associated with the goddess Cerridwen, who is often depicted as the keeper of a cauldron of knowledge, with the stars within Cancer representing the sparks of wisdom emanating from her magical brew; essentially, the constellation is seen as a symbol of the cauldron itself, signifying the potential for enlightenment and deep understanding.

Cancer The sign to nurture your emotions

Cancer is a water sign associated with nurturing, intuition, and empathy. The Moon is at home in Cancer and illuminates our innate desire to focus on our deepest emotional needs. The cancer moon reminds us of the importance of letting our emotions flow, of sitting with our emotions without judging them, without rationalizing them, and without attaching a story to them. The Cancer full moon infuses us with its energy. Making it a powerful time for emotional healing, enhancing psychic abilities, letting go of past wounds, breaking generational patterns, and nurturing relationships. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones, creating a comforting environment, or simply honoring your own feelings, the Full Moon in Cancer highlights the importance of caring for your inner world. Remember, tending to your inner world is just as important as taking care of others during this extra sensitive and emotional full moon.

Cancer The Ruler Of Home And Family

Cancer is the ruler of the home and family, so we can focus more on home and family matters. This can be a time to work on healing wounds from your childhood, releasing past toxic patterns, and redefining the dynamics in your home and relationships. When the full moon is in Cancer this is a time to go back to our roots, who we are, where we came from, and work on releasing anything holding us back emotionally that is connected to our generational lineage, our childhood, and our upbringing. Now is a great time to begin looking into childhood wounds and working to start to healing them. Cancer is also the sign of mothering energy, so during this Moon you’ll feel a stronger urge to nurture and care for not only your own family more deeply, but everyone as if everyone was one of your children.

Cancer the sign of heightened intuition

Cancer is one of the most intuitive signs of the zodiac and has a natural ability to understand other people. This sign has an uncanny ability to sense the moods of others . This sign really is ruled by their intuition and gut feelings, which often proves to be a trusty compass for them. Guiding them to react to others with compassion and empathy giving them the emotional support they need. To connect to the heightened emotional intuition of Cancer this full moon it’s an excellent time for enhancing empathy, and deepening your intuitive abilities by working with your clairs. This allows you to follow that gut instinct about peoples true emotional state, even when it’s not what you see on the surface.

Eris is active

I don’t normally talk about other energies too much but, I have a soft spot for Eris. I feel she gets such a bad rep and she is so overlooked. Especially for her ability to bring empowerment , fight for the under dog, and bring about much needed justice. So, whenever she is active I always try to bring it up and make a note of it. Eris is known to bring destruction and unsettling energy, but this is only to achieve a greater harmony. Eris can see what is old, broken, or is in need of a massive change. She fights against oppression and outdated beliefs, aiming to bring more freedom. though she is known to be a bit erratic when she feels offended. I mean she did play a big hand in the destruction of troy. When she is active she can ignite some inner rage to stand up for yourself, and even get into the fight for justice within our community. To learn more about her energy and myths check out my class on her in the dark goddess devotionals class with DiviNation here.

What to be cautious of this Cancer full moon

When it comes to the Cancer full moon emotions will be really heightened and it’s easy to become moody if you don’t express how you’re feeling. So make sure to express those hidden feelings that you have allowed to sink to the depths. Another thing to be cautious of with the full moon in Cancer is to not allow yourself to build up stronger defense walls. The crab likes to retreat behind the walls of it’s castle to remain safe and protected as the waves of emotions crash upon the shore of your soul. But, don’t let yourself do that by lashing out in passive aggressive ways to those you love and care about. Allow the walls of your castle to soften and come down this lunar cycle instead of allowing them to be reinforced. The last thing to keep in mind is to make sure you don’t allow the nurturing pull of the crab to overcome you. It’s great to care for others and nurture others but, not at your own expense.

Cancer and duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First, let’s talk about the sign Cancer. The zodiac sign Cancer is known for its duality, which is represented by the crab’s hard shell and soft underbelly. Cancer energy is said to be tough and protective on the outside, but nurturing and emotional on the inside. Like the crab this energy allows us to retreat into our shell and home we carry on our back and be grounded safely in it. But, when we need to we can stand our ground and defend the home we carry on our backs and protect it until the end. Even though we will feel protective, this energy also allows us to feel, be sensitive, and to nurture not only others but, ourselves. We may feel resilient and hard on the outside right now, but on the inside the waves of emotions are crashing all around us and we internally don’t feel strong and protected.

Second, the full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality.

Spell for emotional healing

Cancer is the sign of emotions and nurturing which makes it a very potent time to go within and do some emotional healing. Especially with family wounds, childhood wounds, and scars from the past. Use the spell below during the cancer full moon to bring emotional healing to your life as you surrender to healing waves where the crab resides.

What you will need:

  • a bowl of water
  • pink candle
  • oil
  • Lavender, pink rose petals, rosemary, cinnamon
  • rose quartz

How to perform spell:

Get into sacred container by taking some deep breaths and visualizing pink, loving, and nurturing energy surrounding you. Once you feel set in sacred container take the herbs and grind or mix them together. Once done take your oil and anoint your pink candle with it focusing on loving pink energy open you up to emotional healing. Next, take your candle and roll it in the herbal blend you mixed. Next set it next to your bowl of water asking to connect to the energy of the crab and the depths of your soul. Once your items are set light your candle. Take your rose quartz and hold it in your hands while reciting the spell below staring deep into your bowl of water.

” Water wash over my heart and soul to soothe what needs to mend, healing energy to me please send. Heal the inner scars and wounds you touch and I wish to no longer carry. Heal my heart, and soul so here on out I can be peacful and merry.”

Repeat the spell as many times as you feel you need to. Until you feel your emotional wounds mend, heal, and be released. Leave the candle to burn until it goes out on it’s own. Take your bowl of water and give it to the earth outside thanking it for absorbing your emotional wounds as you do so. Carry your rose quartz with you for as long as you need to bring you love and emotional healing throughout the day.

Howl your emotions out ritual with the wolf moon

This first full moon of the year is the wolf moon remember? So why not connect to the spirt and energy of the wild and wise wolf under the full moon rays of light by communicating like them tonight. One of the simplest ways to release pent-up emotions and energy is to actually howl at the moon just like wolves like to do. Though we now know that wolves howl for different reasons (including to find pack members or to coordinate a hunt), this full moon we can take a cue from these majestic creatures and do our own howling. The howl is the spirit of the wolf unleashed in its divine expression.

So this full moon Do what the wolf does: howl to the Moon. With all the stress and unwanted emotion in life let it go, howl what is in your heart. Let loose what is in the depths of your soul. The Moon is listening. Sitting with the Full Wolf Moon especially in cancer you will know that you are not alone.

How to do this:

When the moon is high out in the sky get some warm clothes on and head outside under the moonlight. Find a place where you can get a clear view of the full moon and be alone. Then stand with your feet apart and put your hands on your hips creating your strongest power pose. Focus on drawing the energy of the moonlight down into you and your pose. Feeling the untamed wild , wisdom, and intuition of the wolf. Allowing the rays of the full moon to hunt down the things that need to be released tonight. Once you feel they have been found. With a deep breath as loud as you can howl as the wolves do and let it all out. Feel the tension, the stress, the past wound, the pain, and the hurt, leave you now with the depth of your howl and be left to the winter wild.

Final thoughts

This full moon being the last one before we enter the year of shedding with the wood snake is your cue to slow down, tune into your intuition, and prepare for the release that naturally flows with the full moon. Whether it’s letting go of emotional baggage or simply acknowledging your inner world, this Full Moon invites you to nurture yourself and those closest to you. The Full Moon in Cancer is all about emotional release and healing especilay with the wolf howling by our side. This full moon encourages you to acknowledge what’s been submerged beneath the surface of the waves and let go of any emotional weight that no longer serves you. Working with the magic of October; reflect with death, decay, and rebirth

As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, we notice how this month beckons us into the depths of the world around us and the shadows within ourselves. October is a month of ancestors, death, transformation, and walking in the shadows, and is marked by the festival of Samhain and Halloween. It’s a time to honor the ancestors, remember the dead, and celebrate the thinning of the veil between the worlds. This month’s magic is a time to release, of letting go, and death. It is the month that reminds us of the importance of endings. Showing us the beauty in taking a moment of reverence to honor where we have been and where we came from. At the same time reminding us that it is necessary for a vibrant new beginning. As we give thanks for the harvest of this year and the stores we have prepared for the dark, bitter, Winter months ahead. We take the time to connect to the cycle of death and decay, fertilizing the soils where one day our future seeds will be planted to bloom for all to see.

History of October

October is the 10th month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars with a length of 31 days. The name October means 8th month in Latin as it was the 8th month of the year according to the old Roman Calendar which began in March.

Zodiac Signs For The Month Of October

Those born in October are said to be born under either the sign of the scales Libra or the scorpion Scorpio.

First, Libras are born between September 23rd–October 22nd. They are known for being charming, diplomatic, and peace-making, and are said to have a strong moral compass and the ability to see both sides of an argument. They are also known for being obsessed with symmetry and balance, and strive to create equilibrium in all areas of life.

Second, Scorpios are born between October 23 and November 21. They are known for being passionate, intuitive, sensual, and emotional. Scorpios are known for their intense passion and magnetic presence. They are also said to be fierce and enigmatic.

Thinning of the veil

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, many spiritual traditions recognize a time known as the Thinning of the Veil during the month of October. This concept is central to festivals like Samhain, Halloween, and the Day of the Dead, where it’s believed that the boundary between the world of the living and the world of spirits becomes thinner. So, what does the thinning of the veil actually mean? The Thinning of the Veil refers to the belief that during certain times of the year; especially in late October and early November; the division between the physical world and the spiritual realm weakens. This allows spirits, ancestors, and other supernatural energies to come closer, offering an opportunity for reflection, communication, and connection. This concept aligns with the seasonal transition from autumn to winter. The veil’s thinning is a powerful symbol for many people, representing a time to pause and honor the cycles of life and death. It’s believed that during this period, it’s easier to communicate with ancestors and receive messages from the spirit world across many cultures and practices.

Sacred Days And Celebrations In October

Every Single month has sacred and important days and celebrations to help you connect to the energies of the month. Plus they usually are a lot of fun to take part in! Below you will find a list of the sacred days and celebrations for the month of October and there are many for this month! But, first we are going to talk about the one that is front and center this month for pagans, and witches. We even see it on the wheel of the year. In case you didn’t know; the wheel of the year; is a visual representation of the cyclical nature of time and the seasons, and symbolizes the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. This month we celebrate the sabbat, Samhain, a festival marking the end of the harvest season, the beginning of the darker half of the year, and the thinning of the veil when our ancestors are the nearest.

Samhain

Samhain is probably the best known Wheel of the Year holiday. Irish Gaelic for “Summer’s End” Samhain (pronounced Soo-Ween) is a Celtic festival that takes place from October 31 to November 1. It marks the end of summer, the harvest, and the darker half of the year. the veil between the physical and spirit worlds is thin during Samhain, allowing for more interaction between the two. This time of the year is to close the year, reflection, set intentions for the year to come, celebrate and honor deities of the dead and our ancestors. Samhain is also considered the Witches and Wiccan New Year too many. This is when the Wheel of the Year, which represents the solstices, equinoxes and cross-quarters, now comes to an end and will start over again the following day after Samhain.

To learn more about Samhain you can check out my ritual from Samhain 2023 with Divination on youtube today!

Álfablót

Alfablot is deeply rooted in Norse culture and practices. It was a time when the people honored the Alfar, their ancestors/ the elves, with sacrifices, rituals, and offerings left at their burial mounds. Alfablot literally means Alfar and blood sacrifice or the elven sacrifice. So essentially, this was an observance that consisted of giving offerings or sacrifices to the Alfar, the elves or our ancient male ancestors. Álfablót was celebrated at the end of the harvest season, around the same time as Samhain, the Day of the Dead, and later all saints day. How this day was actually celebrated is shrouded in intense mystery but, what we do know is the women of the family usually led the festivities on the families property at the end of harvest season.

Dias De los Muertos

Day of the Dead combines the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors with All Souls’ Day, a holiday that Spanish invaders brought to Mexico starting in the early 1500s. The holiday, which is celebrated mostly in Mexico on November 1 and 2, is like a family reunion, except dead ancestors are the guests of honor. Día de los Muertos is a joyful celebration that is more about healing than feeling bad. It is also a time to face mortality and not be afraid of it. It’s a time when families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. Even though it is celebrated on November 1st I wanted to include it this month to give you prep time.

To learn more about Dias de los Muertos you can learn all about it on Divination Academy’s YouTube channel today!

Magical And Witchcraft Themes For October

In witchcraft, October is a time of magic, transformation, and honoring the cycle of life and death. As the days grow shorter and the nights longer in the Northern Hemisphere, witches embrace the energy of the season to connect with their ancestors and the spirit world. It’s the month when we are able to communicate with them more easily and we welcome them alongside us once again. This month encourages us to be more aware of the cycles of life and to appreciate the beauty found in change. To embrace the necessity of death and decay for with it comes rebirth, transformation, and change. It is also a time for reflection, where we look back on what we have experienced and what we are grateful for. This is the time of the year when we reap what we have planted, nourished, and sown. This is the month we welcome our shadows and the things that we hide in the dark.

The gods and goddesses of October

With every season and month there are certain themes, magic, and energies we have the ability to connect to including deities. Everyone works with and views deity energy a little differently. Whether you view them as archetypes of the human consciousness, representations of the source energy, or as being entities on their own, there are certain deities that now is the time to connect to and honor them in the most sacred and amplified way.

During this month a few deities take center stage because they have festivals or sacred days during this month to help you connect with them in a very intimate way. The deities that are going to be the best for you to connect to right now are deities connected to the fall, our ancestors, the spirit realm, death, rebirth, the afterlife, shadows, and the underworld. You can also choose to work with the energy of Samhain and the deities associated with it. Below we will talk about some of the deities you can work with this month.

Persephone

In Greek mythology, Persephone is the goddess of agriculture, the spring, the Underworld, duality, and the wife of Hades. Prior to her marriage with Hades she was known as Kore, which means “daughter” or “maiden”. I find this to be crucial to her story and representation of rebirth, because, before she grabbed power in her marriage to Hades, the gods hadn’t even given her a name or her own place of power. Which makes no sense to me because she was born from two of the most powerful deities. Persephone is the daughter of Zeus, the chief god, and Demeter, the goddess of agriculture. For her to have such little power, be sheltered, and not have her own place of power within the pantheon was in injustice she would rectify through the power of rebirth and duality by becoming Hades wife. As the wife of Hades, Persephone governs the realm of the dead by his side with grace, compassion, and might. Persephone’s presence in the Underworld brings a sense of balance between life and death. Working with her this month you can call her as guide into the underworld and communicating with the your ancestors on the other side.

To learn all about this alluring, intriguing, and transitional goddess, and see her story in a whole new light. Plus meet her in a guided meditation you can watch my class all about her here!

Dionysus

Dionysus is a Greek god most well known for his wine-loving ways, but there’s SO much more to him than what’s on the surface. He is the Greek god of wine, intoxication, sacred polarity, ecstatic trance, dance and theatrical performance, sacred hallucinogens, and masked processions and festivals. He is a very unique god in the Greek pantheon because, he isn’t thought to be one of the original Olympians. But, to have originated from Thrace as a titan and later was added to the pantheon. He not only wasn’t part of the original 13 deities of the Greek pantheon but, he is said to be twice-born. Before he became Dionysus he was born to Zeus and Persephone as their son Zagreus. His story is one of death, sacrifice, transformation, and rebirth which is why he is such a great deity to work with during this month. Use him and his love of wine to help you connect to the deepest shadows of yourself to allow rebirth and connect to the spirits in the underworld.

If you would like to learn more about his first life as Zagreus, what his story means and how he can show up in your life join the Modgepodgemystic Mysteries my patreon community today where I share my journey with him.

Hekate

To some she is Hecate, others Hekate. For many, she comes without a name revealing herself during times of great personal pain and loss. To others she the triple goddess. There is much to learn about Hecate from the written records, but for a witch to truly know Hecate, we need to experience her.
Hecate is a complex goddess with a long history. Hecate is an ancient Greek Goddess often associated with the Underworld, witchcraft, necromancy, crossroads, the spiritual realm, and the moon and so much more. She is the Goddess of Witchcraft, a guide along the path, and the universal Keeper of the Keys. The Guide who leads us back to our soul. And she is a face of The Great Mother, creatrix and destroyer of all. She is a liminal spirit – she guards the thresholds between the human and spirit world. She is the bringer of power and healing. She spins the wheel of time, weaving her magic and mystery throughout. The fiery spark that lives in all the universe. Working with her during this month allows her to hold the torch for you as you walk to the crossroads with your ancestors by your side to choose your path for the next year ahead.

To learn more about her and meet her at the crossroads you can watch my class on her with Divination Academy here.

Osiris

Osiris is one of the most important deities in the Egyptian pantheon, he was the first son born to the god of earth geb and sky Nut. He was the Original ruler of the underworld until his wife Isis took over after his death at the hands of his own brother Set. Osiris was not only the ruler of the dead but also the power that granted all life from the underworld, from sprouting vegetation to the annual flood of the Nile River. He’s the god of fertility, resurrection, and the afterlife. Osiris is super important in the Egyptian underworld, called the Duat. He’s not only a god of the afterlife but, he is the one whom judges all the souls. When someone dies, their soul goes on a journey through the Duat, facing all sorts of challenges. Until The big moment at the end when the “Weighing of the Heart” ceremony takes place. They weigh the person’s heart against the feather of Ma’at, who stands for truth and justice. Osiris is there, watching and presiding over the entire thing. Being the one whom listens to the scales and judges each soul with fairness for all. Working with him this month can give you a chance to look at the weight of your own heart through reflection and do the inner work to still try and tip that eternal scale in your favor.

Lady Hel

The ruler of Helheim. Hel Goddess of the Dead, daughter of Loki, is much more than a mysterious name and looming, shadowy presence. She is a deity of immense complexity, but one that is worth learning from. Hel, also called Hella and Hela, is the daughter of the trickster god Loki and the witch-giantess Angrboda in Norse mythology. Along with her brothers, the wolf Fenrir and the snake Jörmungandr, she was raised by her mother in a place called Járnviðr, the Iron Wood. She rules over the land of the dead, under one of the 3 roots of Yggdrasil, called Helheim. Yes, she is terrifying to behold, as the legends go, yet she brings transformation and paves the way for creation after destruction. When she manifests, she appears as a half-dead half-alive woman, showing the paradox between life and death. The polarity, that is needed for the Universe to continue on. Hel’s spiritual powers include death (physical and metaphorical), the afterlife, protection, transformation, omens, wisdom, mystery and ancestral connection. Work with her this month to learn more about ancestors, shadow work, and to explore your fears about death and the afterlife.

To learn more about her and meet her you can watch my class on her with Divination Academy here.

How to connect to the magic of October

We’ve talked a lot about all the different types of energies the month of October has and gives us access to work with. So, how can you specifically connect to those energies? In your everyday life you can make sure your affirmations , intentions, and manifestations align with the energies of the end of the harvest, duality, transition, death, our ancestors/ guides, the afterlife, remembrance, our shadows and the cycle of seasons. You can celebrate and honor any of the sacred days and holidays and connect to the energies of Samhain, Dias de las Muertos and any other days of the dead while the veil is thinning all around us.

Some Rituals and spell workings during this time that will be really intensified will be based on the cycles of the seasons, death, decay, and the darkness of the shadows surrounding us.  October is a time of the year where witches are able to really connect to the veil, the otherside, and our guides/ancestors. We can use this time to set up altars to connect to those who came before us in remembrance, honor, and respect. We can also take the time to cast spells and do divination work to speak to those who are walking among us from the otherside. Giving them the voices they have been longing for to carry their messages forward. October is a month where witches enjoy spending time in graveyards and cemeteries to perform rituals, say prayers, and connect to the dead who reside there. While all of these are magical, spiritual, powerful, and fun things to do let’s not forget to have proper graveyard etiquette. If you need to learn more about what that is come join me on October 23rd in my patreon community for an exclusive event to learn just that!

October creates a very potent liminal pocket of time that is teeming with duality, balance, and the power of transition through darkness, death, and decay. It’s a month that really pulls us to go deep within ourselves for introspection, reflection, self awareness, and growth. This makes it a great month to do any work on transformation, death, and letting go through shadow work. Allowing the energy of death in the finality of the harvest season to fertilizer your soul, during the cold winter months to bloom and grow after there is no more snow. If you would like to learn more about shadow work you can purchase my eBook here;  you can book me for a 1:1 session as your guide here; and you can watch my free class previously taught on it through Divination here.

Duality and the month of October

Since, I am a grey witch I look for the duality in every single energy I work with including sacred times like a month of the year like October. October is a month that really shows us how two things that are opposing can come together to create a time of both beauty, love, and joy while also creating death, sadness, and remorse. We see this theme all throughout the month with it starting off with Libra season. an energy encompassing beauty, harmony, and love and then ending in it’s cyclical journey with Samhain and holidays all about death, decay, and ancestors who have passed on. Speaking of; working with our ancestors, passed loved ones, and the thinning veil is the most dualistic aspect of this month over all. Working with spirits, ancestors and our passed loved ones when the veil is thinnest during this month allows us both a chance for comfort and solace. While also bringing us back to a place of sadness and loss. We are given a pocket in time where we can reconnect with those who were dear to us in a more tangible way than simply through memories. Working with them and allowing them into our homes during this month reminds us of the cycle of life. Reminding us to be grateful for our time on the earthly side of the veil and preparing us for when we will walk through it to be an ancestor ourselves.

Reflect with death, decay, and rebirth

We talked about many things in this blogpost including the history, some celebrations, the different energies and magical themes we can work with during this month, how to connect to those energies, deities we can honor and worship, and how to work with the magic of October. October is a time of powerful reflection, death, and spiritual connection. From the quiet introspection of Samhain to the lively celebrations of the Day of the Dead, this month reminds us of the ongoing cycle of life and death, and offers a chance to honor our ancestors. Whether you follow the rituals of Samhain, Halloween, or the Day of the Dead this month allows for a deep connection with both the past and the unseen world around us. Allowing us to bridge the gap between the past and where we are heading to next. October is the month when leaves fall thick to forest floors where they will decay and later be reborn. October is the month when the veil grows thin opening a door for a new cycle to begin.

Working with the Introspective, detail orientated, and helpful Virgo New Moon

We are entering a new lunar phase this week, on September 2nd; the New moon. As the Moon changes signs approximately every 2-3 days, we feel the influence over our moods and intuition shift. This month we find the moon in the practical, organized, productive, grounded, nurturing, compassionate, helpful, reflective, and detail orientated sign of the maiden; Virgo. As the moon begins her cycle in the sign Virgo; we feel a deep, introspective, and comforting pull to go deep within the soils of who we are to reflect. Virgo reminds us of the power each of our daily actions and decisions has. While pushing us to make the changes we must. This new moon calls for us to look at our own lives to see where we want to put some attention to detail towards ourselves.

When the New Moon in Virgo arrives, it’s a good time to embrace fresh starts and new beginnings. As an earth sign, Virgo’s energy encourages you to get organized and focus on precision. To focus on the execution of your plans to meet your goals and serve those in need throughout your community. Virgo is all about creating order out of chaos, making it the perfect moment to set detailed intentions and plan your next steps. Virgo rules work, small projects, tasks, chores, and the details. This makes it a time we can focus on what we need to get done with extra productivity and efficiency. The Virgo New Moon provides an opportunity to make a list and go through everything that you didn’t have the time or energy for the month before. Then get them done and out of the way now as you prep for the long winter ahead.

This Virgo new moon, brings balance to your life with order, logic, and grounding. The Virgo new Moon forces you to become aware of the state of your health as Virgo is the ruler of all matters of health and wellness in the zodiac. This includes your mental, emotional and physical health, which may push you to make changes in your lifestyle and allow you to get the support you need to release old hurts. This new moon also brings with it a sense of balance with all of the hard work you have to put in for the fall harvest that is right around the corner, while also celebrating the joy and gratitude for the bounty the Earth has given you this season.

New Moon What Is It And Why We Honor It?

Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we reorder the soils of our lives with new moon in Virgo. The new moon is the time to reflect and cleanse your energy. It is a time to set your intentions for what you wish to attract this lunar cycle. But, remember every intention set requires action and energy from your part as well. You can’t just set an intention and miraculously it is yours. You must also put the movement of energy behind it with action steps.

The new moon energy is there to support you in manifesting what you want. The new moon is a time to allow new ideas and energy to flow with you. It is a time to honor new beginnings, and the turning over of a cycle. Think of these intentions as seeds you are planting for this lunar cycle to be ready to harvest by the full moon. Use this time to rest, reflect, and plant what you will grow just as your ancestors across many cultures did while there was little light in the night sky for them to use.

Each New Moon is unique, offering its own magic within each month. To learn more about the foundations of working with the new moon, and how it affects you, read more here in my previous blog post.  And to learn more about the moon in general and lunar magic you can read my comprehensive guide on the topic here. So, who is Virgo?

This sign gets a lot of crap in the zodiac and many do not like to work with it and we often see people talking about how this is their most hated sign and energy to work with. For me this moon is one of my favorites every time it comes around. Maybe, it’s because I not only am a Virgo moon and rising, but I have Virgo in 9 of my houses so, when this moon comes around I personally am amplified. Or, maybe it’s because this energy is so dense and steeped in duality and movement. Which, I just simply can not wait to see what I can accomplish and get done while in it. But, let’s talk about who Virgo is to the Zodiac and the energy she represents.

Virgo is represented by the virgin or maiden archetype and is deeply connected to the element of earth and is a mutable sign. Virgo is an Earth sign so it’s practical, stable, and grounded but, it’s also related to Mercury. Which means it has an active mind and is related to communication as well. Virgo reminds us of the importance of maintaining a solid connection with the Earth and encourages us to connect with the divine order amidst the vast universal chaos. It reminds us the comfort the bounty of the earth has to offer all around us and the beauty order can create in nature.

The sign of Virgo, is rooted in the physical world which makes Virgo the sign of health and wellness, so right now we may focus on trying to work on health issues. This includes scheduling needed medical appointments, changing your eating habits, hydrating yourself, adding exercise, and adjusting your sleep schedule. Virgo’s ruling planet Mercury has dominion over the brain and the nervous system, which reminds us of the links between the mind and the functions of the body. This can be the perfect energy to use to help you eliminate a bad habit, or to quit something that is causing you harm.

Virgo can also be seen across many pantheons as a key representation to the seasons, duality, and a key part to the divine feminine energy we all are connected to. Virgo is represented by the maiden and virgin energy making her vital to the triple goddess representation of the divine feminine energy. She represents and connects us to the first pivotal transformation and shift we go thru in our lives moving from child to a maiden before the next phase into the mother energy of our lives. You see this energy and representation with goddesses like Persephone and her story of transformation to power thru duality.

Virgo the Maiden/Virgin

Unlike the majority of other zodiac signs, the symbol for Virgo is very unique since it is not an animal. Instead, the symbol is the beautiful maiden or the virgin and is depicted as a young woman carrying a sheaf of wheat, an image that can be interpreted as a fertility goddess or a harvest maiden. The maiden stands for beauty, purity, and tranquility. Virgo translates to “virgin” in Latin and the maiden is symbolic of this translation but, not in a literal sense. Her presence is considered a reflection of patience, integrity, and honor, all traits that the Virgo displays within the zodiac. The Virgo symbol of the Maiden also expresses the service-oriented qualities of this zodiac sign. As a grounded earth sign and an analytical mutable sign, Virgo is the purist of the zodiac, and also highly organized and clean.

The Virgo Constellation

Virgo is the largest constellation of the Zodiac and the second largest constellation in the sky located between the constellations Leo and Libra. It contains the bright star Spica, along with many exoplanets and deep-space objects. The constellation is also widely associated with the harvest. It marks the part of the sky where the Sun rises in autumn, when crops are harvested. In some Greek stories and myths, Virgo is Persephone, the daughter of the Greek goddess Demeter who ruled over the harvests. While in others, Virgo relates to Dike, the Greek goddess of justice. Virgo is therefore usually pictured as a young maiden standing or lying on her side and holding a sheaf of wheat. The star Spica represents the grain in her hand within the constellation.

Themes for the Virgo new moon

Every New Moon contains its own themes, which are related to the sign that it falls under. This time, we experience the New Moon in the practical, organized, productive, grounded, nurturing, compassionate, helpful, reflective, and detail orientated sign of the maiden/virgin; Virgo. The maiden is also the sign that represents our health, wellness, the mind, and the connection between our body and the mind. When you rearrange the soils of your soul, with not only the moon as your guide but the maiden as well. You are most likely to see themes focused on these topics as you sift through and analyze your emotions and thoughts. The Virgo New Moon is going to bring the spotlight on your health/ wellness, your inner thoughts and dialogue, your daily habits, as well as on the organization of your home and the tiny details that make up your life. Let’s explore some of the themes and energies of Virgo deeper below.

Virgo the Practical and analytical mind

Virgo is deeply connected to our practical and analytical side of our mind and it is heightened with it’s connection to mercury as well. With it being so analytical this energy can cause us to go deep into our minds and reflect. The Virgo new Moon highlights the invitation to notice in what areas of our lives we need more discernment, better boundaries, and a stronger connection with the Earth. Virgo likes to cut through the noise and get to the good stuff; constantly sorting out thoughts, feelings, and everything around. Virgo energy allows you to figure out what’s useful or useless, what’s true or not true, what’s right or wrong.

The Virgo new Moon offers us chances to see where better standards may be needed, where we may be ungrounded or excessively idealistic, and what needs to be differently structured or organized for the sake of better functionality or health. This lunation also invites us to refine our capacity to discern between the whispers of our intuition and the voice of our fears and insecurities. Take the time to really focus on differentiating between those voices especially in this energy and don’t allow the analytical energy of Virgo to turn into ruminating thoughts which it can very easily do. This new Moon in Virgo is a time to let go of self-doubt, perfectionism, and self-criticism as you step into your potential.

Virgo the sign of heightened productivity

The Virgo new Moon is often a time of heightened productivity. Virgo is the sign of work in the zodiac, and new moons rule beginnings; which makes this a time to really focus on the things you need to get done. Including the urge to create and start your to do lists. This is going to be overwhelming and you may become very hyper focused on them and take great joy in checking each task off the list as you finish it. We can take on and tackle all the tiny little projects, tasks, and chores at home or at a job, we have been putting off but, now must take care of and get done. This new moon is your chance to get organized, analyze your goals, and take action towards your dreams, without being overly critical of yourself.

Virgo is very detailed orientated, and thrives in order and cleanliness. So, when we are in this energy we can be focused and pay close attention to detail. By detail, I mean every tiny little detail. You may become aware of things in your life, your home, and relationships you never may have noticed before. Because, of this we can get hyper focused on tidying things up in our physical space by doing a fall cleaning, reorganizing our home, or purging and donating things.

With the extra attention to detail we can take a look at all areas of our life to see where it can use some more structure and order to lead to more efficient productivity. I know for me I end up redoing my bullet journal, my family binder, my schedule, my sons schedule, the list could go on. I end up endlessly planning and rearranging things but, in a very reflective way with purpose and drive for long term goals. Virgo reminds us that our time is finite and that we must treat it as a precious resource.

Virgo always being of service to others

Virgo is the sign of service to others and is overflowing with nurturing energy that simply wants to help anyone and everyone they see that needs it. Virgo is literally the healing energy of the cosmos and the energy that will help you with anything you need help with. Virgo takes deep happiness from helping others as well. You see this with many of your nurses, doctors, lawyers and social workers being from this sign. Virgo’s essence of being of service encourages you to align your actions with your heart’s desire, making this a powerful moment for intentional living for the greater good of the collective.

Since, Virgo loves to lend a helping hand, don’t be surprised if you are the first person to volunteer when a friend asks for a favor right now. But, don’t be mistaken; you won’t feel obligated in the least bit. Because Virgo loves to pitch in, you’ll not only want to come to someone’s aid, but you’ll also get extreme satisfaction from it.

This new moon makes it a great time to take a look around your community and see where you can serve those around you. What needs in community are not being met? How can you help those needs be met? How can you serve and nurture those around you? Where in your community can you volunteer your time to serve others? It’s a perfect lunation to start volunteering somewhere, plan a fundraiser, or host a community awareness event; especially focused on mental health with Virgo being the sign of the mind.

Virgo New Moon and Duality

Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it.

First, let’s talk about the sign Virgo.  I may be a bit biased on this sign to be honest since it is my birth sign, my ruling sign, and it dominates my entire chart ruling 9 of my houses. But, Virgo in my opinion is an energy that we miss the duality of often. Virgo is known for being very analytical, methodical, and detail oriented which creates an energy focused on change, goals, growth, problem solving, tiny details, and at times perfection. But, this sign is also one of the most compassionate, caring, and nurturing signs of the zodiac as well. Which also creates an energy that is very deep, loving, emotional, sensitive, and at times self sacrificing. The mix between these two energies weaves an energy and magic that pushes you to look at every tiny detail for perfection and ways to change things and those around you and for yourself. With the deep nurturing desire to push them and/or yourself to grow, heal, and be the best versions we are all capable of being for the greater good of the collective.

Second; the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space and energy. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from and ending and death. If you want to know more about duality and being a grey witch you can watch my class with Divination Academy about it here.

What To Be Cautious Of This Virgo New Moon

So, let’s talk about the reasons why this sign tends to be so hated and what to look our for yourself with the Virgo energy. Since Virgo is so attached to your analytical side and so detail orientated it can come off as and be very critical at times of others. So, try and slow down and be clear with your communication with others during this time. Let them know you are coming from a place of caring, and simply wanting to help.

With it being detail orientated one thing this energy may do is cause your reflection and analysis to get very critical and harsh with yourself and cause some perfectionism to take over. So, remember to focus on the part of the Virgo energy that is nurturing and helping to others and extend it to yourself. And remember Virgo is the sign of health so physical self care can really build self compassion and help keep your critical thoughts at a productive level and not allow them to reach a harmful one.

Remember how Virgo brings heightened productivity and a push to get stuff done? That can sometimes go into overdrive with the Virgo energy. It can become so strong you simply want to go, go, and go. You may feel the need to get so much done you push yourself to burn out. DON”T LET THAT HAPPEN! During this time remember that the only way you can continue to be productive is by taking those breaks now and than when you need them. So take them! Set yourself some reminders in your phone even if you have to. Nothing, feels worse than doing a massive amount of work to watch it all backslide because you burn yourself out and can’t follow through.

Shadow work questions for the Virgo new moon

Like, we have talked about many times in this blogpost this Virgo new moon you will feel the comforting pull of Virgo to be introspective, and really go deep into yourself. While you do this, consider what provides a sense of stability and what brings stress or chaos. This can help you make better decisions about where to put your energy. If you want to follow that grounding, introspective pull to self awareness from Virgo right now, shadow work is a great way to do this. Whether you do it thru meditation, actual shadow work, or just journaling while in reflection; below is a list of prompts and topics to connect with the energy of the Virgo new moon.

  • What are the areas in my life that need the most attention and improvement right now?
  • How do I envision my ideal day, and what steps can I take to make that vision a reality?
  • What habits do I want to cultivate to support my physical and emotional well-being?
  • What past experiences or patterns do I need to release to move forward with clarity?
  • What are the key values and principles that guide my decisions and actions?
  • How can I be of service to others while also honoring my own needs and boundaries?
  • What areas of my life need the most organization and structure?
  • Reflect on aspects of your life that feel chaotic or disorganized. How can you bring more order to these areas?
  • What habits or routines do I want to establish to support my well-being?
  • Consider daily practices that could enhance your physical, mental, and emotional health. What small changes can you make?
  • How can I be of service to myself and others during this lunar cycle?
  • Think about ways you can nurture yourself and contribute to the well-being of others. What acts of kindness or service resonate with you?
  • What goals do I want to achieve, and what steps can I take to reach them?
  • Identify specific goals and break them down into actionable steps. How can you use Virgo’s detail-oriented energy to create a clear plan?
  • What old patterns or beliefs do I need to release to move forward?
  • Explore any limiting beliefs or habits that are holding you back. How can you let go of these to make room for new growth?
  • How can I create a balanced approach to my work and personal life?
  • Reflect on your current work-life balance. What changes can you make to ensure you’re giving enough time to both areas?

Leaf Intention Setting Ritual

One of my favorite things to do when the air gets a little crisper, and the leaves begin to change color and fall; is to use the fall leaves for intention setting rituals! It’s a simple and fun thing to do and the prep gets you out into the beauty of nature which allows you the ability to connect to the element of earth; the ruler of Virgo.

For your prep work grab something to write with. I find that sharpies tend to work best for actually sticking to the leaves. If you don’t have any, you can also use small strips of paper you can mix into a handful of leaves. Next, take the time to head outside and go on a mindful nature walk while you look for and find as many leaves as you have intentions to set.

Once, you have them simply find a peaceful spot where ever you are in nature that is calling to you. Than take the time to take deep, mindful breaths in and out taking in all the sounds, smells, and sensations of the Earth all around you. Consider what provides a sense of stability to your life and what brings stress or chaos. This can help you make better decisions about where to put your energy and what intentions you are about to set. Envision the intentions now that you are going to set this lunar cycle. Focus on each tiny detail of your intentions. Focus on the plans and how you will achieve them and how productive they make you feel. When you feel set on your intentions write them on your leaves or little strips of paper while holding the vision of each detail in your minds eye. Finally, on your next exhale release your intentions to the winds of fall and the detail orientated and productive Virgo new moon.

Wrap up

However you choose to connect to this new moon and work with its energy be prepared to experience the reflective, productive, detail orientated, and grounding energy of the maiden. During this Virgo New Moon, remember it’s the perfect time to focus on organizing your life and setting detailed intentions. Virgo energy is all about precision and practicality, making it ideal for refining your daily routines and caring for your physical body. As you align with this lunar cycle, you’ll find that the structured approach of Virgo helps you create a solid foundation for your goals to achieve your wildest dreams. Remember this new moon calls for you to look at your own life to see where you need to focus on the attention to detail towards yourself and how you need to rearrange things for healthy productivity.

The magic of Saturday; amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Saturday. Saturday is the sixth day of the week in most cultures and calendars. Others view it as the last day of the week while in some Muslim cultures it’s the first day. In Judaism, Saturday is known as Shabbat, or the Sabbath, and is a day of rest and religious observance.

The name “Saturday” comes from the Old English word sæterndæg, which is a translation of the Latin Sāturnī diēs, meaning “Saturn’s Day”. The Romans named the day after Saturn, their god of agriculture, who was also associated with fertility, strength, wealth, feasts, and abundance.

Saturday is ruled by the planet Saturn

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Saturday is ruled by the planet Saturn. Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest planet in our solar system. Adorned with beautiful, bright, sparkling rings, Saturn is sometimes referred to as “the Jewel of the Solar System”. Saturn is also blanketed with clouds that appear as faint stripes, jet streams, and storms appearing many different shades of yellow, brown, and gray.

Magic and witchcraft themes

When it comes to magic and witchcraft you can certainly cast spells whenever you need them. But, if you want a little extra oomph, and when you want to amplify your results, aligning your spell casting with the correct day of the week is one way to do that. This day of the week got it’s name from the god of karma and time, Saturn or Chronos and connects us to Capricorn as well. Which makes todays energy all about time, karma, boundaries, baneful magic, discipline, structure, protection, banishing, material matters, and cleansing.

In mythology, Saturn dethroned his father Uranus which creates a cycle of life and death with the evolution of the old regime and the rebirth of a new one. Because of this, Saturn symbolizes concrete matter and birth-life-death cycles. This makes today an ideal day to do any spells related to destruction, abandonment, hatred, death, and disasters. Along with any type of spell work and rituals that enhance communication with spirits, ancestors, or working with the veil.

Just as Mars on Tuesday inspires us to pursue our goals, today Saturn gives us the spiritual and mental strength to do so. It increases our resistance by giving our intuition a sense of determination and gives us the attention to create realistic and successful plans. Saturn protects against any internal or external damage that may hinder us, so that we can follow our ambitions. This makes today a great day to cast spells to strengthen both the body and the mind as well.

We’ve talked a lot about all the different themes connected to the magic and energy Saturday has and gives us access to work with. So, how can you specifically connect to those energies and perform magic aligned with it? In your everyday life you can make sure your affirmations, intentions, and manifestations set today align with the energies of time, karma, boundaries, baneful magic, discipline, structure, protection, banishing, material matters, and cleansing.

Freezer jar spell for Saturday

Since, Saturday is ruled by the planet Saturn this makes it a great day to do any spells associated with boundaries and protection! One type of spell you can do is a freezer spell. The freezer spell for enemies serves as some of strongest levels of protection. Furthermore, its a self-defense spell to use against individuals who may wish harm or ill-will upon you. Whether you are dealing with a personal rival, a workplace adversary, or even a malevolent force, this practice can help create a barrier between you and the unwanted energy they represent and bring into your life. By literally “putting them on ice,” inside the jar, you regain a sense of control and agency over your circumstances.
How to perform:
Get into sacred space. On the piece of paper, write the name of your enemy or a brief description of the situation you wish to freeze.
Place the paper inside the container wrapped around one of the lemon halves, along with the basil, garlic, and pepper flakes. Visualize your desired outcome as you do so, focusing on the sense of liberation and protection you seek. Fill the container with water, covering the contents completely. As you do, envision the unwanted person or issue being sealed away and rendered powerless. visualize them or it being literally frozen in its tracks. Seal the container tightly and place it in the freezer. Come back to the spell once a week to charge it.

Break a bad habit spell

Since, Saturday is ruled by Saturn and Chronos this makes it a day steeped in the energy of boundaries, time, and discipline. This makes it a great day to sit down, take stock of your life and find the things that aren’t serving you any longer. The habits you do that hinder you and hold you back from reaching the goals you have set in life. To do what you need in order to structure your life for success and for you to thrive. This makes it a great day to perform spells to break habits, boost discipline, and build structure. Try this spell below today to break a bad habit in your life!

What you will need:
Red candle, black candle, chili powder, oil, ginger, basil, garlic powder, piece of paper or object that represents your bad habit.
How to perform:
Get into sacred container. Take your herbs and mix them together. Than take both your red and black candle and anoint them with your oil. Once done take your candles and roll them in your herbal blend coating them in banishing herbs. Next either write on your piece of paper the habit you want break and visualize yourself breaking it as you do. Or take you object representing that habit and hold it while visualizing yourself breaking it. Next place your candles on either side of your paper or object and light them. Again visualize yourself breaking that happen. Once you feel set in that intention, take the object and rip or break the object that represents the habit. If you have written the habit on paper do the same with the paper. Once done light the pieces on fire and chant these words; “Help to release me from the power of this bad habit. Red candle grant me your strength and passion, help me to break the bonds of this habit. Black candle provide me with your banishing power, rid me of my bad habit forever and always. Banish this habit, remove all traces so I can be free. Amen. aho. so mote it is.
Lastly take the ashes and bury them in the earth or throw them away in an outside garbage to remove the habit from your life.

Protection for empaths spell jar

We all need protection in our lives from the energies that we come in contact with each and every day. But, empaths need to make sure they are protecting their energies a little more. They have a natural ability to take in and absorb the energies and emotions of others around them which can lead to overwhelm, feeling drained, and having a hard time deciphering the difference between your emotions and others. Try creating this spell jar tonight to help protect yourself from others’ energies and emotions if your an empath for the week ahead. Place this jar on your altar or the room in your home you spend the most time in or are around others the most in. Don’t forget to go back and feed your spell jar as well!
If you need to learn more about how to make a spell jar you can purchase my eBook All about spell jars in the shop.

Saturday black candle banishing spell

Today is a great day to do a banishing spell to get rid of someone in your life who is causing you harm or is unwanted energy and no longer healthy for you to be around. Try this simple candle banishing spell tonight at midnight to remove that unwanted person from your life tonight! All you will need is a candle and some salt.
How to perform this spell:
take your black candle and use a pin or something sharp to carve the persons name and date of birth you want removed from your life. Than take your candle and place it in front of you. Take your salt and encircle your candle in a ring of protection.
Right before midnight light your black candle. after taking some deep breaths and getting into sacred container. At midnight visualize intensely the person no longer being in your life and no longer affecting you in any way. let the candle be consumed until the flame goes out.

Chord cutting using no tools

One of the best practices for releasing unhelpful attachments is a cord-cutting ritual, a practice that severs the energetic ties that are keeping you connected and attached to people and situations that are no longer serving your highest good. When a cord-cutting ritual is successful, you regain control of your energy and are free to be more intentional about how you direct it— and who you share it with. Which makes it a form of protecting your energy, yourself and your relationships. With today being Saturday it is a very potent night to perform a chord cutting and have success!

Remember there is no right or wrong way to do a chord cutting follow your energy and intuition. Remember as well, chord cuttings may need to be done more than once if you are not set in your intention when performing and/or it is a very toxic chord like with a narcissist.

How to perform:

Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, take some deep breaths in and set your sacred container by calling all your energy back to you.

Once, you feel your energy is whole, clean, and stable start to envision a chord of energy between you and the person you wish to cut your energetic chord with. If you need to envision a color; I like to use black, grey, or silver.

Once, you can see the chord, next envision whatever tools you would like to use to cut this chord. You can even chose to envision fire and burn the chord instead of cutting it with a tool.

Once, you have picked the way or tool you are going to use to cut/release this enegetic chord, take a few deep breaths in and state allowed

“ I (your name) release (their name) from my life and I cut, release, burn, and remove this energetic chord between us. This person will no longer have access to me in any realm and in any form. I am removed from them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spirituality. I cut and remove all energy attached to me from them. I remove all unwanted, stagnant, and stale energy that does not serve my highest purpose.”

Once, stated envision your tool and/or fire energy cutting and/or burning the energetic chord.

As it is cut take a few deep breaths in and out to experience the energetic release throughout your system.

Saturday Shattered life hex

With Saturday being a day to do some very potent protection magic why not teach someone in your life a lesson who really needs to learn one? Use this hex to shatter someone’s life using protection and mirror magic! To learn more about mirror magic you can read all about it here; https://modgepodgemystic.com/mirror-mirror-on-the-wall-whose-the-most-magical-of-them-all-a-guide-to-mirror-magic/

Return to Sender invoking Lilith

Another way we can cast protection spells is by using a mirror as a magical tool for protection. Mirrors can be used for protection and binding spells. They send unwanted deeds and energies back to their senders. Think about it like light: when a light hits a mirror, the mirror reflects the light back. The principles of protective mirror magic are similar: the mirror acts as a shield that reflects the energy back. One type of spell you can use a mirror for protection is a return to sender spell. Cast this one today also invoking Lilith for some extra potent protection today! If you need to learn more about how to work with mirrors as magical tools and mirror magic you can read my guide about it here; https://modgepodgemystic.com/mirror-mirror-on-the-wall-whose-the-most-magical-of-them-all-a-guide-to-mirror-magic/

Make some black salt as a magical tool

Today is one of the perfect days to make one of my personal favorite magical tools, that I try to always have on hand; black salt. Black salt may be a little time consuming to make and sometimes I am forgetful to make sure I have the ingredients but, I do my very best to always have a jar or two of black stored on my altar to use as needed.

Black salt is packed with purifying, cleansing and protection energy and that combination makes it so potent in protection. You can also amplify the black salt by chanting, or reciting an invocation as you ground your shells and blend the salt. You can draw sigils in it as you make it. You can also visualize your energy and intention as you make it to set a specific intention to your protection or target. For even more amplification you can charge the ingredients like your ashes under the moon light to add the intention of the phase and sign the moon is in.

How to create black salt:

  • Step 1- Crush your cleaned and dried egg shells using a mortar and pestle is the easiest
  • Step 2- Add ashes, black pepper, and sea salt and blend
  • Step 3-Transfer to a container for safe keeping.
  • optional- charge your ingredients under the moon prior. Add sigils to the container to amplify. You can also chant and recite invocation while blending to add intention

Black salt is a very powerful tool for protection, warding, banishing, cursing, and hexing. It has many uses from placing around your room or bed to ward of nightmares. Lining the threshold of your door for protection. Adding to a spell jar, or ritual for protection. However you choose to use black salt it should be a staple on your shelf and altar and below are some ways you can use this protective magical tool.

Uses for black salt:

  • You can add it to a spell jar to ward your property.
  • Add to many hexes, curses, bindings and banishing.
  • You can add it to a spell bag and place under your child’s pillow to ward of nightmares and bad dreams.
  • Sprinkle some in your shoes as protection when you leave the home.
  • Create a barrier around your front door with it.
  • add to a spell jar
  • add to a spell bag
  • line your front door with it
  • sprinkle under your bed
  • add to protection spells and rituals
  • use it to seal window seals and thresholds

Home protection and banish unwanted energy simmer pot

We need to not only protect ourselves magically but, also our homes. Our home is one of the spaces we spend the most time in. It’s where we manifest, do our spell work, and where our soul goes to rest and recharge each night. So, we need to make sure to regularly protect it after we cleanse and clear unwanted energy out. One of my go to protection magics for the home is using a simmer pot. Simmer pots are easy to do, very potent, and they leave your house smelling amazing! Use this recipe to bring protection into your home and banish any unwanted energy. If you need to learn more about how to use simmer pots you can read my blogpost in the link below! https://modgepodgemystic.com/simmer-pots-and-the-magic-behind-them/

In Latin, it’s called dies Veneris, which means “Venus’s day” and refers to the Roman goddess of love.

Friday is ruled by the planet Venus

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Friday is ruled by the planet Venus.  Venus is the second planet from the Sun, and Earth’s closest planetary neighbor. The magic of Thursday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Thursday. Thursday is the fourth day of the week in most cultures and calendars. Others view it as the fifth day of the week while in some Muslim cultures it’s the sixth day.

Most Germanic languages name this day for Thor or a God identified with him. In Iceland, Thursday is named Fimmtudagur or “fifth day” due to it’s predominately Christian population and them wanting to refrain from naming a day after a pagan god. In India, Thursday is most often named Guruvar, meaning day of the Guru, referring to Bṛhaspati, the deva-guru, or Guru of the Gods.

Thursday is ruled by the planet Jupiter

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Thursday is ruled by the planet Jupiter. The planet Jupiter, often referred to as the “King of the Planets,” is a symbol of expansion and abundance in magic and astrology. Jupiter is by far the most massive planet of the solar system and the fifth in distance from the Sun. It is one of the brightest objects shining in the night sky. In most depictions of Jupiter you will see a giant gas ball that is a tapestry of colorful stripes and spots, usually a mix of oranges, whites, and browns.

Magic and witchcraft themes

When it comes to magic and witchcraft you can certainly cast spells whenever you need them. But, if you want a little extra oomph, and when you want to amplify your results, aligning your spell casting with the correct day of the week is one way to do that. Since, Thursday is associated with Jupiter, it is the ideal day for spells focused on abundance, wealth, money, prosperity, personal growth and expansion, and success.

Thursday is a very masculine day and it is all about the practical aspects of your life. This day is all about connecting to the energy of finances, legal matters, success, wealth and fame. This day is about big energy connecting you to the actions you need to take to meet your goal. This energy is all about thriving and is one of the best days and times to work the energy of abundance, prosperity, and wealth!

Correspondences for Thursday

First, what is a correspondence? A correspondence is an item or symbol that is meant to connect you to a specific energy thru it’s representation. It is seen also as an item to respect, honor, and venerate that energy as well whether it be a deity, an archetype energy, the zodiac energy the moon is currently in or a day of the week like, Thursday. I will give you some ideas below for you to use. Remember to follow your intuition with the correspondences you choose to work with and that you can always use any that correspond that calls to you for the energies of the day.

  • Element- earth
  • planet-Jupiter
  • Chakra- heart chakra ( most teachers) I also work with my root chakra on this day
  • Gender- Masculine
  • colors- deep blue, purple, green
  • Herbs/flowers-  Allspice, Angelica, Bayberry, Basil, Bay Leaves, Bergamot, Cedar, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Honeysuckle, Irish Moss, Jasmine, Melissa, Mint, Nutmeg, Orange, Patchouli, Myrrh, Sandalwood, Frankincense, clover, oregano, cloves, musk
  • Stones/crystals- sugilite, Lapis Lazuli, Lepidolite, Green Aventurine, Carnelian, sunstone, pyrite, amethyst, malachite, clear quartz, citrine, tiger’s eye, aquamarine, alexandrite, turquoise
  • Deities- Thor, Jupiter, Juno, zeus , Lakshmi, Veles, Rosmerta, Caisen, Abundantia, Plutus, Aje, Mercury, Fortuna, Kubera, vishnu
  • Zodiac: Pisces and Sagittarius

Ways to work with the energy of Thursday

We’ve talked a lot about all the different themes connected to the magic and energy Thursday has and gives us access to work with. So, how can you specifically connect to those energies and perform magic aligned with it? In your everyday life you can make sure your affirmations, intentions, and manifestations set today align with the energies of abundance, wealth, fame, success, money matters, your career, personal growth and expansion.

Below you will find some ideas for spells, rituals, and magical workings you can do to align with Thursday as well. Use the magic of this day to help you connect to your relationship with money, abundance, and your success. Don’t forget to check out my Pinterest page and Facebook page as well for more spell ideas every week! And don’t forget to hop on over to my extensive guide all about abundance here; to get ideas as well! I have a lot of reels and videos for Thursday to check out! It is the day I probably have made the most for!

Work with and balance your Root chakra

Like, I hinted at in the correspondences section, I know a lot of teachers tell us to work with our heart chakra on Thursday, I believe simply because of the color correspondence with this day. But, I prefer to work with my root chakra today. Your root chakra is tied for the most important chakra in my opinion. This chakra is all about your stability, security, and your needs being met. Which is exactly what the energy of abundance does for us. It allows us to have our needs met and more. It allows us to have security in our lives in the society we find ourselves in. If our root chakra is blocked, or full of stale and stagnant energy we are going to have a very hard time connecting to the energy of abundance and believing we will be secure and have all that we need to survive. So, before you cast any abundance spells today, refresh your prosperity bowl, or do any manifestation work around money first make sure your root chakra is clean, clear, and balanced.

Thursday Candle spell to get a job

Remember, Thursday is ruled by the planet Jupiter which makes it a day of big, expansive, abundant energy. This makes it an ideal day to ask for some magical assistance in changing up our careers and getting a new job. Whether you are unemployed, or just looking for a career change try this simple candle spell with some green color magic today and watch that new job become yours! This is an extra great spell to do if you have an interview coming up already on your calendar.

How to perform:

Get yourself into sacred container. Visualize the job you wish to get. What the title is, where it is, and what it feels like getting it. As you do this carve the name of the job into the candle or a symbol to represent it. Once done Light the candle and recite. “Candle of green, energy of abundance and money do this deed for me. Bring this job with it’s money flow to me.” Let the candle burn until it goes out on it’s own. Than come back each day and light it until the job is yours!

Money spell bag

One spell you can do today to align with Jupiter; is to create a spell bag to call money into your life. First, what is a spell bag? Put simply, a spell bag is a bag of ingredients put together for a specific magical purpose. These charms are easy to make and are effective for those who have clear intentions. You can make spell bags for any purpose you would like but, one of my favorite purposes is for abundance, good fortune, and good luck.

It is common to see similar practices across many cultures like in Japan with Omamori (御守/お守り). Which are Japanese amulets commonly sold at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, dedicated to particular Shinto kami as well as Buddhist figures, and are said to provide various forms of luck. We also see this practice as a very popular and common part of celebrating the Chinese new year with the giving of Lai-see envelopes , good luck money wrapped in little red envelopes..

How to create one on your own is pretty simple and you have countless options for what you can do. Some things to consider, the color of the clothe pouch you use, what you put into it, and when you create it. (like today) For added enhancement you can charge your items under the new or full moon prior to putting them in. You can also write words, intentions, or sigils on your herbs before you add them to your bad. As you create your bag make sure you are feeding it with your intention through either mantras, invocations, spells, or visualization to activate your good luck and money spell bag. You can keep them on you, in your car, in your purse, on your abundance altar, under your bed or anywhere your intuition leads you. Remember – money IS energy. Keep that in mind…it IS obtainable and there is plenty for everyone! And then some! Below is listed some common things used to make Good fortune and money spell bags for you to make yours today!

coins
rice
eggshells
crystals
dried herbs
written intentions
Sigils
orange peels
Keys
Images of money and wealth
Cinnamon sticks
Paper bills

Money doubling spell

Remember the energy of Jupiter is all about thriving and is one of the best days and times to work the energy of abundance, prosperity, and wealth! Try this simple money doubling spell below today!
The last time I did it, it doubled my money down to the penny and this one is simple and easy to do!

Abundance and Prosperity bowl

It’s no secret that money is the way we survive. It buys everything. Maybe you find yourself in a tight spot and you need to pay the bills. Make an abundance AKA money bowl! This practice/spell would be the first thing I would advise you to do and the first thing I would do myself. I’d refresh a current one I have set up, add another one, or simply create a brand new one. And today is the day to do all of this!

First, what is a money bowl? A money bowl is what is sounds like – a bowl that’s used to magically attract prosperity. I like to say it’s sort of like a money jar but open and easier to feed with further ingredients and intentions. It is likely inspired by or stemming from the Feng Shui prosperity bowl or other folk magics method used in many cultures worldwide.

Money bowls can be placed in the home OR in the workplace as a magical magnet for money. I suggest using a green or clear bowl, but I’ve also seen people use gold and silver bowls since money and prosperity are linked to gold and silver too. You can add any correspondences for abundance, money and wealth you want to the bowl. I always make sure to be centered in gratitude and abundance when I add my items. For added amplification and abundance I suggest keeping your bowl in your office, place of business or where you like to get your work done.

My favorite method with these is keeping one near my front door to bring abundance in near my threshold to my home. Than every time I return back to my home any loss change and bills left in my wallet gets added to the bowl to increase the energy and my abundance I receive. Below is a list of common things used in money bowls.

  • A bowl
  • Coins
  • Paper bills
  • Written sigils
  • Rice
  • Candles
  • Written Intention
  • Bay leaves
  • Cinnamon
  • Basil
  • A mirror
  • Green Aventurine
  • Citrine
  • Clear Quartz
  • Keys
  • Gold & Green Glitter
  • Seeds

The magic of Wednesday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Wednesday. Wednesday is the third day of the week in most cultures and calendars. Others view it as the fourth day of the week while in some Muslim cultures it’s the fifth day.

The word Wednesday comes from the Old English Wēdnesdæg, which literally means “Woden’s day”. Woden was the name of the chief god of the Germanic people in ancient northern Europe, who are now usually referred to as Odin. Wednesday is also sometimes called “hump day” because it’s in the middle of the work week. This term originated around 1965 and implies that once Wednesday is over, the weekend is in sight

Wednesday is ruled by the planet Mercury

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Wednesday is ruled by the planet mercury. Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system and the closest to the sun. Mercury is named after the swift Roman god because it moves very quickly around the sun. In most depictions the planet, appears as a light gray color with some brownish-red streaks. Mercury is the planet that rules communication. All forms of communication from thought, speech, writing, networking, looking for information, divination, and communication thru art. Not only does it rule communication but, its very quick in it’s thinking as well and how it affects us. Mercury is also a unique planet and energy for us to connect to, as it is one of only two gender neutral planets in the solar system.

Cast a spell for improved communication and clarity of thought today for a much more focused mind the rest of the week. Other spells you can do today would be to Boost memory and mental clarity and to assist with aiding in study and focused tasks.

This day also can be great to use for luck and good fortune, specifically for a business, You can also cast spells for travel and wisdom. This day is the perfect day to network, to advertise for your business and to start working on some new ideas you want to get out into the world. If you love to study, write, and read today is the day to hunker down and get it all done! This day is the perfect day to look at how you present communication and how you receive it. Today is a day to reflect and take a deep inner look and really think about if you are a good listener to those in your life.

Use this spell to help increase focus and clarity and allow knowledge to flow to you and be absorbed today!
What you will need: peppermint leaves, lavender, eucalyptus, yellow candle, and blue candle

By the power of the universe and the magic within me let my mind be clear and free.
Let my focus be sharp and all distractions fade away. Let the knowledge I seek flow to me with ease
amen aho so mote it be”

Work with and balance your throat chakra

Like stated many times above Wednesday is a day steeped in the energy of communication. How do we communicate? Where in our energy system do we get the ability to speak? The throat chakra! This makes Wednesday the best day to work with and balance your throat chakra. But, first what is your throat chakra.

Your throat chakra is located over your throat in the middle of your neck. It’s blue in color and governs how you speak to others and how you speak of yourself. Communication is the key aspect of the throat chakra and relates to ALL forms of communication including writing and music. It’s how you express (or don’t) express your truth. If your throat chakra is functioning well, you communicate your feelings and needs with others in a healthy manner AND express your true self.

The Vishuddha, or throat chakra, gives voice to the heart chakra and controls our ability to communicate our personal power. When it’s functioning at full capacity, it allows us to express ourselves truly and clearly. Someone with a blocked throat chakra will feel like they have trouble finding the words to say how they truly feel.

The Magic of Tuesday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Tuesday. Tuesday is the second day of the week in most cultures and calendars. Others view it as the third day of the week while in some Muslim cultures it’s the fourth day.

The word “Tuesday” comes from the Old English word tīwesdæg, which literally means “day of Tiw”. Tiw was the name of a Germanic war god that the ancient northern Europeans worshiped. The word “Tuesday” may also have come from the Latin phrase dies Marti, which means “day of Mars”. In Old English, the Roman god Mars was replaced by Tiw, the Anglo-Saxon war god.

Tuesday is ruled by the planet Mars

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Tuesday is ruled by Mars. Mars is located directly next to Earth and in most depictions it is shown as being a reddish orange color. Within the solar system Mars purpose is to control and counter Venus which makes it a very masculine planet and energy. While the sun is the paternal side of the divine masculine, mars is the powerful, very virile, and aggressive side of the divine masculine.

The Unique energy of the planet mars is oozing with passion, strength, and a will to fight. Mars is associated with courage, physical energy, protection, conflict resolution, passion, power, strength, war, and assertiveness. Mars is the planet to help you prepare for any uncomfortable situation you may find yourself in.

Magic and Witchcraft themes

When it comes to magic and witchcraft you can certainly cast spells whenever you need them. But, if you want a little extra oomph, and when you want to amplify your results, aligning your spell casting with the correct day of the week is one way to do that. Since, Tuesday is associated with Mars, it is the ideal day for spells of courage, strength, protection, and assertiveness. To empower courage and confidence by envisioning yourself as strong and assertive. It is the day to ignite your inner fire, gather your strength you didn’t know you had, and call on your courage to help you face any challenge or advisory.

Tuesday is a unique day in magic as you can really cast spells to have success in all areas of your life. I would caution with doing love spells today though, as Mars can be a little aggressive with its energy. Which can led to some unwanted results like obsession. I do recommend using the passion, and fire of Mars for sex magic tonight though. It can really heat up the pleasure in the bedroom.

Correspondences for Tuesday

First, what is a correspondence? A correspondence is an item or symbol that is meant to connect you to a specific energy thru it’s representation. It is seen also as an item to respect, honor, and venerate that energy as well whether it be a deity, an archetype energy, the zodiac energy the moon is currently in or a day of the week like, Tuesday. I will give you some ideas below for you to use. Remember to follow your intuition with the correspondences you choose to work with and that you can always use any that correspond that calls to you for the energies of the day.

  • Element- Fire
  • planet-mars
  • Chakra- sacral chakra
  • Gender- Masculine
  • colors- red, black, silver
  • Herbs/flowers-rose, nettle, thistle, cactus, basil, rue, chickweed, coriander, thyme, tarragon, holly
  • Stones/crystals- ruby, garnet, bloodstone, carnelian, red jasper, moldavite, sapphire, hematite, rhodonite,
  • Deities- Tyr, Ares, Mars, the morrigan, horus, kali, Diana, danu, Eris, Tiwaz, Lilith

Ways to work with the energy of Tuesday

We’ve talked a lot about all the different themes connected to the magic and energy Tuesday has and gives us access to work with. So, how can you specifically connect to those energies and perform magic aligned with it? In your everyday life you can make sure your affirmations, intentions, and manifestations set today align with the energies of courage, strength, protection, conflict resolution, overcoming obstacles, assertiveness, sexual pleasure, the divine masculine, and Mars. Don’t forget you can focus on success in all areas of your life except love.

In some practices like wicca many witches will caution you from casting on Tuesday at all, as they see it to be too aggressive of an energy they are willing to work with. I myself don’t agree with this and cast often on Tuesday. I do recommend to make sure you are cleansing the Monday prior and adding a little extra protection to any casting and rituals you do on a Tuesday to make sure you can direct the brute force of this days energy.

Below you will find some ideas for spells, rituals, and magical workings you can do to align with Tuesday as well. Use the magic of this day to help you connect to your emotions, intuition, psyche, and our deepest shadows. Don’t forget to check out my Pinterest page and Facebook page as well for more spell ideas every week! I have a lot of reels and videos for Tuesday to check out!

The Magic of Monday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. Next up, we are going to talk about the energy and magic you can align with on Monday. For many Monday is the first day of their work week, and a day they dread feeling they are forced back into being productive. But, Monday is one of my favorite days when it comes to energy and magic we can align with, as it’s the day we really have the ability to go deep within ourselves and connect to our emotions, intuition, and psyche.

Monday is ruled by the moon

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and Monday is ruled by the moon. The powers of the moon are vast and varied across cultures and the earth. They range from being used for healing, love, prosperity, protection, fertility, death, rebirth, and more. This connection makes it the perfect day to connect to our intuition, our emotions, and our psyche.

With this day being connected to the moon it is also deeply connected to your divine feminine energy in most cultures and practices. Which makes it a great day to perform spells and workings associated with the divine feminine including shadow work and womb healing. Monday is also connected to the many lunar deities across the earth, cultures, and times. Some deities you can work with to connect to the magic of Monday and the Moon are ;Thoth, the man on the moon, Sin and more. Monday is the best day to perform magic that has to do with your dreams, emotional healing, fertility, spirit work, enhancing your intuition, nurturing, matters of the home and family, and cleansing. Some of the most potent spell workings to do today are; performing an emotional healing spell to achieve emotional balance and inner peace. Enhance your intuition by focusing on receiving insights and guidance from your guides. Develop your psychic abilities with spells aimed at expanding and sharpening your psychic senses. Perform cleansing spells to remove negativity, and dream recall spells to help make dreams vivid and memorable.

The Magic of Sunday; Amplify your spells with the energy of the day

Every day of the week has it’s own magic and energy you can harness to influence your life and magical practices and in this blog series we are going to talk about them all. First, we are going to start with the energy and magic you can align with on Sunday. For many, Sunday sets the tone for the work week that starts tomorrow. It’s a day full of energy and vitality, that can be all about prepping and planning for the week ahead. While also being a day to reflect on who we are, call on our inner strengths, and rest our energetic batteries.

Sunday for some, like many Americans is the first day of the week while for most other cultures and calendars it is the last day of the week. To Christians Sunday is considered their holy day, and the day Jesus was resurrected. In 321 Emperor Constantine even declared Sunday Rome’s official day of rest.

Sunday is ruled by the Sun

For pagans and witches, every single day of the week is ruled by a planet and you guessed it, Sunday is ruled by the planet it is named after; the sun. The sun is the vital life energy. It is the representation and connection to your ego, identity and the dominate traits of your personality both your strengths and your weaknesses. Due to this Sunday becomes the perfect day to focus on who you truly are and harnessing the vital energy of life to actively shape your life to be the brightest shining success it can be.

With Sunday being ruled by the Sun it makes it a day also connected to the many solar deities across the earth, cultures, and times. In many cultures the sun is viewed as masculine energy which makes it a great day to perform spells and workings associated with the divine masculine including shadow work. Some deities you can work with to connect to the magic of Sunday and the sun are; Apollo, Sol, Inti, Helios, Ra and more. You also have a handful of goddesses you can work with today as well like; Brigid, Amaterasu, and Aine.

Magic and Witchcraft themes

When it comes to magic and witchcraft you can certainly cast spells whenever you need them. Correspondences for Sunday

First, what is a correspondence? A correspondence is an item or symbol that is meant to connect you to a specific energy thru it’s representation. Ways to work with the energy of Sunday

We’ve talked a lot about all the different themes connected to the magic and energy Sunday has and gives us access to work with. So, how can you specifically connect to those energies and perform magic aligned with it? In your everyday life you can make sure your affirmations, intentions, and manifestations set today align with the energies of personal power, motivation, joy, purpose, prepping, planning, identity, ego, self esteem, self worth, confidence, creativity, abundance, agriculture, and the sun. Below you will find some ideas for spells, rituals, and magical workings you can do to align with Sunday as well. Use the magic of this day to help brighten your day, bring joy, build confidence, and so much more!

Work with and balance your solar plexus

Your solar plexus IMO is one of the most important chakras in your body and Sunday is one of the best days to work with it. It’s located between the bottom of the sternum and above the belly button. The solar plexus is a yellow color and connects us to the divine energy of the sun and the light. It is your energy zone that supports self esteem, courage, and your personal power. If your solar plexus is healthy, you exude confidence and tackle goals with clarity and fervor. People may see you as vivacious and lively. Below are some ideas on how you can balance your solar plexus today. To learn more about the chakra system as a whole click the link below to read my extensive guide all about energy and energy work! https://modgepodgemystic.com/working-with-the-basics-of-life-and-magic-energy/

Perform Solar magic

One of the most potent types of magic and spells you can perform on a Sunday is solar magic. Solar magic harnesses the power of the sun to bring about positive change in one’s life. This could involve anything from casting spells, or making sun water, to meditating in the rays of the sun and focusing on your desired outcome. Whether asking for protection or blessings, developing confidence, getting grounded and centered in your self image and who you are, or encouraging growth; solar magic can bring peace, vitality, strength, movement, and harmony into your life.

The sun’s potent energy is known to amplify the effects of magical workings, strengthening the intentions set during rituals and spells. Witches and Pagans may utilize the sun’s energy to increase the effectiveness of a wide range of spells, from love and protection rituals to manifestation and abundance incantations. The infusion of the sun’s energy into these workings can lead to more powerful and impactful results.

The Sun is the energy we can connect to for joy, happiness, playfulness, and the things that truly make our souls sing with happiness, contentment, and allow us to feel as if we are thriving. The sun is seen as the archetypal joyful, and healing energy of the solar system.
