As the flowers bloom and the warmth of May envelops us, Mother’s Day on May 11th invites us to honor the nurturing, life-giving essence of motherhood—both earthly and divine. During this sacred time, many witches and pagans connect with mother goddesses who embody the energies of creation, compassion, and unconditional love. For many, Mother’s Day is a deeply grounding celebration, where the divine feminine shines as the heartbeat of all life. We feel called to step into the embrace of these goddesses, to reflect on the maternal bonds that shape us, and to weave magic that honors the cycles of nurturing and growth. In this season, we may be drawn to the healing power of love, the strength of protection, and the wisdom of creation, as we listen to the whispers of the ancestors and plant seeds of gratitude in the fertile soil of May. During this time, several mother goddesses take center stage, offering an intimate connection to their nurturing energies. Mother’s Day, celebrated in May, is a pivotal time in pagan culture, filled with love, reflection, renewal, and abundance. Let’s walk through a sacred space of maternal magic, where hearts bloom and spirits connect, to pause, reflect, and honor the divine mothers as we meet some of these goddesses together in this post today.
The Divine Feminine: What It Means and Why We Work with It
The Divine Feminine is the sacred, universal energy that embodies nurturing, intuition, creation, and interconnectedness. It is the life-giving force present in all beings, often symbolized by the moon, the earth, and the ocean—elements that flow, sustain, and transform. In spiritual practices, the Divine Feminine represents qualities like compassion, empathy, receptivity, and the power to birth new ideas, relationships, and life itself. It is the counterpart to the Divine Masculine, and together, they create balance, much like the cycles of nature we honor in pagan traditions. For me, the Divine Feminine is the heartbeat of the universe, the motherly embrace that holds us through every season, guiding us to trust our intuition and honor our emotions.
We work with the Divine Feminine to reconnect with our inner wisdom, heal ancestral wounds, and cultivate self-love. By invoking this energy, we align with the cycles of creation and destruction, learning to nurture ourselves and others while embracing our intuitive power. On Mother’s Day, the Divine Feminine takes center stage, as we honor the mothers in our lives and the goddess energy that flows through them. Working with the Divine Feminine helps us tap into our capacity for unconditional love, to heal familial bonds, and to create a world where nurturing and compassion thrive. It’s a reminder that every act of care—whether for ourselves, our loved ones, or the earth—is a sacred offering to the Divine Feminine, aligning us with the eternal cycle of life.
Demeter – Greek Goddess
Demeter, the Greek goddess of agriculture, fertility, and the harvest, is a quintessential mother goddess, embodying the nurturing essence of the earth. Celebrated in the Eleusinian Mysteries, Demeter is a deity of sustenance and unconditional love, often depicted holding sheaves of wheat or a cornucopia. On Mother’s Day, her energy invites us to honor the protective, life-giving love of mothers, to nurture our own growth, and to connect with the earth’s abundance. In Taurus season, Demeter’s grounding presence encourages us to cultivate stability through care, as we’ve explored with deities like Persephone in our recent guides here. On Mother’s Day, her energy encourages us to tap into our inner magic, to heal familial wounds, and to protect those we love. In Taurus season, Isis aligns with grounding themes of stability, urging us to nurture with resilience.

Yemaya, the Yoruba goddess of the ocean, motherhood, and fertility, is a nurturing deity of the African diaspora, often called the mother of all life. Associated with the sea, Yemaya is depicted as a majestic woman in flowing blue and white robes, her arms outstretched like waves. She protects mothers and children, offering comfort and emotional healing, and her energy is deeply tied to the moon’s cycles. On Mother’s Day, Yemaya invites us to connect with the ocean’s nurturing depths, to cleanse emotional wounds, and to honor the universal mother within. In Taurus season, her watery energy complements the grounding earth, encouraging emotional stability. Are you craving to dive deeper with Yemaya and want a spell to work with her maternal embrace? In mythology, Gaia birthed the Titans, the sky, and the sea, nurturing all beings with her boundless love. Often depicted as a lush, earthy figure emerging from the soil, Gaia represents the interconnectedness of life. On Mother’s Day, her energy calls us to honor the earth as our universal mother, to nurture our environment, and to cultivate gratitude for her gifts. In Taurus season, Gaia’s grounding energy aligns perfectly, encouraging us to plant seeds of care.
Frigg – Norse Goddess
Frigg, the Norse goddess of motherhood, marriage, and wisdom, is a loving mother goddess who rules over Asgard as Odin’s wife. Known for her foresight and protective nature, Frigg is the mother of Baldr, whose death she mourned deeply, showcasing her maternal devotion. Often depicted with a spinning wheel, Frigg weaves the fates of humanity, embodying wisdom and care. On Mother’s Day, her energy encourages us to honor the protective love of mothers, to seek wisdom in our nurturing roles, and to strengthen familial bonds.

Known as the “Lady of the Sycamore” and mother of the pharaohs, Hathor is often depicted with cow horns and a sun disk, symbolizing fertility and protection. She comforts the dead and celebrates life with her music and dance, embodying maternal joy and healing. On Mother’s Day, Hathor invites us to embrace love, creativity, and celebration, honoring the joy mothers bring to our lives.
Parvati – Hindu Goddess
Parvati, the Hindu goddess of love, fertility, and devotion, is a devoted mother goddess and wife of Shiva, mother to Ganesha and Kartikeya. Known for her strength and nurturing nature, Parvati embodies the power of feminine resilience, transforming from a gentle maiden into the fierce Durga when needed. Often depicted with a serene smile and adorned with jewelry, Parvati represents the balance of love and protection. On Mother’s Day, her energy encourages us to honor the strength and devotion of mothers, to nurture our families with love, and to find inner peace.
Danu – Celtic Goddess
Danu, the Celtic goddess of the earth, rivers, and fertility, is a primordial mother goddess revered as the ancestor of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Though her myths are sparse, she is associated with the life-giving waters and the land’s abundance, often depicted as a flowing, earthy figure emerging from a river. Danu nurtures all life, offering wisdom and protection to her children. On Mother’s Day, her energy calls us to honor the earth and rivers as maternal sources, to nurture our connection to nature, and to seek ancestral wisdom.

This weekend, as the cosmic energy had aligned with Saturn’s steadfast power on Saturday, I found myself reflecting on the magic I’ve woven to protect my own child—especially poignant as we celebrated his 4th birthday. As witches, we work with unseen forces and divine beings, making the energetic protection of our children not just important, but essential. Children are our most precious seeds, their spirits tender and open, vulnerable to the chaotic energies that swirl around us—whether from the astral plane, the collective turmoil of a world facing political storms, or the psychic currents we navigate as magical beings. In a reality where we dance with spirits and energies, shielding them from harm—physical, emotional, or spiritual—becomes a sacred duty. Saturn, the planet of structure, boundaries, and enduring protection, offers a potent ally on its ruling day, Saturday. This energy fortifies our spells, creating a shield of resilience and safety for our little ones, grounding their bright spirits in a world that can feel so unsteady. Join me as we tap into this power to cast protective magic, honoring their innocence and our craft with a mother’s fierce love.
Why Protect Our Children Magically and Energetically?
As witches, we dance with energies and entities that others may not perceive—spirits, deities, and the unseen currents of the universe. Our children, born into this environment inherit a sensitivity to these forces—making them susceptible. Negative energies, psychic attacks, or even the weight of collective turmoil—like the political climate with policies such as Trump’s $5,000 baby bonus threatening women’s lives—can cling to their bright spirits, dimming their light. Protecting them energetically ensures their growth remains untainted, allowing their natural magic to flourish in a world that can be harsh. Physically, a magical shield can guard against accidents or harm, creating a subtle barrier that nudges danger away. Emotionally, it fosters confidence and peace, helping them feel safe to express their unique souls—like my son, who navigates sensory overload with such grace. Spiritually, it wards off entities or influences that might seek to disrupt their path, keeping their connection to the divine clear and strong. On this special birthday weekend, harnessing Saturn’s grounding energy feels like a gift of love, a magical embrace to guide my child—and yours—through life’s storms, ensuring they can grow into the powerful, kind beings they’re meant to be.
Saturn’s Protective Power on Saturday
Saturn, the taskmaster of the cosmos, governs discipline, structure, and enduring protection, its energy resonating like the deep hum of the earth itself. On Saturdays, its influence peaks, offering a perfect window to cast spells that build strong, unyielding boundaries. This planet’s power is like a fortress, steady and unshakable, ideal for safeguarding our children’s vulnerable souls against the chaos of the world—whether it’s the energetic residue of systemic injustice or the unseen threats that lurk in the astral realm. Saturn’s energy teaches us the magic of limits, helping us define sacred spaces where our little ones can thrive, free from harm. Combined with our intent as witches, Saturn’s power amplifies our magic, creating layers of defense that resonate with the earth’s deep stability, rooting our spells in a foundation that endures. This weekend, as we celebrated new beginnings—my son’s birthday a radiant spark in our lives —inspires us to channel this energy to weave protection into their lives, crafting a shield that holds steady through every storm.
6 Spells to Protect Our Children with Saturn’s Energy
Here are six spells to harness Saturn’s protective might, tailored for our children’s safety. Each spell draws on a specific type of magic, amplified by Saturn’s grounding energy, to create a layered shield of love and resilience. Gather your tools with reverence, and infuse each with your love and intent.
Protection Poppet from a Favorite Stuffed Animal
– Type of Magic: Sympathetic magic, which uses a physical representation (the poppet) to channel energy directly to the person it represents.
– Why It Works Well: Sympathetic magic creates a direct energetic link between the poppet and your child, making it a powerful vessel for protection. The stuffed animal, already imbued with their love and energy, becomes a personal talisman, amplifying the spell’s potency. Saturn’s grounding influence ensures the poppet acts as a stable anchor, absorbing and deflecting negative energies with its steady presence.
– How: Choose their favorite stuffed animal, one they cuddle with often, to deepen the energetic connection. Open a small seam and stuff it with protective herbs (e.g., rosemary for warding, black pepper for banishing) and a lock of their hair to bind the poppet to them. Sew it back with black thread, Saturn’s color of protection, chanting, “By Saturn’s might, protect [child’s name] day and night.”
Place a small obsidian stone inside for grounding, its dark energy resonating with Saturn to root the spell in stability. Keep it near their bed or in their arms, where its protective magic can work continuously.
2. Talisman of Protection with Sigils on Jewelry
– Type of Magic: Talismanic magic, which infuses an object with protective energy to be carried or worn for constant safeguarding.
– Why It Works Well: Talismanic magic creates a portable shield, ensuring your child is protected wherever they go. The sigil, a concentrated symbol of your intent, channels Saturn’s boundary-setting energy into the jewelry, creating a continuous barrier against harm. Saturn’s disciplined nature ensures the talisman remains charged with steady, enduring protection, making it a reliable guardian for your child’s energy.
– How: Select a piece of jewelry they love (e.g., a necklace or bracelet), something they’ll wear daily to keep the protection close. Carve or draw a protection sigil (e.g., a circle with a cross, symbolizing boundaries) using a consecrated marker or engraving tool. Anoint it with Saturn oil (made with myrrh for protection and patchouli for grounding), while saying, “Saturn, guard [child’s name] with strength unbound.”
Have them wear it daily, recharging it under the Saturday moon by placing it on a windowsill to soak in lunar and Saturnian energy, ensuring its protective power remains strong.
3. Anti-Nightmare and Dream World Attack Satchel
– Type of Magic: Dream magic, which focuses on protecting the dream realm and influencing the subconscious.
– Why It Works Well: Dream magic targets the astral plane, where children’s open spirits are most vulnerable during sleep. Nightmares and astral intrusions can disrupt their rest and energy, but this satchel creates a protective barrier in the dream world. Saturn’s stabilizing force anchors the satchel’s energy, ensuring it holds strong against chaotic dream entities, while its disciplined nature helps maintain a peaceful sleep environment.
– How: Fill a small black or purple bag—colors of protection and intuition—with amethyst for dream clarity, lavender for peace, and bay leaves for warding off evil. Tie it with a black ribbon, Saturn’s hue, chanting, “Saturn’s shield, banish the night, keep [child’s name] safe in dreamlight.”
Place it under their pillow or hang it above their bed, where its energy can envelop them as they sleep. Renew the herbs monthly on a Saturday, refreshing the spell under Saturn’s watchful gaze to keep the dream protection potent.
4. Saturn’s Boundary Salt Circle
– Type of Magic: Barrier magic, which creates physical and energetic boundaries to block harmful influences.
– Why It Works Well: Barrier magic uses the physical act of casting a circle to create a metaphysical shield, perfectly aligning with Saturn’s love of structure and limits. Salt is a traditional purifier, and when combined with charcoal, it absorbs negativity, creating a double-layered defense. Saturn’s energy strengthens the circle’s boundaries, making it an impenetrable fortress that ensures no harm can cross, providing a safe space for your child to grow and play.
– How: Mix sea salt with a pinch of powdered charcoal, enhancing its protective and absorbing qualities. On a Saturday, cast a circle around your child’s bed or play area, sprinkling the salt mixture while saying, “By Saturn’s will, no harm shall pass, [child’s name] is safe at last.”
Visualize a dark, protective dome rising from the salt, shimmering with Saturn’s steady energy. Sweep it away after a week, as the energy may become stagnant, and renew the circle as needed on future Saturdays to maintain its protective power.
5. Protective Candle Spell
– Type of Magic: Fire magic, which uses the transformative power of fire to channel intent and create a protective ward.
– Why It Works Well: Fire magic harnesses the element of fire to burn away negativity and focus your intent, making it a potent tool for protection. The candle acts as a beacon, radiating Saturn’s disciplined energy outward to form a protective ward around your child. Saturn’s influence ensures the flame’s energy remains steady and focused, creating a long-lasting shield that burns away harm while fostering a safe, warm environment for your child.
– How: Use a black or deep blue candle, colors that resonate with Saturn’s protective energy. Carve their initials and a protective rune (e.g., Algiz, for defense) into the wax, embedding your intent. Dress the candle with olive oil for consecration and a sprinkle of crushed sage for purification, then light it on a Saturday, saying, “Saturn, encircle [child’s name] with your might, guard them through day and night.”
Let it burn safely for an hour, visualizing a protective light surrounding them. Repeat weekly on Saturdays, each lighting reinforcing the ward’s strength. Do you want to ignite your passion of magic with candles more? Join The Mystic Mysteries to get access to my downloadable grimoire pages today!
6. Mirror Ward Spell
– Type of Magic: Reflective magic, which uses mirrors to deflect and return negative energy to its source.
– Why It Works Well: Reflective magic leverages the mirror’s ability to bounce back harmful energies, making it an effective tool for spiritual protection. Saturn’s energy strengthens this deflection, creating a powerful barrier that turns away psychic attacks or negative influences. The mirror acts as a sentinel, its reflective surface infused with Saturn’s disciplined power, ensuring that any harm directed at your child is sent back, leaving their spirit untouched and safe.
– How: Place a small mirror under their mattress or in their room, facing outward to reflect negativity away. Anoint its edges with Saturn oil (myrrh and patchouli), chanting, “Saturn’s gaze turns harm away, [child’s name] is safe each night and day.”
Visualize reflected light forming a shimmering shield around them, deflecting any harm. Recharge the mirror every Saturday by breathing onto its surface, your breath cleansing and renewing its protective energy under Saturn’s influence.
Reflection Prompts
After casting, journal your experience to deepen your connection to this magic:
– How did Saturn’s energy feel as you wove the spell? Did it feel like a steady hand guiding you?
– What emotions surfaced while protecting your child? Did you feel fear, love, or a fierce determination?
– Did you sense any shifts in their energy or your own after the spell? Perhaps a lightness in their laughter or a calm in your heart?
– How can you maintain this protective bond beyond this weekend? What daily rituals can you weave into your routine?
Final Thoughts
As we close this sacred work, I’m filled with gratitude for the protective magic we’ve woven together this weekend, under Saturn’s watchful gaze. Each spell, infused with love and intent, is a testament to the fierce, nurturing power of a witch’s heart—a power that blooms brightest when we shield our children. My son, turning 4 this past weekend, is my greatest teacher, his light guiding me to heal, to fight, and to create a world where he can thrive. These spells are more than rituals; they’re promises—to our children, to ourselves, and to the universe—that we will stand as guardians of their magic, their innocence, and their growth. Let’s carry this protective energy forward, weaving safety and love into every moment. May Saturn’s strength continue to fortify your path, my witchy kin, as we nurture the precious seeds in our care.

As the frost melts, the air warms, and the earth bursts into vibrant life, the festivals like Ostara, Beltane, and the spring equinox beckon us into an embrace of renewal, growth, and transformation. During these celebrations, many witches and pagans work with deities that embody the energies of fertility, rebirth, and the blossoming of new beginnings. I certainly do! For me, spring is a deeply balanced season, where the divine feminine and masculine dance together in harmony. I feel called to step out of the womb of Mother Earth and into her blooming fields, where the light goddess and the horned god invite me to celebrate life, passion, and the cycles of nature. In this season, I’m drawn to the healing clarity of sunlight, the empowerment of growth, and the magic of creation, as I listen to the whispers of the past and plant seeds for the future in the fertile soil of spring. During this time, several deities take center stage, especially those with festivals or sacred days in spring, offering an intimate connection to their vibrant energies. Spring, spanning March, April, and May, is a pivotal time in pagan culture, filled with magic, fertility, renewal, and abundance. Let’s take a walk through the spring landscape, where flowers bloom and rivers flow, to pause, reflect, and connect with the cyclical rhythm of nature as we meet some of these deities together in this post today.
Eostre (Ostara) – Germanic Goddess
Eostre, often called Ostara, is a Germanic goddess of spring, dawn, and new beginnings, whose name is the root of the word “Easter.” She’s a deity of fertility and renewal, often depicted as a radiant maiden surrounded by blooming flowers, hares, and eggs—symbols of life and rebirth. In Germanic lore, Eostre is said to transform a bird into a hare to save its life, and that hare laid the first colored eggs in her honor, a tale that echoes in modern Easter traditions. Her festival, Ostara, marks the spring equinox, a time of balance when day and night are equal, and the earth awakens from winter’s slumber. Eostre’s energy is soft yet powerful, inviting us to embrace new starts, plant seeds of intention, and celebrate the return of light. In Taurus season, her presence encourages us to ground our new beginnings in the earth, finding stability in growth, as we’ve been exploring with deities like Arianrhod in our recent Divine Draw. She’s a reminder of the beauty in renewal and the magic of life’s cycles. Do you want to dive deeper into the holiday that is named after her? Read my guide all about it here!
Cernunnos – Celtic God
Cernunnos, the Celtic Horned God, is a deity of nature, fertility, animals, and the wild, often depicted with antlers, seated cross-legged, surrounded by beasts like stags and serpents. Known from the Gundestrup Cauldron, a 1st-century artifact, Cernunnos is the lord of the wild, a protector of the forest and its creatures. In spring, particularly around Beltane on May 1st, his energy surges as the masculine counterpart to the goddess, embodying passion, virility, and the life force that drives growth. As we explored in our recent Divine Tales Thursdays post, (Free Patreon sneak peak here) Cernunnos leads the Wild Hunt, ensuring the balance of nature by giving as much as we take. His antlers symbolize the renewal of life, mirroring the stag’s cycle of shedding and regrowth. In Taurus season, Cernunnos invites us to connect with the earth’s rhythms, to dance in the fires of Beltane, and to honor our primal instincts as we plant seeds for the future.
Flora – Roman Goddess
Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers, spring, and fertility, brings the vibrant energy of blooming life to this season. Celebrated during the Floralia festival from late April to early May, Flora is depicted as a maiden adorned with flowers, her presence heralding the blossoming of nature. She rules over all flowering plants, symbolizing beauty, growth, and the sensual pleasures of spring. In Roman mythology, Flora’s magic transformed nymphs into flowers, weaving their stories into the earth’s tapestry. Her energy is light and joyful, encouraging us to revel in the beauty of the season, to create art inspired by nature, and to embrace the pleasures of life. In Taurus season, Flora’s connection to sensuality and grounding aligns perfectly, urging us to indulge in the tactile joys of spring—touching petals, breathing in floral scents, and celebrating life’s abundance.
Persephone – Greek Goddess
Persephone, the Greek goddess of spring growth and the underworld queen, embodies the duality of life and death, renewal and decay. Daughter of Zeus and Demeter, Persephone was abducted by Hades and became queen of the underworld, but her return to the earth each spring marks the season of growth. Her myth, tied to the Eleusinian Mysteries, reflects the cycle of planting and harvesting, as well as the inner journey from darkness to light. In spring, Persephone emerges from the underworld, bringing with her the blooming of flowers and the renewal of the earth. Her energy is transformative, inviting us to embrace our own cycles of growth, to heal from past wounds, and to step into the light of new beginnings. In Taurus season, Persephone encourages us to ground our transformation in the earth, finding direction through nature’s cycles. Do you want to descend into the underworld or frolic in a meadow of flowers with Persephone? Don’t forget to read my guide and journey with her as my Matron deity here. Plus grab on exclusive spell working with her inside The Mystic Mysteries here!
Brigid – Celtic Goddess
Brigid, a Celtic goddess of spring, healing, poetry, and the sacred flame, takes center stage during Imbolc in early February, but her energy carries into the full bloom of spring. As we noted in your winter guide, Brigid is a triple goddess of healing waters, sacred flame, and fertile earth, often depicted with fiery hair and a sunbeam cloak. In spring, her role as a goddess of fertility and creativity shines, inspiring us to create, heal, and nurture new life. Brigid’s energy bridges the transition from winter to spring, as she takes the reins from Cailleach (mentioned in your winter guide), ushering in warmth and growth. In Taurus season, Brigid’s grounding fire encourages us to plant seeds of inspiration, to heal through creativity, and to connect with the earth’s awakening energy, aligning with the themes of renewal we’ve explored in recent posts like the Taurus New Moon guide.
Pan – Greek God
Pan, the Greek god of the wild, shepherds, and rustic music, brings a playful, primal energy to spring. Often depicted with goat horns, legs, and a flute, Pan roams the forests, dancing with nymphs and playing his panpipes. He’s a deity of fertility, nature, and the untamed spirit, embodying the wild joy of spring’s awakening. In spring, Pan’s energy surges, encouraging us to reconnect with nature, to dance in the fields, and to embrace our sensual, earthy side. His music stirs the life force within us, inspiring creativity and passion. In Taurus season, Pan’s earthy energy aligns perfectly, urging us to ground our wildness in the stability of the season, much like we’ve been doing with deities like Cernunnos in our Beltane preparations. Pan reminds us to find joy in the simple pleasures of spring—the rustle of leaves, the warmth of the sun, and the rhythm of the earth. Freyr – Norse God
Freyr, a Norse god of fertility, peace, and prosperity, is a deity of spring and summer abundance. A member of the Vanir, Freyr rules over rain, sunshine, and the growth of crops, often depicted with a golden boar, Gullinbursti, symbolizing fertility and light. In spring, Freyr’s energy brings blessings of growth, ensuring the land’s fertility and the prosperity of the harvest to come. His festival, celebrated around the spring equinox, honors the return of light and life. Freyr’s energy is warm and nurturing, inviting us to cultivate peace, abundance, and joy in our lives. In Taurus season, Freyr encourages us to ground our prosperity in the earth, to plant literal and metaphorical seeds, and to trust in the abundance that will grow, aligning with the themes of growth we’ve been exploring in our recent Elemental Energies card pull.
Vesna – Slavic Goddess
Vesna, the Slavic goddess of spring and youth, embodies the season’s vitality and renewal. Often depicted as a beautiful maiden adorned with flowers, Vesna takes over from Morena (mentioned in my winter guide) at the spring equinox, bringing warmth, light, and new life. In Slavic mythology, Vesna’s arrival marks the end of winter’s harshness, as she awakens the earth with her gentle touch. Her energy is vibrant and hopeful, encouraging us to embrace youthfulness, joy, and the promise of new beginnings. In Taurus season, Vesna’s energy aligns with the grounding growth we’ve been cultivating, urging us to celebrate the beauty of spring and to nurture our dreams with optimism.

In the beginning, there was a delicate balance of light and shadow, a dance of life and death that birthed the cycles of existence. From this primal harmony emerged Persephone, the Greek goddess of spring, queen of the underworld, and a deity of profound transformation. For over a decade, Persephone has been my matron deity, a guiding force through my own seasons of growth, loss, and rebirth. Her story isn’t the oversimplified tale of abduction so often told—it’s a saga of strength, love, and self-sovereignty, a narrative of evolution and taking your own power. Persephone teaches us to embrace our dual nature, to love fiercely, and to bloom through the darkest soil. Come join me as we walk the path between meadow and underworld to learn more about Persephone in this blog post.
Who is Persephone?
When spring blooms and the earth awakens, or when the shadows deepen and the underworld calls, you may feel a gentle yet commanding presence—Persephone, whispering your name. She is a goddess of duality, associated with spring, renewal, the underworld, death, rebirth, sovereignty, love, transformation, and the mysteries of life’s cycles. Persephone holds dominion over the blooming earth and the shadowy depths, weaving light and dark into a sacred balance. She governs the cycles of nature—growth in spring, decay in autumn—and the passage of souls between worlds, creating a rhythm that echoes through our lives. As a goddess who bridges life and death, she plays an integral role in our existence, guiding us through change and empowering us to claim our own power.
Persephone isn’t just an Olympian goddess; her origins tie her to ancient, pre-Olympian traditions, where she was revered as a chthonic deity of the earth’s fertility and the underworld’s mysteries. She’s not a passive maiden but a queen who chose her path, a symbol of evolution who transforms from Kore (the maiden) to Persephone (the dread queen). Her story resonates with those who seek to integrate their light and shadow, to evolve through challenges, and to stand in their sovereignty.
Persephone, Goddess of Spring and Underworld
Persephone is the embodiment of spring’s renewal and the underworld’s depth in Greek mythology, a formidable goddess in her own right. Her name, often interpreted as “bringer of destruction” or “she who brings light,” reflects her dual nature—both life-giving and death-embracing. As the goddess of spring, she blankets the earth in flowers, her laughter coaxing buds to bloom. As queen of the underworld, she rules alongside Hades, her throne a testament to her power over the dead. In fact, when heroes must travel to the underworld during trials , it is HER they seek permission from to complete their task. She represents the cycles of nature and the soul, embodying the seed that must descend into darkness to grow, the woman who claims her crown through transformation.
Persephone, a Deity of Evolution and Power
Persephone’s story is often reduced to the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, where Hades abducts her, and her mother, Demeter, mourns, causing the earth to wither. But this is only one version, filtered through a patriarchal lens that strips her of agency. Older myths, like those in the Orphic tradition, tell a different tale: Persephone willingly descends to the underworld, drawn to its mysteries and her destiny as queen. Some versions suggest she ate the pomegranate seeds knowingly, binding herself to Hades by choice, not trickery. In these tellings, Persephone isn’t a victim—she’s a goddess who claims her throne, balancing life and death with fierce grace.
Her marriage to Hades isn’t one of coercion but of deep, transformative love. Ancient art often depicts them side by side, equals in power, their bond a sacred partnership. Hades honors her, and Persephone brings light to his realm, softening its edges with spring’s renewal. Their love is a testament to balance—light and shadow, life and death, united in harmony. Persephone’s journey is one of evolution: from Kore, the maiden of spring, to Persephone, the dread queen. Each spring, she returns to the upper world, a symbol of rebirth, but she never abandons her throne below. She teaches us that true power comes from integrating our dualities, from embracing the dark as fertile soil for growth.
Family and Origin
Persephone is the daughter of Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, and Demeter, goddess of the harvest. Her lineage places her among the Olympians, but her role as a chthonic deity ties her to older, pre-Olympian traditions of earth and underworld worship. She’s often associated with her mother’s realm of agriculture and her father’s divine authority, but her true power lies in her own domain—the underworld, where she rules as queen.
Persephone and Hades had no children in most myths, though some traditions mention offspring like the Erinyes (Furies) or the mysterious Zagreus (Patreon exclusive post coming soon), tied to Orphic mysteries. Her most significant relationship is with Hades, her husband and partner, whose love for her is a cornerstone of her story. She’s also closely tied to her mother, Demeter, whose grief and joy shape the seasons, and to deities like Hecate, who accompanies her in the underworld, lighting her path with torches.
Myths and Legends
Persephone’s myths are varied, reflecting her complex nature. The most well-known is the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, where Hades abducts her while she gathers flowers, and Demeter’s grief causes famine until Zeus intervenes. Persephone eats pomegranate seeds—sometimes six, sometimes one—and is bound to the underworld for part of the year, returning to the upper world in spring. But this tale, written in a patriarchal era, often overlooks Persephone’s agency. Older traditions, like those in Eleusinian Mysteries, portray her descent as a willing act, a rite of passage to claim her queenship. In these versions, the pomegranate is a symbol of her choice, not coercion.
In some myths, Persephone is a fierce judge of souls, deciding fates alongside Hades. In others, she’s a compassionate guide, helping heroes like Orpheus or Psyche navigate the underworld. Her duality is evident in her festivals, like the Eleusinian Mysteries, which celebrated her return as a symbol of spiritual rebirth. Persephone’s story isn’t about loss—it’s about power, love, and evolution, a reminder that we can bloom through the darkest seasons.
Worship of Persephone in Ancient Greece
It’s funny, because in Ancient Greece, Persephone was rarely worshipped. We have very little texts in ancient history with stories of how she was worshipped. Alongside only a few temples we know of that, were underground or near caves, symbolizing her connection to the underworld. If Persephone was worshiped, most of the sources we have are her being worshipped alongside either her husband Hades or primarily her mother, Demeter. This is because springtime comes when she is returned to her mother and it was part of the festival to honor Demeter during the rituals of the Eleusinian Mysteries.
What are the Eleusinian Mysteries?
The Eleusinian Mysteries were a set of important rituals that took place in Greece annually for at least one thousand years. It’s hard for us to know how long for sure, because like in their name they were rituals shrouded in mystery. As they were apart of Greece’s worst kept secret, meant to be part of secret mystical teachings. Eventually so many were part of them almost everyone in the city of Athens knew what the teachings were. Which is why we know as much as we do about them now. The rituals happened sometime in September and commemorated the myth of Demeter and Persephone alongside the changing of the seasons. The priestesses and initiates took on a fourteen day long challenge. Involving purification rituals, sacrifices, fasting, and ending in a procession from Athens to Eleusis. The city that gave Demeter aid and shelter during her search for her daughter. We don’t know exactly what these rites were or the rituals that had to be performed. But, most scholars theorize they were an actual reenactment of the rape and capture of Persephone, followed by the agony of Demeter’s search for her. I will leave it up to you on what you think, this all depends on how they interrupted the story of her “kidnapping” and we just simply don’t know.
Today, modern pagans and witches honor her through seasonal rituals, offerings of flowers and pomegranates, and meditations on life’s cycles.
What does Persephone look like?
When spring arrives and flowers bloom, or when the underworld calls with its shadowy depths, Persephone is there. She often appears as a young woman with golden hair, wearing a crown of flowers in the upper world, her dress woven with blossoms. In the underworld, she’s a regal queen, her robes dark and shimmering, a crown of iron or bone atop her head, holding a pomegranate or a torch. For me, she appears as a figure of light and shadow, her eyes glowing with both warmth and depth, a pomegranate in one hand and a bundle of wheat in the other, symbolizing her dual realms.
Persephone and Her Relationship to Hades
Persephone’s relationship with Hades is one of mutual love and respect, not coercion. In ancient art, they’re depicted as equals, sitting side by side on their thrones, ruling the underworld together. Hades, often misunderstood as a villain, is a devoted partner who honors Persephone’s power. Their love bridges life and death, showing us that true partnership balances light and shadow. Persephone brings renewal to the underworld, while Hades offers her a realm to rule—a perfect harmony of opposites.
Persephone and Duality
As a grey witch, I always look at how a deity’s energy can help me maintain balance and reflect cosmic duality. Persephone’s dual nature as both spring maiden and underworld queen is a profound lesson in integration. She’s nurturing, bringing life to the earth, yet formidable, ruling over the dead with authority. She embodies the duality of light and dark, growth and decay, love and power. Persephone reminds us that we can hold both—blooming in our light while rooting deep into our shadows.
My story with Persephone: A Matron of Strength and Rebirth
Persephone has been my matron deity for over ten years, a guiding light through my own cycles of transformation, a mirror reflecting the many facets of my being, and a beacon of strength when I needed to reclaim my power. When I first connected with her, I was in a season of deep shadow—grieving a profound personal loss, feeling uprooted, and searching for my own sovereignty amidst a storm of emotions that left me feeling like a seedling buried too deep to ever bloom. I was also wrestling with my own complex nature, a tapestry of multiple beings woven into one soul—light and shadow, mystic and warrior, dreamer and realist. I often felt fragmented, unsure how to integrate these identities into a cohesive whole. At the same time, I was grappling with a dynamic in my life that mirrored Persephone’s own struggle: a suffocating relationship with a controlling force, much like her mother, Demeter, who clung to her daughter with an iron grip, unable to let her grow into her own power.
Persephone’s story resonated deeply with me because I saw myself in her desire to escape her mother’s overbearing love. In many myths, Demeter’s devotion to Persephone borders on obsession, keeping her sheltered as Kore, the eternal maiden, and refusing to let her explore the depths of her own destiny. I felt that same weight in my life—a force that wanted to keep me small, safe, and unchanging, even as my soul yearned to break free and evolve. I longed to step into my own power, to embrace the chaos and shadows within me, just as Persephone did when she descended to the underworld. During a meditation one night, under the dim glow of a crescent moon, I felt her presence more vividly than ever before. She appeared at a crossroads between a blooming meadow and a dark cave, her figure both radiant and shadowed, holding a pomegranate in one hand and a torch in the other. Her eyes held the weight of a thousand cycles, and her voice was a soft whisper carrying ancient wisdom: “You are the seed. Descend to grow.” That moment marked the beginning of our sacred bond, a connection that has since woven itself into the very fabric of my spiritual practice.
Through working with Persephone, I’ve learned to embrace my own darkness—not as something to fear, but as fertile soil for growth. She showed me that the shadows I feared were not my enemy but a necessary part of my evolution, a place where I could root deeply and rise stronger. More importantly, she taught me to accept the multiplicity of my nature. I am not one being but many, a constellation of identities that shift and shimmer like the seasons. Persephone, who herself embodies duality—spring maiden and underworld queen—guided me to see this as a strength, not a fracture. She whispered to me in meditations and through synchronicities, encouraging me to weave my many selves into a tapestry of power, to honor the mystic who seeks ancient wisdom, the warrior who fights for her truth, and the dreamer who dances in the light. With her guidance, I learned to stand in my fullness, embracing all that I am without apology.
Persephone’s relationship with Hades also became a profound lesson for me, a reflection of the kind of love that fosters growth rather than stifles it. Unlike the suffocating control of Demeter, Hades offers Persephone a love that empowers her to bloom into her most powerful self. In their sacred partnership, Hades doesn’t seek to diminish her light but to nurture it, providing a realm where she can rule as queen and fully step into her sovereignty. Ancient depictions of them seated side by side on their thrones, equals in power, speak to a love that is both fierce and tender—a love that allows Persephone to evolve while honoring her duality. Hades fosters her growth by giving her the space to explore her shadows, to wield her power over the underworld, and to return to the upper world as a symbol of renewal. Through their love, I learned what it means to be truly seen and supported—to be loved in a way that encourages you to become the most powerful version of yourself. This love is mirrored in my own marriage each and every day.
Over the years, Persephone has guided me through countless seasons of change—times of loss, rebirth, and self-discovery. She’s been a constant presence, her energy a reminder that true strength comes from integrating all parts of myself, from blooming in my light while honoring the depths of my shadow. She’s taught me to love fiercely, as she loves Hades, and to evolve through every season of life, just as she moves between the upper world and the underworld. As my matron, she’s not just a deity I work with—she’s a mirror, reflecting my own journey of transformation, a guide who has helped me escape the confines of those who would keep me small, and a teacher who has shown me how to claim my sovereignty by embracing my many beings. Persephone’s magic has been a lifeline, a reminder that I, too, can descend into my shadows and rise as a queen.

A fundamental pillar of Paganism is working with the deities that one believes in. While all practicing Pagans have varying beliefs about the gods and goddesses, most agree that honoring their deities is a great way to connect with them and further their spiritual goals. But, again remember not every pagan works with deities. Also remember there are literally thousands of different deities out there in the multiverse and which ones you choose to honor will often depend significantly upon what pantheon your spiritual path follows. This eBook will walk you thru the different ways to view deities, what a deity can be, and the basics to start building a deep meaningful relationship with one.

The new moon in Taurus on April 27, 2025, arrives to bathe us in a grounding, sensual energy that invites us to root deeply into the earth and cultivate lasting abundance. This new moon, nestled in the steadfast, nurturing, and pleasure-seeking earth sign of Taurus, offers a sacred moment to plant seeds of stability, self-worth, and beauty in our lives. New moons are always a time to start fresh, set intentions, and envision your future—but this Taurus new moon, coming just after Earth Day, doubles as a powerful opportunity to connect with the natural world and honor your own worth. For me, this moon feels especially significant after my recent journey of embracing winter’s magic in Minnesota, as it continues the theme of aligning with nature’s cycles and finding peace in stillness.
Taurus is all about grounding, luxury, and the appreciation of life’s simple pleasures. This new moon encourages us to slow down, savor the moment, and build a foundation for long-term growth. As a sign ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, Taurus reminds us to prioritize self-care, indulge in sensory delights, and cultivate a deep sense of self-worth. This new moon is the time to connect with the most stable, abundant version of yourself—the one that makes you think, “I am worthy of all the beauty and richness life has to offer.” Let this New Moon in Taurus anchor you in the earth’s embrace, helping you manifest a life of security, pleasure, and enduring growth.
New moon what it is and why we honor it
Every month, the new moon ushers us into a fresh cycle, a moment to pause, reflect, and set intentions. Before we dive into Taurus’s earthy magic, let’s ground ourselves in the essence of the new moon itself. This lunar phase is a time to cleanse your energy, set intentions for the cycle ahead, and plant the seeds of what you wish to manifest. But intentions alone aren’t enough—you must pair them with action and energy to bring them to life. The new moon supports you in this process, offering a fertile space for new ideas, beginnings, and growth.
Historically, our ancestors honored the new moon as a time of rest and renewal, using the darkness of the night sky to reflect and plan, much like they did during seasonal shifts. Think of your intentions as seeds you’re planting now, to be nurtured over the lunar cycle and harvested by the full moon. Each new moon carries its own unique magic, influenced by the zodiac sign it falls in. To learn more about working with the new moon, check out my previous blog post here. Taurus: The Sign of Grounding and Abundance
Each new moon is amplified by the zodiac sign it occupies, and this time, we’re blessed with the steady, sensual energy of Taurus. So, who is Taurus?
Taurus, symbolized by the bull, is the second sign of the zodiac, governing those born between April 20 and May 20. As an earth sign ruled by Venus, Taurus embodies stability, beauty, and a deep connection to the physical world. It’s the sign of the gardener, the artist, and the lover of life’s pleasures—think blooming flowers, a warm meal, or the feel of soft grass beneath your feet. Taurus energy is slow, deliberate, and deeply rooted, encouraging us to build solid foundations for our dreams. It’s also a fixed sign, meaning it’s all about perseverance, loyalty, and seeing things through to the end.
Taurus Constellation
Taurus is one of largest constellations in the northern sky. The constellation is symbolized by the bull’s head. Not only that it is one of the oldest constellations and one of the first ones to spoken and written about. Its history dates back to the Bronze Age .It sits in the evening sky close to the famous constellation Orion and it includes a famous star cluster the pleidess.
According to Greek mythology, the constellation Taurus was placed in the sky by the god Zeus. That’s because Zeus changed himself into a beautiful white Bull to win the affections of the Phoenician princess Europa. After Europa hopped onto the Bull’s back, the Bull swam across the Mediterranean Sea, taking Europa all the way to the island of Crete. Later, Zeus and Europa became the parents of Minos, the legendary king of Crete. In another Greek myth, Zeus’s wife, Juno, changed her lover, Io, into a heifer or bull to hide her from Zeus
Meanwhile, the Zuni of New Mexico used the Pleiades cluster as an agricultural calendar. When the Pleiades – which the Zuni called the Seed Stars – disappeared into the western dusk in spring, they knew it was safe to plant their seeds, as the danger of frost had passed.
Now for the oldest myth I can find. In Babylonian mythology, the bull was known as the Heavenly Bull, or MUL.APIN. This constellation is connected to the story of Gilgamesh. He was the king of the Sumerian city state of Uruk. In the book The Epic of Gilgamesh, the king has to fight the Heavenly Bull. This animal was sent by the goddess Ishtar to kill Gilgamesh. She was so angry at him for not falling for her advances that she thought he deserved to die. Gilgamesh is considered to be represented by the constellation Orion, which is right next to Taurus. The story goes that they are still fighting their battle in the skies.
Taurus: The Sign of Sensuality and Stability
Taurus is the embodiment of earthy sensuality, ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure. This sign revels in the material world—think lush gardens, fine fabrics, and the scent of blooming flowers. Taurus energy is grounded, patient, and deeply connected to the body, encouraging us to slow down and savor life’s delights. As a fixed earth sign, Taurus is the rock of the zodiac, offering stability, reliability, and a steadfast commitment to growth.
This new moon in Taurus is a time to embrace your inner gardener, planting seeds that will grow into lasting abundance. Taurus, ruled by Venus, invites us to focus on self-love, beauty, and the creation of a secure foundation. We may feel a surge of desire to nurture ourselves, to indulge in sensory pleasures, and to build a life that feels both luxurious and stable. Use this energy to root deeply into your values, to honor your worth, and to cultivate a sense of peace that withstands life’s storms.
Taurus: The Sign of Self-Worth
Taurus rules the second house in astrology, often called the house of values and possessions. This house governs our relationship with money, self-worth, and the material world, reflecting how we build security and abundance in our lives. Taurus, as the ruler of this house, teaches us that true abundance begins with self-worth. This sign encourages us to value ourselves deeply, to recognize our inherent worth, and to create a life that reflects that value.
Taurus energy is a reminder that we are enough, just as we are. It’s the sign that helps us cultivate a strong sense of self-esteem, grounded in authenticity rather than external validation. During this new moon, focus on what makes you feel worthy, secure, and connected to your body and the earth. Taurus invites us to build a life that feels rich in every sense—emotionally, spiritually, and materially.
Themes of the Taurus New Moon
Every new moon carries themes tied to its zodiac sign, and this Taurus new moon is all about grounding, abundance, and self-worth. We’ll feel a deep pull to slow down, to root into the present moment, and to nurture ourselves with intention. This new moon is about building a foundation for lasting growth, indulging in life’s pleasures, and honoring our inherent value. If you’ve been neglecting your needs or doubting your worth, this is your cosmic invitation to prioritize yourself and create a life that feels secure and beautiful. Keep in mind that this new moon follows Earth Day, amplifying its earthy energy and encouraging us to deepen our connection with nature.
Grounding: Anchor yourself in the present and connect with the earth’s stability.
Abundance: Plant seeds for financial, emotional, and spiritual prosperity.
Self-Worth: Recognize your value and build a life that reflects it.
Sensuality: Indulge in sensory pleasures and honor your body.
Stability: Create a solid foundation for your dreams.
Patience: Embrace the slow, steady pace of growth.
Beauty: Surround yourself with beauty and create a life that feels luxurious.
Nurturing: Care for yourself and your environment with love.
What to Be Cautious Of With the Taurus New Moon
While Taurus energy is grounding and nurturing, it can also lead to stubbornness and resistance to change. Taurus loves comfort and stability, which might make us cling to old habits or routines, even when they no longer serve us. Be mindful of becoming too rigid—allow yourself to adapt and grow while staying rooted in your values. Additionally, Taurus’s love of luxury can tip into overindulgence, so balance your desire for pleasure with mindfulness and moderation.
This new moon also calls for balance between stability and growth. While Taurus encourages us to build a solid foundation, don’t let that anchor you into stagnation. Use this energy to create security, but remain open to new possibilities. As I’ve learned through my own journey with winter’s stillness, there’s magic in slowing down—but growth often requires us to step beyond our comfort zone, even in small ways.
Taurus and Duality
As a grey witch, I always seek the duality in every energy I work with, including the new moon and the zodiac sign it occupies. Let’s explore the duality of Taurus. On one hand, Taurus is nurturing, sensual, and grounded, offering a stable foundation for growth and a deep appreciation for life’s pleasures. This energy is perfect for cultivating self-worth, building abundance, and rooting into the present moment. On the other hand, Taurus can be stubborn and resistant to change, sometimes leading to stagnation or an overattachment to material comforts. This duality reminds us that while stability is essential, we must also remain flexible to evolve.
The new moon itself is a liminal space, embodying duality through its balance of light and shadow. It’s a time of beginnings, but those beginnings are born from endings—a cycle of death and rebirth. Just as I learned to embrace winter’s stillness as a precursor to spring’s renewal, this Taurus new moon invites us to find harmony between grounding and growing, between indulgence and discipline.

This month’s full moon graces the skies on April 12th bringing balance and harmony with the scales of Libra as the pink moon blossoms. The energy behind this Pink Full Moon is one of Action, taking advantage of opportunities, bringing dreams into fruition, and balancing our relationships. As the pink moon blooms we will feel more forward momentum and a greater sense of clarity when it comes to our path ahead in life. In the days and weeks following this Full Moon, we may feel that we have finally shed an old cycle as dead petals fall to the ground and new ones open and bloom. Bringing us into a compassionate place of balance with ourselves and in each of our relationships in life. Come join me in this blog post as our petals open and blossom with balance under the pink full moon in Libra.
First, What is the Full Moon
Over the centuries, the Moon has played a significant role in different cultures and traditions. The full moon simply put is when the moon is completely illuminated in the sky and it has reached it’s peak in this lunar cycle in the sky. When the moon is completely illuminated it’s time for all to reach full expression. The full moon is the most powerful and potent time of the entire lunar cycle.
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). The full moon greatly affects humans and it’s no wonder it does because, there’s a scientific reason for this – we are made up of 60% or more of water. Full Moons are the peak point of the lunar cycle: at this time of the month, the light of the Sun is fully illuminating the Moon, and the luminaries are exactly opposing one another from our perspective on Earth. This potent alignment offers us opportunities to gain more awareness about what is moving in our inner and emotional world, and information previously uncertain or hidden could be revealed at this time.
With the moon being fully illuminated it creates this portal to some of the most potent energy to connect to for us to manifest our desires and dream life. This portal creates a connection to our peak creative energy and the deep seated creative passions we all have within us. This creative energy and power is the energy we need to actually do and create the things and lifestyle we need to manifest what we desire. With the new moon phase being about planting the seeds of what you want to manifest, the full moon is about actually doing the work and moving the energy to make your manifesting happen. The full moon allows you to bridge the connection between these energies and themes and bring them into your life while reminding you how important it is to have them in your life not only when the moon is illuminated in the sky for you to see.
There are so many ways to work with the full moon, to learn more about the basics of working with the full moon energy check out my blog post here and you can watch my class all about lunar magic. But, remember each full moon will be slightly different and have different practices to add and different ways to do it based on which zodiac sign the full moon is currently in at the time.
The Pink Moon
As the sun brightens up our lives with longer days beckoning the plants to grow and flowers to bloom once again. The night time skies shimmer with the ethereal and refreshing energy of the full moon known as the Pink moon. The Pink Moon is a name given to the April full moon, originating from the pink flowers, known as wild creeping phlox, that typically bloom during this time of year in North America. However, despite the name, the Moon itself doesn’t actually appear pink but instead takes on its usual golden or white hue. The energy of this pink moon is palpable with its anticipation for new opportunities, new beginnings, and fresh intentions. Just as the pink flowers of spring are blooming after a long winter, this full moon encourages us to shed the old and embrace the new.
Even though the Worm moon last month in March was the first full moon of spring; this pink moon is the one that really tells us spring has sprung! The pink moon is a reminder of the cyclical nature of life, encouraging us to embrace transformation, nurture growth, and find beauty in the always changing world around us. Use the Pink Moon as a time to pause, reflect, recalibrate, and make sure you’re moving in the right direction. Under the shimmering glow of this pink moon you will feel a pull to truth-seeking, boundary-setting, and energetic maintenance.
As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the Pink moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are; the end of Winter, the beginning of Spring, new beginnings, renewal, and the movement of nature.

So, who is Libra?
As the seventh sign in the zodiac, Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and relationships. The air element, associated with intellect and communication, governs Libra, adding a layer of social intelligence and charm to this sign and how they interact with the rest of the zodiac. Libra is known for its need for balance and harmony, its social grace, its ability to foster cooperation and compromise, and its keen eye for beauty and aesthetics.
Libra, the scales of balance
Libra is unique in the zodiac for it is the only one represented by an inanimate object; the scales. All other signs are represented by a human or an animal. The symbol of the scales represents the necessity of balance in every area of life. They are a reflection of what we are truly working to achieve: a balance between light and dark with the right amounts of each. Not only in our live but, also in the energy balance of the multiverse as a whole. When the Moon is in the accommodating sign of Libra, you will feel much more focused on creating balance and harmony all around you. You will be forced to set things on the cosmic scale of the multiverse and see their true nature and weight. Libra doesn’t just appreciate balance and what the scales has to say. Libra also seeks out the imbalance, and welcomes it with open arms so they can fix it. They view it as their cosmic responsibility to set everything on the scales around them to maintain cosmic balance and harmony.
The Libra Constellation
Libras constellation lies in the southern sky. The association of this region of the sky with scales was seen in both babylon and Rome. It is said that the Moon was in Libra when Rome was founded even. Which made Libra very sacred to the people of the city. The Romans considered Libra to be associated with balanced seasons and equal length of night and day. Most likely due to the fact that when this constellation is the most visible is right after the autumn equinox. The Romans believed the scales were held by the goddesses Astraea or Lustitia, the goddess of truth and justice, up in the night sky. Unlike the romans the ancient Greeks, did not hold Libra in such high esteem. For they thought Libra was just the outstretched claws of the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion without its own myth for it being placed amongst the stars.

Libra the sign of Fairness and Justice
Libra is an intellectual sign concerned with fairness, equality, and justice. Libra wants everyone in the world to be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, and to have equal rights and protections. No one is above anyone else on this planet for we all are one and from the same source, and Libras scales force you to remember that. Libra feels deep pain when looking down from the stars, to see all of the fighting and destruction in the world. They seek harmony and honesty, using their innate empathy as a driving force to seek justice for others. Libra craves for everyone to just get along living alongside each other in peach and harmony. They are willing to do anything and to make any compromise to get it, even at the cost of themselves at times.
Libra the sign of connection and relationships
Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure. During this full Moon, the energies of Libra will be magnified, inviting us to focus on creating balance in our relationships, and remembering the importance of the dance of give and take to maintain it. Libra’s essence is about fostering meaningful connections and harmony with all those around us. Libra does this by finding ways to unite opposites and achieve compromise through active and loving relationships. It’s also a time to envision healthy, supportive relationships that can honor our soul’s path while we honor others’ paths. It can be challenging to form partnerships where both people’s individual life paths are honored. We need partners who can walk with us while walking their own paths.
Chiron the wounded healer is active
Chiron, the asteroid named after the wounded healer, is active under this Full Moon adding a layer of potent healing to the transformative energy of the pink moon. By forcing us to tend to and weed out the wounds that hurt us the most to allow us to fully bloom. This is because, Chiron represents the forever wounds that become a part of our being. They are the wounds that cut us to our core, the ones we think about when we are alone at night, and the ones that never truly leave us. Chiron is one of my favorite energies to work with and I feel he is overlooked so much when he is active. So, who is he? He is the most famous centaur, from later Greek Mythology, and he was known to be a wise man and a healer. In Greek Mythology, it was Chiron who taught humanity the constellations. That’s huge! Chiron is our celestial teacher. On top of that, many well known Greek gods and goddesses looked to him for spiritual advice, most will know him nowadays through the hero Hercules. Chiron wasn’t necessarily on a self-healing journey, but by being of service to others and sharing his story as a teacher, he too, experienced healing and became known as the wisest healer and teacher of them all. But remember, Chiron’s energy is not about “fixing” your wounds, rather it’s about radically accepting them. It’s about knowing that our wounds are part of this earthly experience and don’t prevent us from being able to lead a beautiful and fulfilling life . One that is full of purpose instead of suffering. Chiron wants us to acknowledge our wounds as a part of the fabric of our destiny, and something that can make us stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. When Chiron is active some of the most profound healing can happen. To learn more about him check out my guide HERE!
Venus the planet of love goes direct
Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, is also adding a third layer of healing under this Full Moon as she prepares to emerge from the underworld. After being retrograde since March 1st forcing us into the shadows of our hearts and the wounds of our relationships. She will be pulling on our hearts to act on those insights she has shown us. By forcing us this past month to question our relationships or dynamics and patterns playing out within them. Those cycles we noticed with our loved ones we are wanting to break? Now is the time to be able to do just that with Venus’s compassionate embrace. Be willing to release or let something go that no longer aligns with this new rebirth of the heart that Venus has been instigating for us. Then watch as your relationships bloom with a deepened love under Venus and the pink full moon.
What to be cautious of during a Libra full moon
Libra is one of the most beloved signs in the zodiac, I think mainly due to its loving, and compassionate nature. That is really truly willing to do anything for you to keep the peace, including avoiding at all cost confrontation and conflict. While this energy will have a loving and reviving energy to our relationships, connections, and the bonds we hold most dear. We do have a few things to be cautious of and keep in mind with this Libra new moon and its energy. Libra’s deep desire to maintain the peace and harmony around us may allow us to let others run us over, take advantage of us, and we may just sit and duck our heads. Instead of speaking up for ourselves, you may choose to just keep the peace instead. Be cautious with this because, peace in the community is not worth the cost of your inner peace. To gain true balance and equilibrium in the multiverse your happiness matters just like the rest. Let’s not forget as an air sign as well Libra has a gift with their tongue and is able to make you feel quite charming. So, if you do speak up keep that in mind with the words you choose and whom you speak them too. Don’t unwilling use you golden tongue right now to lure others to you whom shouldn’t be.
Libra full moon and duality
Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First let’s talk about the duality of the full moon. The full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality. Second, let’s talk about the duality of Libra. With Libra I feel the duality is pretty obvious since this energy is all about balance and equilibrium. Which means equal parts of two different things. When Libra sets things on the scales they are acknowledging the importance of both existing but, that finding balance between both is key. Libra reminds us that embracing duality and balance is the key; for everything is all connected.

Intention and release bay leaf ritual to balance the scales
The ritual I am bringing to you for this Libra full moon will allow you to not only release patterns and relationships that no longer serve you. But, will allow you to balance the scales and create equilibrium in your release work. By not only using the energy of the full moon to let go of the hurts from the past that are keeping you stuck. But, to also attract your manifestations on the other side of the scale weighing it down. You see to create true equilibrium and balance in your life you can’t just release the things holding you back in the past. You must also set new intentions for the future. Try this spell below to even the scales of your life underneath the light of Libra full moon tonight.
What you will need:
6 bay leaves
a pen or marker
3 small bowls
a white candle
a black candle
How to cast this spell:
First, take your time to do whatever it is you need to get into a magical state to be able to create a sacred container. If this means you meditate, light incense, lower the lights, whatever it is you need, do it now. Next make sure to take your 3 bowls and place them in a line of three in front of you with a white candle in the one on the right and a black candle in the one on the left. Once, you feel your physical environment is set up, I want you to get into sacred container by taking some deep breaths and envisioning the new moon above you. Sending grey, silvery light full of balance, equilibrium, and duality from the scales of Libra down on you tonight. Now in your right hand place 3 bay leaves, envisioning white light of intention and planting seeds. Allow that light to guide your heart and show you what it is you need to start. Whether it be new habits, relationships, or finding new ways to do your part. Follow that light to see what it is you need to truly live a life of balance, fairness, and harmony. Once you feel those intentions anchored in your heart take your pen or marker and write each of the three on separate bay leaves. Than place in the bowl on the right, and light your white candle connecting those intentions to the white energy of intention and the full moon above. Next, take a deep breath and in your left hand place 3 bay leaves, envisioning black light of letting go and releasing. Allow that light to guide your heart and show you what it is that is blocking you. From truly being able to reach a state of balance, fairness, and equality. Is there an addiction, a trauma, or relationship no longer creating growth but holding you back? What is sitting there in the shadows of you heart tipping your scales to far into the dark? Once you feel you know what that blockage is for you to release and you feel ready to let it go. Take your pen or marker and write each of the three blockages on separate bay leaves. Than place them in the bowl on the left, and light the black candle, connecting you with the black energy of our shadow and releasing. Next, take the deepest of breaths pick up the bay leaves on the right and as you light them in the candle flame repeat of white, ” I light these leaves to represent the light of my intentions set this night.” Next, take another deep breath and pick up the bay leaves on the left and as you light them in the black candle flame repeat, “I light these bay leave to represent the darkness and past in my life I choose to release”. Lastly, take the ashes from the bowl on both left and the right and pour them into the center bowl as you say. “”As the scales of Libra find balance tonight, so too shall my life be in perfect equilibrium and invoke peace and harmony for myself and all those around me.” Take this bowl of balance created with your intentions planted, and your blockages released and leave it in the center of your altar until the new moon shines its silvery rays again over your life.

The new moon in March is set to ignite the night sky with the passionate energy allowing us to met any challenge and obstacle with determination. This new moon occupied by a solar eclipse is here to challenge your comfort zone, push you toward growth, and help you step into a more authentic version of yourself. This new moon we will find ourselves in the headstrong, motivated, energetic, confident, independent, and passionate fire sign of the ram, Aries. New moons are an opportunity to start fresh, plant seeds, and envision your future—and this month’s new moon in Aries happens to be the first new moon of the astrological year. In other words? Consider it time to set your “New Year’s” resolutions for the astrological year. For me this is the third time during the year I set year long resolutions. This moon in particular means really big change, taking big, bold, brave steps towards the life your truly want to live.
Aries is full of energy, enthusiasm, and spunk, and wants to get things going. The new moon in Aries is an opportune time to initiate change, take action towards goals, and renew oneself. Aries is also the sign of Self, which means you get to be a little bit selfish during this new moon phase. During this new moon in Aries, it’s time for you to focus on yourself and be willing to face change head on without hesitation in your mind or fear in your heart. This new moon is the time to connect with your highest, best, most amazing version of you – the one that makes you think “holy sh*t I can’t believe this is my life.” Let this new Moon in Aries ignite a fiery burst of energy within you. Allow it to start a bright, burning, raging fire of change, and a passionate pursuit of our goals.
New moon what it is and why we honor it
Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we ignite our passion and take determined action with the Aries new moon. The new moon is the time to reflect and cleanse your energy. It is a time to set your intentions for what you wish to attract this lunar cycle. But, remember every intention set requires action and energy from your part as well. You can’t just set an intention and miraculously it is yours. You must also put the movement of energy behind it with action steps.
The new moon energy is there to support you in manifesting what you want. The new moon is a time to allow new ideas and energy to flow with you. It is a time to honor new beginnings, and the turning over of a cycle. Think of these intentions as seeds you are planting for this lunar cycle to be ready to harvest by the full moon. Use this time to rest, reflect, and plant what you will grow just as your ancestors across many cultures did while there was little light in the night sky for them to use.
Each New Moon is unique, offering its own magic within each month. To learn more about the foundations of working with the new moon, and how it affects you, read more here in my previous blog post. And to learn more about the moon in general and lunar magic you can read my comprehensive guide on the topic here. You can also watch my class on YouTube with Divination Academy here!
The Solar eclipse energy
Before we talk about the ram and the Aries energy the new moon is going to be in we have another energy to talk about. The solar eclipse that will be taking place as well. So what is a solar eclipse? A Solar Eclipse appears when the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out the light of the Sun. It’s considered to be three times more potent than a regular New Moon because it’s happening in close proximity to the Lunar Nodes of Destiny. During a solar eclipse symbolically, the energies associated with the Moon eclipse those of the Sun, so that feelings and emotions dominate over the ego and the will.
Beyond its astronomical wonder, the solar eclipse holds spiritual significance for many. It symbolizes a time of darkness and spiritual renewal, offering an opportunity for introspection and the shedding of old energies. In astrology, the eclipse signifies the darkness of the ego and the potential for spiritual rebirth, marking a moment to release past patterns and embrace new perspectives.
Eclipses bring about energy of great change meant to shake things up. To create an intense time of great transformation, rebirth, and growth. A solar eclipse specifically is a time of new beginnings, taking initiative, and starting brand new things like jobs, businesses, projects, and relationships. This energy is all about change, transformation, good luck, growth, and abundance. This energy is known to change the wheel of fate and awaken things for us. Despite the fated nature, Eclipses should not be feared but welcomed as a source of evolutionary change that leads to a powerful yet often uncomfortable, and even painful transformation
Who is Aries?
Like, I said before each new moon will be amplified and influenced by the zodiac sign we find it in and this time the new moon is in the sign of Aries. So who is Aries?
Aries symbolized by the ram is the first sign of the zodiac which makes it the go-getter of the Zodiac. People born between March 21st and April 19th are considered Aries. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries symbolizes new beginnings, assertiveness, and the pursuit of our passions. It’s ruled by Mars, the God of war, making the ram a fearless fighter. Aries is a fire sign, and its energy is passionate, dynamic, and driven. Through the sign of the Ram, we tap into our inner fire, embody our inner warrior, and work on developing a conscious relationship with our anger. Aries is the sign to commit to personal goals and have the fiery motivation to see them through to the end. Aries is the sign to connect us with our capacity to be the leaders of our lives, to take paths that no one ever walked before, to go toward the direction that instinctively calls to us. Aries, is known to be a little bit faster to react because, they are more intrigued by doing something they’ve never done before. Being ruled by mars Aries is much more willing to take a risk or take a gamble by pushing into the unknown and usually being the first one to do it as well.
Aries Constellation
Aries is one of the smallest constellations of the zodiac sitting in Northern sky. This constellation is located between Pisces to the west and Taurus to the east. The constellation has been associated with a ram since ancient times. In ancient Babylon, the Aries star constellation was known by the name CHUN-GA, or Aries. Also, the Persians, the ancient Egyptians, and the Minoans called it ‘Aries’ as well. Ultimately, by way of Greece, the constellation came to Rome, where astronomers gave it the Latin name ‘Aries’; meaning ram.
I find that Aries has one of the largest varieties of legends and myths about it’s placement in the skies and it’s association with the ram. One of the simplest and most commonly known legends attributes the name of the constellation to Zeus, who turned into a ram while fleeing the overpowering Titans which is why the image was place amongst the stars.
In another, less well known telling of the Aries constellation myth, a Roman writer Hygenius describes how Bacchus aka Dionysus (greek), the god of wine, together with his cheerful entourage, unexpectedly lost his way in the vastness of the Libyan Desert. In this dry wasteland, they were soon plagued by terrible thirst. Fortunately, they met a friendly ram that led Bacchus and his party to a source of water, saving them from certain death. In gratitude, Bacchus placed the ram amongst the stars in the heavens for all eternity.
In the most well known Aries constellation myth of Greek origin, King Athamas appointed his eldest son Phrixos as his heir to the throne. His current wife, Ino, however, wanted to see her own son named the heir. For this reason, the queen devised a plan to cause the crops of their land to not flourish and grow. She let the seed rot and spoil, so when they were planted the following year they would not be able to grow.
Once the crops that season had failed to grow she convinced her husband, the king to consult an oracle that she had visited prior and had under her control. He was told that if he wanted to avoid another crop failure in the following year, he would have to sacrifice his son Phrixos; the one he had named as his heir.
The king had agreed but, on the day of the offering, a magnificent ram, summoned by Nephele (Phrixos’s biological mother) appeared in a shining golden fleece. Phrixos and his sister, Helle, swiftly mounted the ram’s back and flew away. But high above the strait separating Europe and Asia, Helle fell into the sea, where she drowned. The ram flew on with Phrixos on his back to the land of Colchis, where the boy was well received. Upon the Ram’s wish as a thanks for his service; Phrixos sacrificed him to the gods where he now resides in the heavens among the stars for all eternity.
Aries The Primal Sign Of Passion
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac which means it is the big bang, our life force, the element of fire, primal passion, anger, rage, and ruled by Mars the God of War- this sign is the sign of life itself. It is the spark needed to light the tinder for existence to evolve. It is our will to persist no matter what obstacles are in our way. This sign is a Cardinal sign which means it is a leader, an initiator, and a visionary of the cosmos.
This new Moon is a time to embrace our inner warrior. Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of action, passion, and aggression. During this full Moon, we may feel a surge of energy, passion, and assertiveness. We can use this energy to break free from old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve us. We can assert our boundaries, speak our truth, and take action toward our deepest desires with the flames of burning passion.
Aries The Sign Of Independence
This sign is also a sign of independence which means it’s a time to focus on what YOU really truly want for YOU and not for others. You will feel many things coming up for you that may surprise you especially if you are a people pleaser. The energy of Aries really pushes you to think about what makes YOU and YOU alone happy and whole. One of Aries’ “lessons” is to show a pure part of ourselves to the world. By acting upon our own inner impulses (constructive ones!) without fear, and by abandoning the need to refine these impulses based on what others might want us to do or what others think we “should” do, we learn more about ourselves. If we learn to depend on ourselves, we exude an all-new aura of strength that comes from personal integrity and confidence, and strength.
Aries the sign of action
Aries is the zodiac sign of action, as it is associated with initiation, taking the lead, and making a mark on the world. Aries draws fire into the atmosphere, stimulating life force and vitality pushing us into action. Aries it the energy that lights the fire in our soul driving us to make our mark on the world. Aries teaches us that courage is the key to unlocking our full potential. And that comes from connecting your head to your heart, focusing your will, and taking consistent action. Aries is a cardinal sign, which means it is associated with taking the lead and driving change. Aries is nothing if not bold, preferring to act first and think later never hesitating to step into the unknown.
Aries the ruler of self
Since Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is also the ruler of the first house in astrology. Which is often called the house of self. In this house you are given a window into understanding more about your outward appearance, traits, characteristics, outlook, and sense of expression. This house is the location of your ascendant or rising sign, which speaks to how you present yourself in the world. Since Aries rules this house, Aries represents consciousness, that first awareness of the self, separate from others and eager to explore the world. Aries is the personal fire deep within your soul, it’s our true self. Aries is the zodiac sign that blazes with a strong sense of self-worth, self-assurance, and self- confidence. Aries has the purest sense of self it’s the sign that truly navigates life in the 1st person perspective and approaches the world only as they authentically are.

What To Be Cautious Of With The Aries new Moon
Amidst the beauty of this lunar energy, there may also be feelings of explosive anger and outbursts. The energy of Aries is grounded in Mars, which is all about aggression, war, and conflict. So, take the time to stop and think before you let the little things allow you to blow up right now and create conflicts in your life by making small things bigger than they need to be. It is essential during this time to stay grounded, and connected to who you are so your emotions don’t allow you to wander from your goals, let your ego get in the way, or allow your anger to create unnecessary conflict with others.
Also remember, as you tap into Aries’ pioneering spirit, that new Moons also highlight balance not just new beginnings. While you may feel the urge to charge ahead, don’t forget to pause, reflect, and ensure that your actions align with your higher purpose. Aries can sometimes push us toward impulsive decisions, so let the fire of this new Moon guide you with both confidence and mindfulness. It’s great to let our passion and motivation propel us forward without fear, but also remember that fear does serve a purpose. It keeps us safe and whole. So, while you use that bold, assertive, and headstrong Aries energy to pursue your dreams and goals make sure you listen to red flags of urgent danger that pop up along the way.
Aries and duality
Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. This includes the full moon and the energy of the zodiac sign it currently is in. First, let’s look at the duality of Aries itself. Aries is known for being assertive and enjoying excitement, which can make it an energy that is full of passion, confidence and a bit impulsive. Which is an amazing energy for being able to truly let go of things no longer serving you by burning it away and moving forward in life with fiery motivation and passion. It can also be a potent time to really take steps towards the biggest goals for you unique path in life. However, it can also be known for that passion turning into a fiery temper. Which can cause us to lash out in anger towards those who are only trying to help us meet our goals and walk down our intended path. Once we feel discord in our relationships because of our own anger, it can make us feel isolated and cause us to no longer focus on the passion of this energy to meet our goals. Second, the new moon itself is all about duality and illuminating the night sky in both light and shadows. The new moon is all about rebirth, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle, which puts you in a transitional liminal space, energy, and time. In order for you to be in a space to begin again, to transition, and be reborn you had to just come from an ending and death.

Ritual To Connect To Your Anger
Working with our anger can be a powerful, potent, and liberating experience. Anger in and of itself is not a negative. No emotion is negative since every emotion serves a function and is sending us a message. How we use our anger is what determines whether it’s constructive or destructive. As the Aries new moon summons your inner warrior, think of your anger as a battle cry to pay attention to your boundaries, your passions, and your unmet needs and/or desires. If you’ve been letting someone push you around, it’s time to address the unworkable behavior and create a new way of interacting. Don’t be afraid to simply just let some pent up anger out as well by just letting a scream, yell, shout, or cry out to mother nature and the cosmos.
Use the journal prompts below to connect to your anger in a quiet sacred container. You can amplify the affect right now by having a red, orange, or white candle burning next to you as you do this work. The candle will help you connect to the element of fire, the planet mars, and the energy of Aries. Once you have completed the prompts below, you can than take the answers and burn the list in your candle flame to release any of the unwanted and negative affects of the anger you have been harnessing during this session. Don’t forget to visualize you harnessing your anger in a productive and constructive way in the future to manifest it into you life as you are also releasing the unwanted affects.

Are there areas or causes in your life you need to harness your anger for the sake of justice and protecting others?
Is your anger being mistaken for something else? Like loneliness, hurt, passion, assertiveness etc.
Where in your life do you need to let go of anger and what does that look like?

The March full moon graces the skies on March 14th as the maiden is just about to be stepping back onto Earth beckoning the flowers to blossom and bloom in the sign Virgo. Virgo is the sign of the psyche, healing, and analyzing our actions of the past, present, and future. The Full Moon in March is here to remind us of the resilience in the self sacrificing maiden. To remember that now is not the time to lose hope. To always have faith even if your systems are being destroyed and order is being lost . Change is hard but we need to realize that any sort of change, in whatever form, will lead us to different places. New ways of doing things, leading to new systems being put in place, and new ways to help those around you. When we let go of the need to control every outcome, and know every detail of the plan ahead of time; we can go to places even we fail to imagine or dream for ourselves to reach. This full moon will illuminate the importance of the connection we have to our physical vessels and bodies. Giving us a portal to connect to it under its shining silvery rays of light. This is because, Virgo has the ability to listen to their bodies, connect with higher selves, and follow their hearts. This also helps us stay grounded. And this is its greatest gift. Come join me in this blog post as we follow the worm trails under the Earthly blood red light of the Virgo full moon together.
The Worm Moon
As the last whispers of winter fade and the first hints of spring begin to unfold, the Full Moon of March rises, casting a soft glow over the new life beginning to bloom on earth. This is a time when nature starts to stir from its slumber, and we, too, feel the pull of new beginnings. This means the creatures and critters that are crucial for every ecosystem living deep down in the nutrient rich soil; the worms begin to come out. As the worms emerge from their winter slumbers and begin reclaiming their places among the dirt and foliage. Their trails are like beacons to the robins welcoming them back to feed and usher in Spring. This is why the full moon of March and final full moon of winter is most commonly known as the worm full moon. This full moon is all about hearing the last fading whispers of Winter as the ground and snow begins to unthaw and we begin to welcome the warmth, hope, and new life of Spring.
This worm full moon is overflowing with energy during it that is palpable in the air around us and electrifying to our bones. It’s a full moon that is one of the most transformative throughout the lunar year. Allowing us to break down everything we have been taking in during our introspective winter. To digest it and keep t he nutrients needed while releasing the things that only cause us harm, illness, or even death. Just like the earthworms do down deep beneath the soil in our gardens allowing our seeds to be nourished and grow. Worms remind us to dig through resistance to forge new paths. Because, Spring can be an intense, messy, and muddy season of change. If you’ve been stuck, hesitant, or doubting your next move, the worm full moon encourages you to keep moving. Keep digging, keep creating new tunnels, and the way forward will reveal itself as you go. Don’t let the mud thick with energy of both Winter and Spring keep you stuck in place any longer this month.
As with most pagan names there will be different ones for each culture so below I listed any of the other names for the cold moon I could find across the Earth. The common themes for these moons are; the end of Winter, the beginning of Spring, new beginnings, renewal, or March’s unpredictable weather.

The lunar eclipse energy
So, what about the lunar eclipse energy happening right now? if you go online especially on social media you will see countless warnings telling you not to do any workings during a lunar eclipse including making moon water. They say its a time of bad omens, and a time that is too chaotic to harness and work with. I simply don’t agree with this. This may be because I am a grey witch. I just don’t see why we can’t work with a moon phase that is chaotic. The universe and all that exists within it sprouted from chaos or nothingness. This is a common theme in many different belief systems, cultures, and stories across the Earth and time like in Mesopotamia with the goddess Tiamat. So, wouldn’t working with chaos like the lunar eclipse be a very primal and potent things for us humans to do? I think so. But, it will be up to you and what you decide for your own practices and beliefs.
This eclipse is also a time to close a karmic chapter and cycle in our lives and begin writing the next new chapter. Eclipses tie to endings, so this can be a big eclipse for finishing something. To finish something that is meant to truly allow us to move and heal in our lives and evolve. Eclipses are times of release and truth-telling. Even though the eclipse is in intellectual, analytical, and practical Virgo, it’ll heighten our emotions and urge us to release the past. To reorganize our thoughts, emotions, and inner feelings allowing us to declutter our mental and spiritual space. This full moon and lunar eclipse energy combined together will be a huge time for releasing baggage, whether it’s spiritual, emotional, subconscious, or karmic.
What is a blood moon?
Right now we have another energy affecting this full moon that while it sounds eerie has quite the opposite affect and has been happening for thousands of years. First, what is a blood moon? Due to the moon’s eerie, color-shifted appearance during total lunar eclipses, these full moons are often nicknamed “blood moons.” So, in other words blood moons are simply just a nick name for or another way to describe a lunar eclipses. Remember a total lunar eclipse means that the Earth has moved fully between the sun and the full moon. The sun’s light is blocked from reflecting off the moon, giving us the striking yet eerie red color that has been known for hundreds of years as the blood moon. What’s really unique about the blood moon is that is doesn’t happen all night long but, instead for a pocket of time. Typically lasting about only 2 hours. Not only that, they only happen twice a year! Meaning this is a rare moment of time and portal of energy we have a chance to tap into.
So what is that energy you can tap into during a blood moon? Since the blood moon is connected to a lunar eclipse, it naturally speaks to new beginnings, definite endings, and intense culminations. A lunar eclipse is a great time to do something you are afraid of or come to an important decision, and a blood moon only heightens this effect. Pushing us harder to close a chapter that no longer serves us, to allow a new beginning to open. During this blood moon you may feel intense emotions like anxiety or stress while equally feeling extreme happiness or joy. Just follow those emotions and let them take you on the ride you need in order to close a chapter and open your next one.
So, who is Virgo?
This sign gets a lot of crap in the zodiac and many do not like to work with it and we often see people talking about how this is their most hated sign and energy to work with. For me this moon is one of my favorites every time it comes around. Maybe, it’s because I not only am a Virgo moon and rising, but I have Virgo in 9 of my houses so, when this moon comes around I personally am amplified. Or, maybe it’s because this energy is so dense and steeped in duality and movement. Which, I just simply can not wait to see what I can accomplish and get done while in it. But, let’s talk about who Virgo is to the Zodiac and the energy she represents.
Virgo is represented by the virgin or maiden archetype and is deeply connected to the element of earth and is a mutable sign. Virgo is an Earth sign so it’s practical, stable, and grounded but, it’s also related to Mercury. Which means it has an active mind and is related to communication as well. Virgo reminds us of the importance of maintaining a solid connection with the Earth and encourages us to connect with the divine order amidst the vast universal chaos. It reminds us the comfort the bounty of the earth has to offer all around us and the beauty order can create in nature.
The sign of Virgo, is rooted in the physical world which makes Virgo the sign of health and wellness, so right now we may focus on trying to work on health issues. This includes scheduling needed medical appointments, changing your eating habits, hydrating yourself, adding exercise, and adjusting your sleep schedule. Virgo’s ruling planet Mercury has dominion over the brain and the nervous system, which reminds us of the links between the mind and the functions of the body. This can be the perfect energy to use to help you eliminate a bad habit, or to quit something that is causing you harm.
Virgo can also be seen across many pantheons as a key representation to the seasons, duality, and a key part to the divine feminine energy we all are connected to. Virgo is represented by the maiden and virgin energy making her vital to the triple goddess representation of the divine feminine energy. She represents and connects us to the first pivotal transformation and shift we go thru in our lives moving from child to a maiden before the next phase into the mother energy of our lives. You see this energy and representation with goddess like Persephone and her story of transformation to power thru duality.
Virgo the Maiden/Virgin
Unlike the majority of other zodiac signs, the symbol for Virgo is very unique since it is not an animal. Instead, the symbol is the beautiful maiden or the virgin and is depicted as a young woman carrying a sheaf of wheat, an image that can be interpreted as a fertility goddess or a harvest maiden. The maiden stands for beauty, purity, and tranquility. Virgo translates to “virgin” in Latin and the maiden is symbolic of this translation but, not in a sexual sense like we know it as now. It is referring to the definition of the word long before that. With it meaning a woman who was “one-in-herself.” or who wasn’t attached to a man. So, this sign really is about the power the divine feminine has in her own right. The Maiden’s presence amongst the stars is considered a reflection of patience, integrity, and honor it takes to wield title. Virgo displays all of these traits within the zodiac. The Virgo symbol of the Maiden also expresses the service-oriented qualities of this zodiac sign. The parts of Virgo that exist to give up all of themselves in service of others. To care for others, and make sure everyone around them lacks for nothing. Even if it means they will deny themselves and go without those things their entire lives. We see this in the fact that the maiden is the sign associated with Sprig and the harvest. Both pivotal points of the year when the people get all they need to be nourished and survived. As a grounded earth sign and an analytical mutable sign, Virgo is easily the purist intentioned of the zodiac. Which comes with a high level of need for purity, cleanliness, and order in life.
The Virgo Constellation
Virgo is the largest constellation of the Zodiac and the second largest constellation in the sky with hydra being the only one larger. It is located between the constellations Leo and Libra. It contains the bright star Spica, aka the Autumn equinox star. It also contains many exoplanets and deep-space objects. The constellation is widely associated with the harvest which is why it is known as the Autumn equinox star. It marks the part of the sky where the Sun rises in autumn, when crops are harvested. In some Greek stories and myths, Virgo is Persephone, the daughter of the Greek goddess Demeter who ruled over the harvests.
While in others, maybe the most common myth; Virgo relates to Dike, the Greek goddess of justice. Dike was the daughter of Zeus and Greek Titaness Themis. In Greek mythology, Dike lived in the Golden Age of mankind. She was born a mortal and placed on Earth to rule over human justice. The Golden Age was marked by prosperity and peace, everlasting spring, and humans never knowing old age. When Zeus fulfilled the old prophecy and overthrew his father, this marked the beginning of the Silver Age, which was not as prosperous. Zeus introduced the four seasons and humans no longer honored the gods as they had used to. Dike gave a speech to the entire race, warning them about the dangers of leaving behind the ideals of their predecessors and saying worse was yet to come. Then she flew to the mountains, turning her back on humans. When the Bronze and Iron Ages came and humans started warring among themselves, Dike left the Earth altogether, and flew to the heavens.
A few other smaller known mentions I can find associated with this constellation are; the corn goddess Atargatis, the Syrian goddess of fertility, and Erigone, the daughter of Icarius, who hanged herself after her father’s death. Plus, historians Eratosthenes and Hyginus also associate the constellation Virgo with Tyche, the goddess of fortune, even though Tyche is usually depicted as holding the horn of plenty and not an ear of grain.

Virgo the Practical and analytical mind
Virgo is deeply connected to our practical and analytical side of our mind and it is heightened with it’s connection to mercury as well. With it being so analytical this energy can cause us to go deep into our minds and reflect. The Virgo full Moon highlights the invitation to notice in what areas of our lives we need more discernment, better boundaries, and a stronger connection with the Earth. Virgo likes to cut through the noise and get to the good stuff; constantly sorting out thoughts, feelings, and everything around them. A Virgo’s mind is never silent. Virgo energy allows you to figure out what’s useful or useless, what’s true or not true, what’s right or wrong.
The Virgo full Moon offers us chances to see where better standards may be needed, where we may be ungrounded or excessively idealistic, and what needs to be differently structured or organized for the sake of better functionality or health. This lunation also invites us to refine our capacity to discern between the whispers of our intuition and the voice of our fears and insecurities. Take the time to really focus on differentiating between those voices. Figure out what voices are the ones based in reality and which ones are based in anxiety and a constant need for control. Taking the time to do while the moon is full in this energy will allow you to see clearer paths full of detail and structure. Giving you the steps you need to take and the action plan to make all of your goals, dreams, and manifestations bloom this spring. But, don’t allow the analytical energy of Virgo to turn into ruminating thoughts which it can very easily do. Trust me I know! Nothing is worse then a Virgo shame spiral or what if question game. Let go of the need for control and needing to know how everything will go. This full Moon in Virgo is a time to let go of self-doubt, perfectionism, and self-criticism as you step into your potential.
Virgo the sign of heightened productivity
The Virgo Full Moon is often a time of heightened productivity. Virgo is the sign of work, and Full Moons rule endings, so we’re working hard to get things done. The urge to finish your to do lists is going to be overwhelming and you may become very hyper focused on them. We can tackle projects, tasks, and chores at home or at a job, and we want to feel we’re getting all of the little things out of the way. This is going to be overwhelming and you may become very hyper focused on them. You will take great joy in checking each task off the list as you finish it. ( I always do but, during a Virgo full moon its almost orgasmic) We can take on and tackle all the tiny little projects, tasks, and chores at home or at a job, we have been putting off but, now must take care of and get done. This full moon is your chance to get organized, finish your goals, and take action towards your dreams, without being overly critical of yourself. It is the full moon to finish all those things you have been putting off that are critical to your goals being met and your dreams coming true. No matter how tedious of a task it is or how mundane it may seem. Virgo thrives on these detail oriented type of things, use it to check them off those t do list now!
Virgo is very detailed orientated, and thrives in order and cleanliness. So, when we are in this energy we can be focused and pay close attention to detail. By detail, I mean every tiny little detail. Things you have never seen before you will notice. Things that didn’t use to bother you before will become highlighted. Things you didn’t think mattered will become vital and important to the purity of your home and order of your life. You may become aware of things in your life, your home, and relationships you never may have noticed before. When we find things that are out of place we want to p urge them, cleanse them, clean them, or throw them away. Under this sign we become hyper focused on doing whatever we must to maintain order to create balance in life. Because, of this we can get hyper focused on tidying things up in our physical space by doing a Spring cleaning, reorganizing our home, or purging and donating things. We may even purge our thoughts on systems, beliefs about the universe, and our relationship s with others. If they threaten the order of the life we have created or are attempting to create.
During this full moon with the extra attention to detail we can take a look at all areas of our life to see where it can use some more structure and order to lead to more efficient productivity. I know for me I end up redoing my bullet journal, my family binder, my schedule, my sons schedule, the list could go on. I end up endlessly planning and rearranging things but, in a very reflective way with purpose and drive for long term goals. Virgo reminds us that our time is finite and that we must treat it as a precious resource by releasing the things that threaten our order.
Virgo always being of service to others
Virgo is the sign of service to others and is overflowing with nurturing energy that simply wants to help anyone and everyone they see that needs it. Virgo is literally the healing energy of the cosmos and the energy that will help you with anything you need help with. Virgo takes deep happiness from helping others. You see this with many of your nurses, doctors, lawyers and social workers being from this sign. Virgo’s essence of being of service encourages you to align your actions with your heart’s desire, making this a powerful moment for intentional living for the greater good of the collective.
Since, Virgo loves to lend a helping hand, don’t be surprised if you are the first person to volunteer when a friend asks for a favor right now. But, don’t be mistaken; you won’t feel obligated in the least bit. Because Virgo loves to pitch in, you’ll not only want to come to someone’s aid, but you’ll also get extreme satisfaction from it.
This full moon makes it a great time to take a look around your community and see where you can serve those around you. What needs in community are not being met? How can you help those needs be met? How can you serve and nurture those around you? Where in your community can you volunteer your time to serve others? It’s a perfect lunation to start volunteering somewhere, plan a fundraiser, or host a community awareness event; especially focused on mental health with Virgo being the sign of the mind.
Use Virgo to release perfectionism
A full Moon in Virgo highlights the need to resolve imbalances, connect with a deeper sense of harmony, and gain a better understanding of how, where, and when we tend to get polarized or tempted to adopt a “one size fits all” approach. This energy helps us create a balance between the emotional and the practical. Virgo reminds us of the dangers of idealization, it reminds us that perfection is a trap, and also that remaining stuck in fantasy doesn’t allow us to appreciate and be present with what is already available to us. The Virgo Full Moon is a powerful time to release our attachment to ideas of how something should be, or how it will unfold, or what it will look like. Instead making sure we keep our feet on the ground, practicing self-compassion, and learning to love both ourselves and others in our humanness.
What to be cautious of during a Virgo full moon
So, let’s talk about the reasons why this sign tends to be so hated and what to look our for yourself with the Virgo energy. Since Virgo is so attached to your analytical side and so detail orientated it can come off as and be very critical at times of others. So, try and slow down and be clear with your communication with others during this time. Let them know you are coming from a place of caring, and simply wanting to help. But, when you do this make sure to let go of the need to be right. Simply make sure you listen to how you came off and state your intention. Don’t listen to that little voice telling you that you need to be right and know every detail of why and how you made that person feel the way you did. Simply accept what you are being told and let it sit with you as their experience which isn’t something you can control.
With it being critical one thing this energy may do is cause your reflection and analysis to get very critical and harsh with yourself and cause some perfectionism to take over. That little voice in your head can turn into quite an obsessive, controlling, and nagging bitch if you let her while the moon is in this energy. So, remember to harness and focus in on the part of the Virgo energy that is nurturing and helping to others and extend it to yourself too. Give yourself all the love and service you feel others deserve from you. And remember Virgo is the sign of health so physical self care can really build self compassion and help keep your critical thoughts at a productive level and not a harmful one.
Remember how Virgo brings heightened productivity and a push to get stuff done? That can sometimes go into overdrive with the Virgo energy. It can become so strong you simply want to go, go, and go. You may feel the need to get so much done you push yourself to burn out. Or you feel like you simply have no worth if you aren’t getting things done, especially in service to others. During this time remember that the only way you can continue to be productive is by taking those breaks now and than when you need them. So take them! Set yourself some reminders in your phone even if you have to. Nothing, feels worse than doing a massive amount of work to watch it all backslide because you burn yourself put and can’t follow through. Plus remember you have worth no matter what it is you are doing or not doing! Your worth isn’ t based on your productivity level.
Virgo full moon and duality
Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. First let’s talk about the duality of the full moon. The full moon itself is all about duality as it is another time of transformation, transition, and rebirth. During this time we are pushed into a liminal space that forces us to look at the things, people, and places that have been obstacles or holding us back. This can be a thing of beauty and hope as well as a thing of pain and darkness which forces us into duality.
Second, let’s talk about the sign Virgo. I’ll say it again, I may be a bit biased on this sign But, Virgo in my opinion is an energy that we miss the duality of often. Virgo is known for being very analytical, methodical, and detail oriented which creates an energy focused on change, goals, growth, problem solving, tiny details, and at times perfection. But, this sign is also one of the most compassionate, caring, and nurturing signs of the zodiac as well. Which also creates an energy that is very deep, loving, emotional, sensitive, and at times self sacrificing. The mix between these two energies weaves an energy and magic that pushes you to look at every tiny detail for perfection and ways to change things and those around you and for yourself. With the deep nurturing desire to push them and/or yourself to grow, heal, and be the best versions we are all capable of being for the greater good of the collective.

All you will need is something to write with, a white candle and some post it notes.
How to perform
Get into sacred space. Light your candle and use the flame to focus your breath and your attention. As you are breathing in and out you want to focus on calming energy filling your space in a bright yellow color. Once you feel surrounded in that calming yellow energy you are going to let your mind focus on the things you have been avoiding or procrastinating getting done. Once you have things coming to your mind you will than take your pen and on one post it note at a time you will write a task out. Do this until no more tasks come to your mind. Once you feel all tasks have been emptied from your mind. Take a few minutes in sacred space to reflect on what you have written on your post its and decided if the amount may be too overwhelming to work with. If the answer is yes stay in sacred space and reflect until you know which tasks to eliminate now. Once you feel grounded in your number of tasks you can blow out the flame of your candle and release your calming yellow energy.
Now, take your post it’s and place them on your fridge or somewhere front and center in your home to remind you to complete them. And every time you complete one take the post it and burn it in gratitude and leave the ashes on your altar or release them to the Earth.

Revenge, karma, justice whatever word you use to dish it out , are all powerful tools that can help you reclaim your power when you have been wronged. They can help you restore balance in your life and maybe even the collective by invoking the universal energetic law of karma, which in a nutshell states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. While some may teach you that to take revenge on others or speed up the wheel of karma to get your own justice is wrong; I won’t ever tell you that. Because, the desire for revenge is a natural human emotion, trust me! We all feel it from time to time it can be a valid and justified thing for us even. It can be deeply rooted in feelings of anger, hurt, sadness, disgust, and betrayal. When we are wronged, we often feel powerless, helpless, and alone. It can cause us to feel depressed, disconnected from others, and like nothing we want in life will ever make it’s way to us. We can ruminate and become obsessive about the person who has wronged. Allowing it to narrow our vision leading us away from our destined purpose and path. Casting a revenge, karma, or justice spell can be a potent and powerful way to help with that. Nothing helps you feel more powerful then taking matters magical into your hands. During his unstable, unpredictable, and oppressive political place the country is in right now. Take your power back and pick up your swords of powerful resistance with these spells and the energy of revenge and justice.
Forget the threefold law
Before we kickstart some karma and hex our way into dishing up justice that is well deserved on a cold platter, we have to address the pesky threefold law. Whether you are new to the world of witchcraft or a seasoned practioner you most likely have heard of the threefold law. I am sure you have had some witch tell you to never hex or curse and only cast love and light spells because, everything you do will come back to you three times over. If this is part of your personal practice then this post isn’t for you. If you are willing to question and ask yourself why you agree with such an imbalanced law instead of looking at the simple balance of give and take? If you are willing to ask yourself how can we truly spread love and light and be able to heal others and the collective; if we don’t also know how to inflict pain, cause illness, and use our power to protect ourselves? If you are willing to question all of that with your magical workings and spells, then keep reading because this blogpost will be for you! I live in a magical world where balance is what I seek to maintain and each one of my spells is aimed to do just that. I don’t listen to a rule that gatekeeps what I do that is from a religion I don’t practice; Wicca. Instead I use my magic to create the reality I wish to shape and sometimes that means karma is what I wield to do that. So, toss the threefold law in the trash and let’s see what a little magical justice can do for you. Especially with this unstable, unpredictable, and oppressive political place the country is in right now. Take your power back and pick up your swords of powerful resistance with these spells and the energy of revenge and justice.
How do Justice or revenge spells work?
Revenge or justice spells work by harnessing the power of intention, energy, and the law of karma to create outcomes in another’s life. When you cast a revenge or justice spell, you are essentially directing your energy towards the person who hurt you, with the intention of causing them harm, illness, pain, or misfortune.
Justice spells for legal matters and court cases
Legal matters have been historically challenging for many individuals, often leaving them feeling helpless. This is why one of the most common ways you can use justice or revenge spells are to help you in those kind of matters. The concept of using spells for legal success and justice has roots that date back to ancient civilizations even especially with the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Most of these spells and rituals are intended to protect the innocent and ensure fair judgments.
Justice spells and political activism
Another way we can use justice spells is when we need to mobilize and fight for the rights of those within our community and even for ourselves politically. Justice is something we can not only seek through the legal system but, also through political means. Honestly both of the two are intimately connected which is why the spells can translate to either. Especially now while we are in such turbulent political times on the verge of so much about to collapse. As we watch groups of people after people being targeted politically and rights disappearing by the swish of a pen. When we vote on politicians or choose to sit out of the political process ,we are adding our weight to the scales of justice whether or not we are aware. When we want to make a difference politically and are putting our boots on the ground with protests, door knocking, and calling our representatives. Why not add a boost with some magical justice adding fuel to your political activism and movement. I encourage you as an act of defiance to use any of these spells below in your politcal activism. Don’t waste your magic, don’t shrug your energetic responsibility to the collective. When we choose to tap into the essence of magic and learn how to manipulate reality with energy it is up to us to use it to shape our politcal reality. This political reality dictates the experience of soo many within the collective. The collective which it is our duty to protect and be the ones to enact justice when needed. Being a witch is political period and justice spells are some of the best to use for such matters.
Ways to cast revenge and justice spells
Each one of us will develop our own relationship with revenge and justice. We will sit with ourselves alone in silence and determine our ethics related to these kinds of spells. Then we will develop our own way to work with them as we listen to the clanging of chains as the scales of justice tip. Stepping in to get them back to a fair, just, and balanced place. Remember; it’s important to approach every single energy we worth with respect, reverence, and gratitude to build a relationship with it an use it to reshape reality. Follow your intuition and work with justice and revenge however you feel pulled to but, here are some ideas to get you started on ways to get magical retribution and justice in your life, for others, and in the collective.

When to cast revenge and justice spells
When it comes to casting spells I will always tell you it is up to you when you cast them. Sometimes you can’t sit here and wait for the right moon phase, the right day, or the right hour of the day. So, follow your intuition and cast them when you need too. But, if you want to add some boosted potency to them try and cast them during a libra moon phase or Libra season, on a Saturday, or during the twilight hours. Other then that what types of situations and circumstances would a justice or revenge spell be able to give a much needed kick of magic to your acts of retribution to tips the scales of justice in your favor. Below are some but, not all of the circumstances you could pick up your magical energetic sword of justice for. Always remember to follow your intuition.
Someone has been bullying your, your family, or your children
before you head out to attend a protest for a cause near and dear to your heart
You have a court case you will be going to court for soon
You need to sue someone who owes you money
When someone is restricting or oppressing your free will or the will of others
When you may not know where the harm is coming from
Before you are about to be around someone who means you harm or will be confrontational
Using them to help make a difference in court cases that affect the country politically
use them to completely remove legal troubles you have in your life
Bring someone to justice who has wronged you in the past
You can use them to get justice for others who can’t get justice for themselves
restore fairness and balance
Use them to reveal truth and corruption
getting revenge for a toxic relationship or a bad break up
Stopping the scales of justice from tipping in someone’s favor who doesn’t deserve it
Using them to speed up the wheel of karma for someone who has harmed you with physical, verbal, or sexual attacks
reveal to another person who is unware of their harm they have caused you and allow them to see themselves with clarity
Use them to gain freedom
use them as a means to protect yourself from further harm by making others think twice about attacking you
use them towards someone who was abusive towards you in life
Use them to remove unwanted, negative, or harmful energy from your life
get back something that was stolen from you
Ethics before you cast
If you are going to dish out some well earned justice or speed up the flow of karma in someone’s life you have to first take the time to think about the ethics of the spell you are about to cast. I know it may seem boring but, this is a step to not overlook. When you are casting a spell for revenge or justice you need to be doing so from a place that isn’t conflicted, that is set in it’s intention, and isn’t anchored in an unjustified emotion. It is important; I feel that revenge or justice spells should not be the first spell you cast and your first line of defense. But instead should be spells saved for those you really need them for. It is important to ask yourself if there is another way to resolve the situation first. That means looking at both magical and mundane solutions as well. These kind of spells take up a lot of energy and sometimes even leave me energetically depleted for days. So, it’s not only ethically important to think about these things before you use them but, energetically as well. If you have tried everything else and you are still feeling desperate for revenge and in need of justice, then one of these spells may be the right option for you.
How to prepare for unintended consequences
When it comes to casting spells to get revenge, retribution, or justice we not only need to think about the ethics. Make sure that we have tried other means to solve our issues and get justice. But, we also need to prepare for unintended consequences. What does this mean? This means we need to stop and take a moment, take a breath and think about what could potentially be the opposite reaction to the spell we are about to cast. Because, that opposite action could potentially come back on us. Especially if we are not set in our intention or sending out justice that was not indeed earned. When you are taking justice into your own hands and deciding to speed up the wheel of karma you need to be willing to have what you are doing to others come right back to you. You never know what protections others have up, or if you have justice you have earned coming back yo you as well. So, make sure to take the time and decide if consequences that could result from your justice will be worth it in the end if they happen to you.
Jar of Justice for court spell jar
I can’t do a post about spells without breaking out a spell jar! They are versatile after all and we have the ability to make them for whatever intention we need them for. So, if you have a court case coming up that is really important to you and you are unsure if the scales of justice will weigh out in your favor, this spell jar is for you. This multipurpose justice spell is designed to bring fairness and truth to light during legal proceedings. Fill a jar with items like bay leaves for protection, black mustard seeds for confusion to the opposition, and a written petition stating your case. Once you have created and sealed the jar come back to it and charge it every day until your case is over. Then dispose of away from your home to make sure no appeal can be won and your decision be reversed.
Sweeten the opposition court case honey jar
Next up, this spell takes it’s inspiration from hoo doo honey jars. You often see them in love spells. I have even written about them in that capacity . But, why not use a honey jar to sweeten up the judge, jury, and opposition toward you in legal matters. to ensure you win your court cases. Make sure with this one to take the time and research hoo doo and honey jars. Some consider hoo doo a closed practice and therefore won’t work with them in their own practices. That is up for you to decide though not me. Sweetening spells like this one aim to soften the opposition and attract positive verdicts. How to do this spell, write your grievances or case details on parchment and submerge it in honey along with herbs like licorice root. Leave it until your court case is over and you have won.
Binding Justice spell
This spell is one that is really simple to do as long as you have something that can represent and connect you energetically to the person you need to get justice against. I love binding spells because they are really potent and restrict their ability to harm you further even from things you have yet to think of they could inflict upon you. To cast this spell make sure that you get into a grounded state while you visualize the person or entity being bound in place and no longer able to harm you and justice being served against them finally. Then grab your chord ( I like to use twine ) and your representation of the unjust party like a poppet you made, a court document, or an image of them. Then wrap the chord around the representation as tightly as you can. Use the entire chord and when you get to the end use a knot to tie it off and bind the unjust party.
Return to sender justice spell
At the heart of a justice spell we are looking for protection from injustice often through invoking karma. Sometimes that may even mean that we don’t know where exactly that injustice, ill intent, and harm is coming from. It could be because we simply are unware of it or because there is so much of it overflowing in the collective now. You are getting targeted by some because of a group you belong to or a community you identify with. Return to sender spells are meant to be used when you are being targeted by magical forces and to then reflect ill intent, injustice, and misfortune back to them. For this spell all you will need is a big clove of garlic, a pen, a zip lock bag or spell bag, and some salt. Grab your clove and pen then draw an evil eye on one side of the garlic clove while focusing on the energy of justice. Take the clove and place it in your spell bag or zip lock. Fill the bag with salt until you can no longer see your engraved clove. Seal the bag shut as you visualize all of the injustice leaving your life. Take this bag or spell pouch and place it under your bed for 7 days aka one week. After the 7 days remove it and throw it away somewhere not on your property in the trash. Watch as those around you who have been wishing you ill, harm, and injustice physically begin to become ill around you.
A bite of karmic justice spell
This next one has a return to sender kind of vibe to it but, using the stinging sour bite of lemon to help you get some justice in your life. I love working with lemons in baneful or protective spells and most justice or revenge spells are both of those. Adding the purifying and protective power of lemons to a justice spell gives it a cleansing boost with some much needed clarity. Plus I love the sour bite it adds to each of my justice spells. Usually resulting in some interesting things I hadn’t seen coming but, were well deserved.
What you will need:
A lemon
a knife
a black candle
some twine
8 cloves
How to perform spell:
Before you cast this spell make sure to cleanse all your tools especially your lemon of all unwanted energies. Light your black candle to symbolize protection. Grab your lemon and hold it in your hand as you visualize what justice means to you. When you have that image set in your mind take a deep breath and breathe out that vision of justice into your lemon. Grab your knife and cut the lemon in half. Take your 8 cloves and stick 4 of them into each of the lemon halves. Now take a moment and focus on that justice again and what it looks and feels like to you. Look into the candle light as you hold your two lemon halves and recite ” Justice is here, I am no longer fighting alone. All of the pain you have ever caused me is now your own.” repeat this 4 times. Once done put the two lemon halves back together and take the twine and wrap the lemon in binding. Let your black candle of protection burn out until it goes out on its own. Once it goes out take your lemon and throw it away outside your home.
Burning justice Candle spell
The last spell I am bringing to you in this post about revenge, retribution, and justice spells is combining the power of protection in the flame of the candle and the destruction of releasing the injustice in the flames. The purpose of this spell is to help you see the truth, get justice from those who have already harmed you, and protect you from future possible harm. So, grab some candles and a pen/paper and let’s get some justice with the burning power of fire.
What you need:
Rosemary
a white candle
a black candle
a blue candle
oil
A piece of paper and pen
How to cast:
Begin by cleansing your workspace with rosemary. Burn it or sprinkle it around your ritual area to clear any unwanted energy. Next, it’s time to prep your candles. Do this by; Carving the word “Justice” into the white candle. Carving “Truth” into the blue candle. Carving “Protection” into the black candle. Then anoint the candles with oil and sprinkle dried rosemary on them to imbue them with your intentions. On the piece of paper, write a clear and concise statement of your desire for justice. Be specific. Focus on revealing the truth and ensuring fairness. Next, it’s time to light your candles.
Light the black candle first, saying: “By the flame of protection, may those who seek to deceive be revealed.” Light the white candle, saying: “By the flame of justice, may fairness and balance be restored.” Light the blue candle, saying: “By the flame of truth, may clarity shine and lies be banished.”
Close your eyes and visualize the scales of justice being balanced and the truth of corruption being uncovered. See the person responsible being held accountable, whether through legal channels, public acknowledgment, or karmic forces. Feel the energy of justice and truth surrounding you in a shield of protection. Send out your intention clearly and with conviction. Take your pen and write it all down onto your piece of paper. Don’t forget to write down what the injustices are they have caused you, your community, your loved ones, or this country. When you feel centered in this conviction of justice and grounded in the injustices they need to pay for. Recite this spell out loud as you burn your paper in the flame of the black candle. “May what is hidden be revealed. May balance be restored. And may those who seek to avoid justice be brought to their knees. No longer able to avoid the harm they cause the greater good and community.” Allow the candles to burn out naturally (or, if you must extinguish them, do so by snuffing them out, not blowing). Take your candles and place them on your altar or freeze them. Come back and relight them if the person is in need of more justice to be served to them or new actions need to be revealed.
Final thoughts
Revenge or justice spells can be a powerful tool for reclaiming your power and balancing the collective scales of justice when you have been wronged. However, it is important to use them responsibly and to be aware of the risks and potential unintended consequences that could come your way. If you are seeking justice and yearning for karma to take its course revenge and justice spells are the way to go. In a world where fairness often feels elusive, the need for justice and truth becomes ever more pressing. Whether you’re seeking to uncover hidden truths, protect yourself from deception, or restore balance in a challenging situation, these powerful justice spells can help.

The second new moon of 2025 graces the skies with its sliver of light on February 27th. This time we find the moon under the creative, spiritual, compassionate, empathetic, and dreamy sign of Pisces. Pisces is the clairvoyant of the zodiac. It is a sign with a deep sensitivity to those around them and heightened sense of intuition. New Moons are always a time of new beginnings, and the New Moon in Pisces inspires us to imagine the future we want deep down we are afraid to let rise to the surface. But, this new moon is the time when we overcome our fears so that we can begin manifesting the things we’ve fantasized about. The things our heart is almost too afraid to reach for. A new moon in Pisces is a time for emotional intensity, spiritual growth, and reflection. It is also a time to dream big, be creative, and leap without fear into new beginnings. This new moon in Pisces inspires us to attune to our intuition and strengthen our capacity to flow with life. This new moon along side the ethereal two fishes is all about connecting with your intuition and setting intentions aligned with your highest self. Pisces energy encourages us to trust the unseen, embrace flow, and water seeds that align with our dream life. This new moon is a time for deep introspection and renewal, marking a new beginning with a focus on your inner world and dreams. Allowing us to plant seeds of infinite potential within our inner temples to cultivate our most spiritual and dreamy life.
New moon what it is and why we honor it
Every month, the New Moon carries us over the threshold of a new beginning. So, let’s talk about the new moon in general before we dive into the depths of our dreams with the Pisces fishes.
Who is Pisces?
Pisces is a water sign, ruled by the planet Neptune, and is the 12th and final sign of the zodiac. People born between February 19 and March 20 are Pisces. It’s symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions, representing the constant division of Pisces’ attention between fantasy and reality. As the final sign, Pisces has absorbed every lesson—the joys and the pains, the hopes and the fears—learned by all of the other signs. This makes these fish the most psychic, empathetic, and compassionate creatures of the astrological wheel.
Since, Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet that governs creativity and dreams; these ethereal fish adore exploring their boundless imaginations. But, Neptune also oversees illusion and escapism. Neptune’s energy is like the energy of the ocean: magical, mysterious, and often scary. When the fog is thick on the water, the horizon is obstructed and there is no differentiation between the sea and the sky.
Pisces the Constellation
The Pisces constellation is one of the largest northern sky constellations. Pisces lies between Aries constellation to the east and Aquarius to the west. . According to legend the constellation is composed of two fish who are connected together by a ribbon. The fish are the goddess Aphrodite and her son Eros (Roman: Venus and Cupid). They turned themselves into fish in order to escape from the monster Typhon. They then connected themselves together with a ribbon in order not to be separated. There is also a different origin tale that Hyginus preserved in another work. According to this, an egg rolled into the Euphrates, and some fishes nudged this to the shore, after which the doves sat on the egg until Aphrodite (thereafter called the Syrian Goddess) hatched out of it. The fishes were then rewarded by being placed in the skies as a constellation.
Pisces The Most Potent Time To Manifest
Pisces is the last Zodiac sign, so we may also take some time to clear things out and make room for anything new to come. The new Moon in Pisces is a time of healing, a time of magic, and most importantly, one of the most potent times to practice manifestation work. That’s because Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet of imagination and mysticism, which means you’ll not only be more connected to your creativity but also your spiritual center. You have the opportunity to slip into the flow and waters of life now. When that happens, you want what is happening and what is happening is what you want. Your manifesting is working perfectly and you are able to create new things and new dreams you have never imagined before now. Get prepared because the flow of abundance, creativity, and realized dreams is coming your way under this new moon light.
Pisces The Sign of Creativity
The Pisces new Moon can be a great time for creativity since Pisces rules imagination and fantasy, and we can get lost in daydreams. This can be channeled into creative projects and ventures, and we can get inspired more easily. The energy of Pisces guides us to go with the flow, to be less concerned with planning and plotting, and instead, to bring ourselves into the present moment. While we may not have all the answers and be in a state of unknowing, this new Moon reminds us that this is where our true creative powers lie. Allow the energy of the two fishes to let your creativity naturally flow from you in ways you have never experienced before.
Pisces The Sign of Compassion and Empathy
Pisces is a compassionate sign, so empathy and understanding can also be strong with this new Moon. We may want to be of help in new ways, and focus on trying to help those who can’t help themselves. At the center of the Pisces new Moon lie themes of healing, kindness, and sensitivity. This lunar phase invites us to nurture our emotional well-being, cultivate compassion for ourselves and others, and embrace the healing power of love and forgiveness. You can utilize the energy of this new moon to heal relationships by starting some new ones and bringing the energy of new beginnings through forgiveness . You can look into the depths of your soul to face past hurts in a relationship and heal deep wounds that may still be lingering causing resentment and friction.
Pisces The Sign of Spirituality
Pisces is the sign of spirituality, so this can be a time to start new spiritual ventures. We can make more time to connect with our intuition and subconscious mind, and we can feel more in tune with the subtle energies all around us. It is an energetic frequency that dissolves boundaries, allowing us to tap into the collective consciousness and access deeper layers of intuition. This new moon ask you to dive deep into your unconsciousness, let go of fear, and embrace the unknown of starting new things . Allow the waves of Pisces to push you forward onto the next chapter unfolding now in front of you.
Pisces The Ruler of What’s Hidden
Pisces rules what’s hidden, so we may become aware of something that has been hidden, some sort of secret, whether its being kept from us by others or ourselves. We can also find we do our best on our own, in the background, and behind the scenes. It reminds us that while being authentic and open with others is great to do, we don’t always need to tell everyone our WHOLE truth. It encourages us to tap into the realm of dreams and imagination, including things we never think we could see. To envision a future aligned with our soul’s purpose and our wildest dreams. Pisces inspires us to imagine things we have yet to even know our soul has dreamed.
Themes for the Pisces New moon
Every single new moon we experience will have it’s own themes that align with the sign it is in. This time, we experience the new Moon in the dreamy, creative, innovative, ethereal, physic, and spiritual Water sign Pisces. Pisces is also a Mutable sign, the most adaptable and flexible of the signs. The new Moon in Pisces invites us into the magic of infinite possibility. It also reminds us of a profound truth we are energetic beings, connected to everything in the Universe. From the stars above to the deepest oceans, we share the same cosmic essence. Our dreams and visions exist in this vast field of potential, already alive within us just waiting for us to bring them to life. Use this new moon in Pisces to find creative solutions to any challenges or issues you’ve been facing because you’ll feel both more creative and better able to go with the flow. If the Pisces fish can teach us anything, it’s that there are no wrong paths. The two fish of Pisces swim in opposite directions, and yet, their journey is a circle meaning they will eventually both land in the same place.

Things to look out for with the Pisces new moon
Amidst the beauty of this lunar energy, there may also be feelings of emotional overwhelm. Pisces energy can easily blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality, leading to confusion and escapism, including a lot of time spent getting lost in daydreaming. It is essential during this time to stay grounded, to honor our emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them, and to cultivate practices that promote inner peace and clarity. You also might be more susceptible to absorbing others’ negativity or taking things personally, so set clear boundaries and practice self-care. Practicing self care will allow you to build up self worth and use it to not blur the lines between your emotions and others. Lastly don’t forget the dreamy nature of Pisces can lead to unclear thinking, so avoid making major life choices without careful consideration.
Pisces and duality
Since, I am a grey witch every single energy I work with I look for the duality in that energy and how I can connect to it. This includes the new moon and the energy of the zodiac sign it currently is in like Pisces. First, let’s look at the duality of Pisces itself. First, we see it in the representation of the two fishes in it’s symbol. It shows us that the two fish even though they may be swimming different directions. They will always eventually meet with each other at the same spot to complete their cosmic circle. We also see the essence of duality in the way Pisces calls us into the deep to look at our deepest emotions, and wounds guiding us to release them. This is a needed thing for healing and change but, the depths of the emotions can also feel like they are drowning us amongst their rough waves.

About Me : I have been a solitary grey magic practitioner for 15 + years. First and foremost, I consider myself a mystic and seeker of all knowledge. I am dedicated to the restoration, and re-enchantment of Magic in society, across this realm, and in each and every soul I come across in life! I am here to create a container that promotes healing, duality, and raw authenticity. I do this by guiding you on your personal journey to understanding your unique magic and sacred contracts. I facilitate this for you through embracing your shadow, duality and learning to live in energetic balance while not wearing a mask. When you work and learn from me you do so from your “darkness” as much as your “light” and in a way to truly harness and accept it not to just go thru it on the way to your light. But, I teach you how to truly embrace it, work with it, and use it alongside your light as a partner. I hold up a mirror for you to be able to see your authentic reflection looking back. Then have the courage to take the next step and do the uncomfortable but vital inner work to completely remove your mask. By facing all of your past wounds, traumas, and hurts. Allowing you to see both the dark and light within your story and take each chapter and alchemize it into something that is so powerful. your unique internal flame will shine so bright you will always be able to go within and find it on a dark cold night. You will learn how to truly live in duality and energetic balance to allow growth, and alignment with your sacred contracts and purposes. to finally move on and truly let the things that hold you back in this life from healing and manifesting go.
